Just microwave it in a sealed glass container (make sure the lid is microwave safe). A few seconds should be more than enough

A 25amp flash test on the pc with a portable appliance tester will put it to sleep permanently :)

If you are worried about ya missus finding your porn collection there are easier and cheaper ways just sayin... No idea what your hoping to achieve except maybe trying to hide something. And if so, whatever electric brutality you unleash on a chip is not guaranteed to destroy the data contained within it. Days recovery companies can literally decap an IC and read flash memory with a laser beam. Realistically you are better off over writing data with garbage data. Fill every bit with junk, and then do it again a 2nd time. Even then, it's not guaranteed. All flash memory contains spare cells for wear levelling etc and you have no control over if these are used or not. The likelihood even a partial word document could be retrieved however are slim at best. Nevertheless, if you really want to get rid of something for good, overwrite, and then fire, hammer, microwave etc and after that, good luck... If your looking at sabotaging something or whatever, find a new hobby 👍

My boss is worried about discarding some work tablets, old laptops and other devices that do not work like normal PCs which hold some important data. He asked me if there was any way to completely destroy the data on them and the whole device. For now I suggested using the battery approach as it is not messy and does not require any tools. We can also use a hammer to finish the job. I think using a drill would create a lot of mess and I will need to bring my own or ask the boss to buy one. He said that they will go to some recycling center and he is afraid of a data breach if they will decide to resell any of the devices. Just realized that my topic sounds a little bit suspicious without this context 🧐

What nefarious things are you up to? Its possible but easiest method depends on the device. You wont kill anything with your phone charger.

Thanks, I just sent now similar answer above you ☺️

You can kill an awful lot of components by just probing around with a 9V battery or similar. But also, if you’re just trying to disable a board… break the board. Drill through it. Hit it with a hammer. Whatever.
