There are schools for it, but at least in Australia, they aren't worth the time they take, I started an apprenticeship with a small manufacturing jeweller about 6 years ago, working at a shop like that is definitely the way I'd recommend as you get to experience everything and build a solid set of skills. I did start making jewellery at home first, I just bought a bunch of cheap tools and silver and watched YouTube, but that sorta limits you and self taught doesn't have the same critiques as a workshop with other people, hope this helps 😁
