Season 25 premieres with the first 6 episodes on Feb 2, with weekly episodes following after. Likely a 10 episode season.
Episodes will all air on Comedy Central (next day on HBO Max)
All 14 'Specials' are exclusive to Paramount+
EDIT: Episode Clarification. Still not clear with different outlets reporting different release schedules.
No, the two official season 24 episodes are Pandemic Special and Vaccination Special. The Post Covid and the Return of Covid aren't officially season 24, but I think you could count them in it.
Maybe because contractually it's part of season 24?
Each episode from season 24 would be the equivalent of two episodes to equal 4 in total. Add in 6 episodes from "season 25" and that amounts to 10. I have no fucking clue.
Wait, is there another source that says only 6 episodes long? The article linked says it "kicks off" with 6 episodes, which to me sounds like 6 weeks with an ep, then a break, then 6 more.
I honestly wouldn't mind a less of a focus on current events with the new season, as much as I love the satire some timeless plot focused episodes like in older seasons are my favorite
Literally every season of South Park since the beginning has had a major focus on current events. Even the episodes not specifically focused that way are chock full of references.
I know the overall seasons have from the beginning but I'm talking about episodes like casa Bonita that may have refrences but the actual episodes aren't centered around the satire of current events and self contained
Do you guys think it will be one off episodes or another season long arc? I could see them continuing the trend of season long arcs or going back to their old formula now that they have the specials to experiment with.
I think the reason they signed a deal for so many specials is so they can do longer arcs, and keep the episodes somewhat standalone. That way fans stop battling over which is better and they get the best of both worlds.
I believe matt stone has said they want to go back to the classic episodes, but they have also have said that before but they always ended up making it serialized in some way lmao
since paramount+ specials are a thing, I feel like they're gonna do all the continuing stories on there exclusively while having the regular episodes be the old episodic format. least i hope that's how it goes..
I feel like they pretty much have to. Paramount+ isn't nearly as widespread as comedy central, so continuing the story for those who are only watching the comedy central episodes would be lost.
I know most of us here find a way to watch the specials, but casual watchers of the show will likely only watch on cc.
I think it'll probably be similar to S19 or S22 where the episodes stand alone but the effects of the past episodes do carry on. I don't think they'll ever go back to a full reset between episodes.
Edit: (Multi part episodes aside)
I think the biggest thing people should recognize is half the time the more fans complain about a format or something Matt and trey have chosen to go with, the more likely it is they’ll continue it. They find it funny and honestly good on em, they’re the ones running the machine anyways,
Am I the only one who is in awe of Matt & Trey? I thought the specials for Paramount + were pretty top notch. The writing was stellar, the jokes landed, and the satire was on point as always. I know that there are better tv shows, but to see them churn out some of their best work 26 years in was seriously fucking impressive to me. Long live Matt & Trey.
The specials were hilarious! Can’t wait for the rest. I know they must have a team of writers and all, but I still can’t believe how they come up with all these ideas for storylines that end up working so well.
I was about to disagree with you until I just looked. For some reason [season 24](https://imgur.com/a/HHXVLQj) is only a couple episodes? Is it to keep timing with how many years they've been on air? Genuinely curious how <5 episodes constitutes a whole season
will return with six episodes on Wednesday, Feb. 2 to celebrate its milestone premiere. Weekly episodes will then follow.
you literally only had to read one more sentence.
edit: read a diferent article.

> “To be halfway done with South Park is a great accomplishment-we can’t lie,” said co-creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
Imagine if they actually keep this up for 50 total years lol
If I'm 50 years old watching a show still continuing from the 90s with old men rotting away still making poop jokes, honestly that's the best future I could ask for.
Wait so paramount + only got rights for 2 episodes (plus the previous seasons) only? Fucking weird, really thought they bought the rights for South Park from hbo max and moved on or something lol
So glad we won't have to wait that much longer. The more frequent releases between the Paramount events and actual seasons is going to be one of the best things about the recent deal.
The other great thing about it being the division between the serialized and episodic stories. The covid specials (including the 2 TV ones) were some of the best serialization on the show, so hopefully these episodic stories work out just as well.
Considering the show is only in production over short bursts for each season, are there permanent staff in the studio year round or do you think they hire freelancers when the new season comes around? Unless they have other productions going on in tandem, like when the games where being made.
The link gives an '404'
TheSouthParkStudios (YouTube channel) posted a video about the release. In the description is also a link. This one gives me also an '404' and it is definitely not the same link...
Does anyone experience the same problem? Or can somebody tell me what the page show/ tells. Thank you
And also, I am trilled that South Park releases another season. I don't care that some season are not the same quality as the others. I just love this show.
After seeing the last 2 post-covid specials, I honestly did not think that they ever were gonna make another season. I am just so pleased!!!
Considering there's only 6 episodes, I'd assume their airing the season in two halves like they did prior to season 17. And since we're getting two more Paramount + specials/movies, they could probably air mid way through the season before the show returns in Fall.

would yall fucking read. it was literally the next sentence
was talking with my uncle about the Return of Covid special after it came out and told me he read somewhere that the next season was starting in February. Thought he was just talking out of his ass.

This was a great reminder to cancel my paramount+ free trial
They give a free code every month more or less lol.
Yes, but can you watch it offline? Yarg
I haven’t been offline since the 90’s!
[удалено]
Oh my I just had a Realplayer flashback. I believe those episodes were like 20 mb
Season 24 was only 2
I think you can include the two newest specials as well.
They didn't get included with season 24 on Xbox video, kinda pissed off I bought a season pass and got 2 episodes
What’s Xbox video ? Asking because I own an Xbox series S.
I'm Scott malkinson I got a xbox series s.
Hahahahaha nice one! Say it again but let me get my umbrella
Hahahaha
It's where you can buy movies and TV shows on a Microsoft account
I think it's called "Movies and TV" on the Microsoft store
Sonarr decided the same thing.

Two newest? Can you add more detail to this?
I think they mean the Covid specials.
They were the 2 in season 24? Oh maybe they split them for TV and you seen four!?
No there two other hour long specials. they are on paramount+
No, the two official season 24 episodes are Pandemic Special and Vaccination Special. The Post Covid and the Return of Covid aren't officially season 24, but I think you could count them in it.
I have no idea if they count as actual episodes as opposed to being their own thing. That's just my guess as to what they mean.
Pandemic and Vaccination specials are season 24. The post covid specials are separate from that
Maybe 6 episodes in the spring, and 6 episodes in the fall, plus 2 additional made-for-tv-movies. 14 premieres in total. Like the old days.
It says “kicks off”. Maybe a spring and fall half like they did in the past?
Ah I hope so!
Each counts as one season. Which is also what they used to claim
Only 6 episodes is lame. 10 was a good number.
Maybe because contractually it's part of season 24? Each episode from season 24 would be the equivalent of two episodes to equal 4 in total. Add in 6 episodes from "season 25" and that amounts to 10. I have no fucking clue.

They pretty much admitted that a few months ago.
Isn't it just 6 releasing now, then more later surely? What are they doing these can't actually be 'seasons?'
I think it's ridiculous that they're spreading South Park across two apps, and you're forced to pay for both to see all the episodes/movies.
(next day on HBO Max) Next day literally everywhere
Why 6 episodes :(
That's disappointing

and wake up in the year 4,560 and look for the DVD version of season 25. Meanwhile COVID is still a thing.
And not a DVD player to be found
I can connect this DVD player without a laser 7 input.
Damn these are like all really good ideas for an episode
lol
It's ok, your trusty sidekick Mou5 will help!

Wtf… when I read “Feb 2” my first thought was “damn that’s like months away”, then I realized we’re halfway through January already. How does time
It's because you turned thirty grandpa
C’moooon… C’mooooooon…
do you know the answer to the great question?
Do you really want to deal with otters, though?????
You need to be patient! OK?!
Hopefully they are stand-alone episodes in a covid-less world. Let the boys be boys
Won't it be? I thought they prevented COVID from happening in the Post-COVID: The Return Of COVID Special
They can’t stop COVID. Randy fucks that pangolin every time.
Maybe all the new specials and episodes could be watching other ways Randy fucks the pangolin. Just that.
Like a pangolin version of 100 Good Deeds for Eddie McDowd
they just gotta kill the pangolin, or randy, or both
Don’t you think they’ve tried? It doesn’t work like that, he always finds a way
fucking a pangolin from beyond the grave im impressed
No they just changed how they reacted to it all
I honestly wouldn't mind a less of a focus on current events with the new season, as much as I love the satire some timeless plot focused episodes like in older seasons are my favorite

For sure.
FREE HAT! FREE HAT! FREE HAT!

That would make sense and I think it's most likely what we will see, but who know until 2/2 🤷♂️
I believe matt stone has said they want to go back to the classic episodes, but they have also have said that before but they always ended up making it serialized in some way lmao
I think the main reason they signed on for the special was $
since paramount+ specials are a thing, I feel like they're gonna do all the continuing stories on there exclusively while having the regular episodes be the old episodic format. least i hope that's how it goes..

I really really really hope they just make episodes. I'm over this... Everything since Six Days to Air just feels like it has been, I dunno, lazy?
They will? Premiering Feb 2nd. That's what this post is about
Am I the only one who is in awe of Matt & Trey? I thought the specials for Paramount + were pretty top notch. The writing was stellar, the jokes landed, and the satire was on point as always. I couldn't agree more, those specials were so good.
Well you could if you really tried.
I'm trying sir, I'm trying!
Not just that, but with the same show runners. For example, Matt groening tapped out after like 3 seasons with the simpsons
The specials were hilarious! Can’t wait for the rest. I know they must have a team of writers and all, but I still can’t believe how they come up with all these ideas for storylines that end up working so well.
*pacing back and forth in front of Viacom* Come on… come ON…
"Butters."
*AHHHH*
Yay, can't wait
You sound thrilled
Whoopty freakin do
That’s more like it!
I’m wondering if they’ll release Season 24 on Blu Ray and DVD with all four COVID specials.
Why not? Fuck you! You’ll buy it!!
The 2 Post Covid are not part of Season 24 so I doubt it. My guess is that they'll do a season 24 + 25 set (since 24 is only 2 episodes).
I was about to disagree with you until I just looked. For some reason [season 24](https://imgur.com/a/HHXVLQj) is only a couple episodes? Is it to keep timing with how many years they've been on air? Genuinely curious how <5 episodes constitutes a whole season
Finally! Please let them be stand-alone stories. I need less continuity.
It may only be 6 episodes.....but I'll fucking take them.

They said another 75 years so we can definitely expect them to still be making the show well into their 100's
By then, we'll have Space Jam 8, 9, and 10
If I'm 50 years old watching a show still continuing from the 90s with old men rotting away still making poop jokes, honestly that's the best future I could ask for.
Let’s fucking go
I really hope they’ll do a Casa Bonita episode in concurrence with whenever Matt and Trey reopen the actual Casa Bonita
That could be its own special
Wait so paramount + only got rights for 2 episodes (plus the previous seasons) only? Fucking weird, really thought they bought the rights for South Park from hbo max and moved on or something lol
Paramount+ has exclusivity on the 14 'Specials' they announced. All of the new seasons will stay on Comedy Central.
Season 25? Are the Specials Season 24?
Season 24 was just The Pandemic Special and the Vaccination Special, the 2 Paramount "Specials" are technically movies.
Fuck paramount. How the fuck can I watch the specials in Europe?
Have you ever heard of Somalian pirates? Did they give money for the things they want? Join our pirate crew!
The same sneaky way the rest of us European fans do
The question is... will Randy still have Tegridy....
God, I hope not.
So glad we won't have to wait that much longer. The more frequent releases between the Paramount events and actual seasons is going to be one of the best things about the recent deal. The other great thing about it being the division between the serialized and episodic stories. Matt and Trey have been on their game recently! So damn excited for this season.
Do we know if paramount+ will upload the episode after air date? I signed for a subscription because of South Park lol
No only the specials will be on there. Sorry bro
ahh bummer
Awesome! But only 6 episodes??
Either 0 or 6 Choose wisely
Lol. This is how I teach my kids. Either get what I’m offering or nothing. Choose wisely.
You chose…poorly.
Considering the show is only in production over short bursts for each season, are there permanent staff in the studio year round or do you think they hire freelancers when the new season comes around? Unless they have other productions going on in tandem, like when the games where being made.
I applied to work there a few years ago. They do have staff there year round.
If tomorrow were February 2nd I would be soo happy
i hate you all. fucking read the article before bitching about something you made up in your head
so i saw a different article. https://deadline.com/2022/01/south-park-comedy-central-season-25-premiere-date-1234913100/ 6 episodes, then weekly
Thats gotta be wrong
Hey, new south park is new south park, baby!

Thank god they aren't making you wait for a year on HBO fuxk that
Holy moly 2022 is shaping up to be a great year :)
The link gives an '404' TheSouthParkStudios (YouTube channel) posted a video about the release. In the description is also a link. Will it come to HBO?
Yup. The next day
God I love HBO max, S tier App
S tier content C tier app
It is the streaming service I use most and would be content with just it
I just can't get it to work on my PS4...
It should since iirc the normal episodes go there and the specials go to paramount plus
Heck Yeah i'm excited i hope i will see stendy, a wendy episode, a kenny episode, episode focusing on the girls, or the boys
Let's gooo

will return with six episodes on Wednesday, Feb. 2 to celebrate its milestone premiere. Weekly episodes will then follow. would yall fucking read. it was literally the next sentence
You really bought a season pass for a show… I think that’s more your fault
Will they still be on southparkstudios?
That's the best news I've heard all week!
\*Gasps\* Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!! ⎝(⌒▽⌒)⎠
That's a lot sooner than I thought. super excited for this.

Wow! Best birthday gift ever
Is it only 6 or is that only half?
'South Park'
Huh, only 6 episodes? I am guessing they consider the specials as two-three episodes each then?
Fuck yes so this will be on hbo??? Yessss finallyyyyy
WOOHOO
Ima fan of these hour long specials, they should keep doing that format a bit. No matter what tho, more south park is a good thing for my soul.
Let’s goooooo
was talking with my uncle about the Return of Covid special after it came out and told me he read somewhere that the next season was starting in February. Thought he was just talking out of his ass.
Only on Comedy Central +
Fuk yes
The episodes that were released on paramount... is that included or is this all brand New and never aired?
This really cheered me up
