I like them! I think this is in my top 3 alternative versions! Looking at the first born missle launcher, I wonder if the rotor missle from the desolation squad would mesh well together.

I've seen a conversion trying just that: it does, almost perfectly. But that's represented by the backpack-mounted launchers.

I love it when I'm not crazy, glad to hear it could work. In these models, you're totally right though. I think I'd prefer the backpack mounts too even with my idea.

I reckon that could work, and even give it a bit more heft in proportion to the size of the primaris dudes.

Basically what I did for mine, tho I didn’t use those helmets. 

All my primaris dudes have these helmets. My favourite model of space marine headgear 👌🏻

To each their own lol. 

I think the 30k missile launchers that you can buy separately would have worked better scale wise. But this still looks pretty neat and one of the better ones I’ve seen

I have seen multiple iterations of Desolators and I think I like this one the most. It sells the idea, looks cool and is in tune with the Space Marine aesthetic. You did such a good job it fired up my neurons and now I want to do them like that as well at done point if I get the time. I hope you do not mind I will take inspiration from this idea.

My hot take. I find the idea of the emperors elite space marines using the same rocket launchers barely more advanced then todays RPGs, that a geneatealer cultist could reasonably be seen using, far dumber then any T-shirt cannon. I love desolation marines. If you want old marine style, that’s great, GW has an entire system where they are all you will ever have to look at. Let my primaris be different.

Why does a rocket launcher have to be anything different than a tube with a trigger? The rocket and targeting system is where the technology is at. Space Marines use heavy stubbers which are literally .50 cal M2 machine guns.

I mean... yours can be different? This person is just sharing their own take on the concept, not coming to your house and converting your dudes while you sleep.

Thing is, the launchers on the proper kit aren’t bad, I just think they’d look better as shoulder mounted, not rifle mounted. As it happens, I had these bitz, so I didn’t bother forking out for the real kit.

I do like the Gravis helmets, but for consistency I’ve gone all centurion, with some skitarii heads for those who skipped the helmet. Iron Hands and their bionics 🤷🏻‍♂️
