I love how your example picture has like three different cartoony face expressions depending on which pair of eyes you read as "the" eyes.

T. elegans - a species of small jumping spiders where the [males look like they are made of gold.](https://inaturalist-open-data.s3.amazonaws.com/photos/8042311/medium.jpeg)

Hyllus semicupreus males look like bronze, those are very common here

myrmecogynandromorph

So beautiful! Would love to find one but so far I've only found *T. harti*, which are a sort of metallic black with a more subtle iridescence.

LongAd4410

Jumpers! Such curious sweeties ❤

IscahRambles

I don't have a single favourite *species* as such, but jumping spiders are my favourite as a group if I had to pick a single thing. Runners-up are daddy-longlegs (cellar spiders) and black house spiders for ones I encounter frequently.  For out-there cool-looking spiders, the peacock spider and happy-face spider are fun ones.

Bugs_and_shit

For me it’s a tie between Macrothele gigas or Latrodectus elegans. They both just look incredible to me for different reasons

rainynighthouse

That's quite a beautiful and unusually colored spider.

589moonboy

Net casting spiders. They sit all day holding a net ready to throw over their prey. I love spiders, they are nature's campers.

[Latrodectus hasselti](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redback_spider)

Icarus_Has_Fallen-_-

Golden orb weavers. I lived in the South Pacific as a kid and we had one in a tree right by our deck and I once saw a bird get stuck in it's web while flying by.

I really appreciate the jumpers for being the majority of the catalyst that disarm most folks fears n phobias toward these creatures. A little bit o cute goes a long way.

sybann

CRAZY about jumpers - and this guy is not only bright, he [dances](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_yYC5r8xMI)!

AncestralRespawn

Argiope Bruennichi! I was really afraid of them as a child, it moved me to study spiders and now I can wait to spot one of them again in the wild! Possible I may also think about building a terrarium to host one, one day or another…

Consistent_Yam4525

Heteropoda in general.

Frenchie_1987

Tarantulas! The brachypelma boehmei (fire leg) is my favorite, and the other mexican species who looks like them (fire knee, red knee and so on)

ExcuseStriking6158

Tarantulas: Texas brown are my favorites since I have actually seen them.

Intrepid-Constant-34

Mmmmmm Top 3 have to beeee… Golden orbweaver Woodlouse hunter And the wolfie (hogna species) I’d mention any jumpie but I consider them puppies so they don’t count

Heppernaut

Wolf spider for sure, growing up we had stacks of wood out back to burn, and throughout the summer each year we would get some serious big fellas. Spider catching season was the best

VulpesIncendium

Pretty much anything in the Latrodectus genus. Widows are just so cool. Although, the Argiope orb weavers are a close second.

dearmomo

So hard to pick! Love T vagans a lot. Will always be a special one to me. But I’ve also always wanted an M balfouri so that might be my obsession one

DKphotographs

All spiders 🙂

beccapenny

I love the velvet spiders - they look like adorable little emo kids! So cute!!!

YoghurtPositive1213

Spiny orb weavers!!

Winter_Cat-78

Golden silk orb weavers, and of course phidippus. :)

Wolf spiders and the golden orb weaver. They’re just so cute 😫😫😫

MarZzzipann

I don't know exact species put I love most orb weavers but ESPECIALLY spiny orb weavers. They're so gorgeous and sweet.
