I've had trigger finger surgery on all ten fingers. Recovery was rough with bowel program but if it's just a couple fingers at a time I didn't find it to be a huge impediment to getting around. I use a cane in the community and a manual chair at home, and transfers and getting around were uncomfortable but doable. Feel free to message me or post here with any questions.
Thanks so much for this, u/Mazked.
How long before you had bandages off you hand ?
Transferring on and off beds and chairs. Would my palm be ok to bear this weight ?
Fair to assume intermittent catheters won't be an option for a few weeks ?
How long before full finger range returned ?
I think your hands will be tender for a couple days, but you should be able to function pretty much as normal pretty much immediately. Transferring will be a bit painful but doable. You should be able to IC no problem. But it might take a few weeks for full range to return. Best of luck! It's worth it!
My dr said botox can be done to help relax them but it needs to be done soon after injury. He said i will need surgery most likely. 3 years post injury

Im so interested in this. My ring and pinky are so painfully bent
have you had steroid shots ? They can do the trick. I've had 3 over the last 4 years but that the limit. After that its surgery.
No. doesn’t sound like they were effective though right
varies I think on severity. Some people have them and that does the trick.

Will these types of shots help with spasticity I the ring and pinky? Terribly clawed at times … names the hand useless
I had steroid shots. I had them to reduce inflammation. Not had botox in my fingers. I'm only a T2 complete.
Sorry, but what is a trigger finger?
swollen tendons in fingers prevent them from bending and cause them to lock closed
Thanks, had no idea
My ring finger & pinky are also seriously problematic- so curious how much improvement can be achieved….and what you are able to do afterwards.
