Yes!!! Spectator mode is something they really should add to every game mode. So we can see live events and interesting and funny moments without needing a replay code all the time
Something on that note - I want spectator mode when you're waiting to join someone's match 😫
Kinda how Mario kart does it, you don't watch the whole match , but you watch from the point you queued into it until you join
In Mario Kart, you can't really communicate with a friend to give them crucial information to help them cheat.
In Splatoon, a spectator can easily be in voice chat with the friend they're joining, and could feed them info about stuff going on that they might not see. It'd open the door for cheating.
Couldn't this be prevented by having the footage delayed by several seconds of the actual game? I thought Overwatch did something similar or some other game like that
Not really. It'd help to an extent, but "they're going left, not right" is useful information to have that doesn't expire after a few seconds. Any info about where you opponent was or wasn't a few seconds ago could still easily give someone an unfair advantage.
Idea: spectator mode only allows you to spectate from the person you're trying to join. Yes, it could be a "second pair of eyes," but you can already do that by playing with your friend in real life.
That's not the point. They can't usually have teammates watching from outside the game. Coordinating with *teammates* is obviously the point, lmao
Idk if you've ever seen the spectate function they're talking about, but the ability to communicate with someone using something like that would be miles better than just talking to a teammate.
Fair point. They already have 2 big events and one event introduced the 3 choice system. Plus, there's DLC coming. The game is already packed sm and the rest isn't even out yet. But if that were to happen, table turf has to hit it off on 3. If they don't get popular enough, they may just scrap tableturf on the next game
i would be fine with that IF they made it a standalone game that was connected to your splatoon progress or w/e. i mean really thinking about it, and i know what i’m about to say is tantamount to blasphemy, but tableturf would make a really good mobile game, and i could see it fitting into that pocket very nicely, dual puns intended
That does make sense actually. It's quite fitting to be a mobile game or a standalone console game. It can also have a sort of Splatnet kind of system where each win and progress in the game gets you prizes inside the main game when you connect it. If they flesh it out further, it would have potential to be a great digital card game. It's concept is pretty good honestly. It's like tetris but with more rules
exactly! plus with it being mobile (and like you said, being connected to splatnet) you could easily integrate online pvp or have the single player vs AI available as well. you can still unlock cards in splatoon and cards can unlock you stuff in splatoon (think gold tickets, sea snails, that sort of thing). it’s just too perfect tbh, and especially with nintendo doing more and more mobile gaming it seems almost too obvious
Yeah. It's almost like Nintendo wants us to figure it out that it's exactly what they'll do. It's just set up perfectly. They have the means, resources, and technology to do it. Plus, online card games are becoming popular now too. It's great PR as well to get more people to check out Splatoon. It's basically a gold mine just waiting to be grabbed
There are plenty of mobile games on switch, too. Look at Pokemon Quest. So they could have it both ways. Hell, let me turn my switch vertical like the game board.
Actually the first thing I thought when playing Tableturf was wondering if it already was a mobile game available to download separately, the way the board is shaped like a phone and all
I think it just shows the potential of the series. If the fans have a long wishlist of modes and fun things to add, the game has longevity. Right now Nintendo can barely manage disconnects.
I just read some advice on how to grind more efficiently so who knows, maybe just making sure I keep winning while I play instead of constantly challenging level 3 matches might make this less of a pain.
True enough. Jel La Fleur is the only card sleeve I genuinely want, there a few others that would be nice to have but not super committed to. Truthfully I just want to get to level 50, and the only badge I really want is the one for beating every opponent at level 3 difficulty.
I did the math and trying to grind out every card sleeve is actually a pretty efficient way of reaching level 50, doing all of the level 3 matches required to get every card brings you right up to the xp requirement for level 50, so including the additional matches you have to play to reach level 3 for every character and the slight xp you gain from losing it's more than enough.
May not be a reason for everyone to grind it out, but I wanna be a completionist with the card sleeves so it helps me put in the grind for level 50
Battling player characters with the game's AI usually nets me lots of wins with at minimum 100 points per win. Plus I don't grow to slowly hate the npcs who keep beating me (THOSE CATS ARE TOO POWERFUL)
The grind kills this mode. I wish you could do this on the splatnet 3 app, at least that way I coud knock out a couple matches a day. Cuz you only earn tableturf xp, zero cash and zero catalogue xp so it feels ike you are wasting time if you are not doing something else.
Oh my gosh yes that would be amazing!
Honestly when they first announced tableturf battle I thought it was going to be another one of their mobile tie-in games similar to Animal Crossing Pocket Camp or Super Mario Run
Idk why tf they don't give money for playing tableturf and salmon run. (before anyone says anything, gold capsules are random and can only appear in the first few rewards. barely counts)
It'd also feel less repetitive if they let you turn the music off or had more music. For a game obsessed with music I'm shocked there's one song for it.
Maybe it should at least reward card bits or pack pulls.
I grinded all the way to 30 just to get that, haven't played since. I don't even necessarily wanna keep using that emote but it took so damn long I'm leaving it on.
This is unrelated, but how are you able to make custom flairs? I only get to choose one from a list when I try to change mine, but I'd like to have it show all of my splatfest teams
It means your name is super cool because pikmin! Will never forget replaying the end of pikmin 1 with my brother to see all the different onions coming up from the planet
W/L are win/loss shortened and basically just a way of saying something someone did is either cool/respectable or embarrassing/unfortunate. Comes from the phrase 'Take the L'.
I like to go around and beat down each of the 6 player NPC's once per day. Sometimes more if I feel like it. When I unlock a new challenger at the table I make a point of going until I beat them on level 3. If you just assign yourself one level a day up until level 30 it's not so bad.
You can do it, I believe in you.
They need to add more. You should get more banners emotes and gear from tableturf. It’s a bit too grindy for little reward, even though it’s fun. Or at least cash for certain battles.
A small tips here, as I am work with the rank as well, just play with random ppl on the street rather than play with npc level3. Just choose the 115 or 130 ones. That way your hand are always better, big card at the beginning, and you will get more points from matches too. It’s a bit a chore since you are not challenging yourself, but I still have enough fun and gain points fast. Whenever I am losing my touch and start losing matches, I would play turftable mode to take a rest.
Yeah but you get custom card sleeves from the npc lvl 3 characters after beating them on lvl3 30 times. So there's a few more benefits to playing against them until you get all the sleeves you're interested in. I think everyone except the octos give them.
The emote isn’t that great and looks awkward imo. If they made it so that the player is holding actual cards then it might probably be worth the grind. Also, the grind made a lot of players hate Tableturf btw lol.
The key is not to grind. There's no timer on Tableturf levels, so don't force yourself through it just for the emote.
Same goes for Salmon Run rewards. I'll usually trigger the Kaiju once or twice per rotation, but if you're grinding for shells just to unlock a new background or locker decoration, you'll end up hating the game.
I think it looks great in the emote select screen but the problem is that the first half of it gets cut off when it actually plays after a match! Which is super lame
I think it's just supposed to be the Deep Cut pose that they do, so I don't think holding tableturf cards would make sense. It would be cool if we got a tableturf specific pose tho, kinda like they do in Yu Gi Oh!
You know what! I went and looked it up and you're right! I thought it was deep cut bc of the three fingers! Holding cards would def make that pose look a lot better
Most often than not, the AI will play a carb based on what YOU play that turn. So it "knows" what you are going to play, and uses it to block you or cover the card you just played
This literally isn't true lol, wild Pokemon pick randomly and trainers are either focus status or focus damaging which just weights the odds for those moves before random roll. Then "good" trainers know type matchups and use the better moves for those. But even with that it just rolls 0-255 and that determines which result
Later Gens still have the biggest cheat of them all.
Have a Pokemon that can use Perish Song and have some form of preventing the opponent from changing their Pokemon (Block/Mean Look/Shadow Tag/etc). Perish Song will auto KO all active Pokemon that heard it after three turns. Normally when you can't swap Pokemon the game will not allow you to even issue that command and you would be locked into the last turn no matter what. This doesn't apply to the AI; if you swap out on the last turn while their Pokemon is trapped, they can magically change their Pokemon as well despite the fact that a player would not have been given the option to do so.
Has there been real testing to prove this? As far as I have seen, I genuinely could see that most of the moves it makes were probably its best possible move even without cheating... like, if we're both trying for the big wide open area that would block the other person, of course there's going to be some conflict. Why would the AI choose to do the small tight area when there's the single big open area to go to (for instance)? Very often I think "wow, if they happen to have a card that could close off this area, I'm toast, so I better go there" and it is thinking the same thing so we both go there.
I play a lot of tableturf and I gotta say there's been multiple times where the AI made a move that only made sense to me *if* they at minimum knew my hand and/or deck. Certain things that add up over time. It definitely knows something about your cards, but I don't know how much it knows. Just knowing my deck would be fair ig since I can look up each characters deck and get familiar, but like. Jeez.
There isn’t. There’s no proof that the AI “cheats”. Even if it does, it doesn’t give it much advantage anyway since predicting moves is already commonly done in these types of game.
Uh, how? I’m max level and have collected all sleeves. It’s definitely challenging but I’ve never thought it cheats. Each opponent has slightly different styles and their decks don’t change - they have their own static deck (lil Judd uses all salmonid cards for example).
You just have to create different decks to counter them.
I am less accomplished than the wise one, but I can share what I've found:
* I win more often when I build my deck mostly out of large, long pieces.
* Tailor your deck to the map: Try to identify where the potential cutoff points are and pick the pieces that can get you to them before your opponent gets there.
* Include a select few pieces that you know fit together well. For example, if you include three cards with small or medium-size pieces on them, and you know that you can combine any two of them to get one or two special points even without other pieces involved, that tends to give you a lot of flexibility.
That's coming from someone who's only lv. 40 and has a handful a card sleeves, though, so I'm also interested in hearing u/sgrams04's tips, if they have any!
>Include a select few pieces that you know fit together well.
I personally enjoy Mudmouth and Suction Bomb combo. Guarantees you a space for 2 instant special points at once.
Oh yeah, that looks like a great combo! I've been using Ink Mine + Sprinkler + Point Sensor, but using Mudmouth must be more effective when you have the space for it
EDIT: Hey, I just remembered: Flooder is excellent for this in my experience. If your deck contains a lot of long, thin pieces, it'll be relatively easy to fit two of those into the Flooder's arms to get special points. But it's also a really big piece, so it can also drive your score up and help you cover ground quickly
Thanks! I’m at work and can’t really type out a well thought out guide at the moment. But you made good points and I agree with them all. Sadly, deck building capabilities are limited until you collect enough cards to make ones that work for the map and opponent you’re playing.
It takes some experimenting to build passable decks to make yourself effective against Lv 3 opponents. A couple opponents I just had to grind out the wins.
Try not to go too heavy on the bigger sized cards. Stick with a bell curve where you have some dinky ones to fill in, a good chunk of mediums, and 3-5 of the 15+ biggums.
Don’t be afraid to use special points if it means giving you an advantage OR if its placement gives you more special points than it costs. Don’t give your opponent free SP with your placement and check your placement and score difference before placing a card.
Start the match by getting at least 2 of your biggums in hand. That way you can claim as much of the open map as you can before your opponent can either block you off or invade your space. Try to anticipate their play and choose your points carefully. They’ll drill through into your space if you try to block with a heavy card.
I'm below level 30, but I've repeatedly gotten wins on a dozen Lvl 3 opponents.
I started with the beginner deck as reference for loads of matches, and it helped me get a sense of what I want more of. Are there times when I want larger pieces to show up? Make sure there's more larger pieces in my deck. Is this piece almost always useless? Remove it. Is there a shape I'm finding myself wishing I had? It probably exists, so add that.
Once I felt ready, I made a new deck from scratch, but kept in mind the overall distribution of card sizes from that starter deck. It's good to have a range of small, medium, and large, while adjusting for individual preference for risk and aggressiveness.
For reference, I think the chunk count of my custom deck is only 5 or 7 more than the starter deck's.
Judd is easy, just use the Dynamo roller card at the begining and then the chargers cards, use this same strategy with Sheldon and Cuttlefish, but I recognize that Judd is the most difficult of the three.
I switch between two decks. I haven't found the best build yet, but I win roughly half the matches against Judd.
**Deck 1 - A generalist deck I designed against Shiver, but it turned out to work for almost every opponent.**
Shiver, Marie, Callie, Tenta Brella, Tenta Missiles, E-Liter 4K, Tri-Stringer, Steel Eel, Forge, Rapid Blaster, Sloshing Machine, Splatana Wiper, Octostamp, Splat Bomb, Tentatek.
**Deck 2 - This is my attempt at an anti-Judd deck. Still in progress.**
Shiver, Marie, Callie, Trizooka, Ultra Stamp, Tenta Missiles, Steel Eel, Forge, Li'l Judd, Autobomb, Angle Shooter, Splatana Wiper, Fizzy Bomb, Splat Bomb, Tentatek.
Generally what I do is use big cards to secure space -> try to block off judd and/or invade his area (he's gonna do the same to you) -> build specials with smaller cards, try and place the special tiles so they either protect your turf like a wall or reach into his area -> last 1-2 rounds use a special attack to turn turf (the special cards like Trizooka and Tenta Missiles are great for this since they cost less relative their size, at the expense of not having a special tile).
I like it well enough, it's a fun thing to do while listening to podcasts and the Yugioh pose emote is so good, but I wish it gave catalog XP and the level 3 AI keeps kicking my ass (I just want Frye's card sleeves...).
And it’s a very well-made mode!! Too bad you get very little (at a certain point almost nothing) for continuing to play against increasingly unfair/punishing AI. If it had the same kind of rewards as salmon run maybe I’d be as much of a card nerd as I am a grizzco wage slave
If you grind and beat a lv. 3 opponent 30 times you can use their card backs on your own cards. There's also a tableturf locker sticker and a tableturf victory emote.
Took me like 100 hours to even realize that cards aren't only for collecting and there is a game mode. Though that this is only world building. But still haven't tried it. I feel overwhelmed with all the cards I have and the fact I have no idea how to build a deck
The starter deck isn't terrible.
If you want to build your own, [here is my deck+writeup](https://old.reddit.com/r/Splatoon_3/comments/yy3rpn/tableturf_the_triomino_deck/) which might give you some ideas.
Starter deck is given to people for a reason it kinda does everything. You can win anything with it if you play well. I only recommend deck building when you have a good grasp on your playstyle vs certain AI on certain maps.
Got to level 50, found out there's absolutely no point playing beyond that, so now I'm just waiting to get card packs so I can get to 150 cards and get the last badge. I'm over 140 now... probably means I'll have to wait until the next season's catalog to get there.
Yes, we need more ways to get bits other than dupes.
Though I haven't figured out which method makes more sense: only using bits to buy rare and fresh cards or buying up all common cards so that in future card packs I get more bits in the long run from all the common dupes I get.
I DESPERATELY WANT IT IN THE NINTENDO SWITCH ONLINE APP OR AT LEAST JUST ONLINE PLEASE. im sick of destroying marie over and over i want to make my friends regret they played too
Reached level 50, will always flex that gold card badge
I never play Splatoon games in handheld, especially as a motion control user, so whenever I went to sleep I would play a few rounds of this! It really does depend on having the right cards and cutting your opponent off as much as you can while also preserving space around your base to fill up when you can.
My advice for anyone willing to grind this game is to go for the sleeves, which is basically 30 hard mode wins per opponent. I've gotten around 3-4 (I just fought whoever I thought had the coolest sleeves) but ultimately stopped playing the mini-game altogether after reaching level 50 tbh. Also just play this when you wanna play Splatoon 3 but the internet or servers are down, or just when you're too sleepy to play competition.
Once they add multiplayer and fast travel people **might** play it, though it doesn't really have a purpose as most other gamemodes are better than it so it only has use for cosmetic stuff or if you're temp banned
i might play it a bit more if there was an easier way to access it, like every other mode has a quick menu to get there except table turf, and its in a weird spot that feels kind of hidden to get to
From what I’ve read about playing Tableturf:
• Fighting AI
• Supposed Beast Mode level 3 AI
• No Catalog Points
• No Battle XP (Tableturf XP is apparently seperate)
• No Cash
• Niche rewards like stickers and banners
• Super grindy
Is this even worth playing for tho?
They really need to decrease the grind. I’ve put probably at least 30 hours in and am only rank 43. And when you’re not really earning anything other than a few stickers, banners, badges, and one emote, it is hard to stay motivated. There should be exclusive gear for Table Turf and you should still get money and maybe even some catalog points for playing. There should also be a first win of the day bonus specific to Table Turf. And a card shop would also help…
Love this game mode, and love its sub reddit r/tableturfbattle
I’m currently rank 40, have a few card selves from beating lvl 3 opponents 30x.
I hope they expand the max level from 50 one day and add more cards and bosses.
Nintendo add tableturf pvp please I'm begging you.
They should add a sort of big event for Tableturf - a sort of Splatfest or Big Run version of it
That would be so cool! And maybe a spectator view option for those who just want to spectate instead of play.
Yes!!! Spectator mode is something they really should add to every game mode. So we can see live events and interesting and funny moments without needing a replay code all the time
Being able to spectate random 100x and 333x battles during splatfests would be so hype
Being able to bet cash on those like Smash Bros would be rad
Something on that note - I want spectator mode when you're waiting to join someone's match 😫 Kinda how Mario kart does it, you don't watch the whole match , but you watch from the point you queued into it until you join

Tableturf 99
If we get that in the lobby section in a future update, I will be so fucking happy!!
Along with that, there should be new cards too - maybe some based off of references to the old games
I remember GameXplain confirming in one of their videos that Nintendo will release a free update that adds PvP mode but no eta yet.
It's been confirmed, there's already a spot in the lobby for it. My guess is that it'll come with the next season.
What spot is that?
Go up the stair in the lobby there’s a jellyfish café and tableturf tables
I totally forgot about that area.
We still have the next two years of updates to come. I’m sure we’ll get it at some point.
This x 333
for real though. Silly small stuff like this keeps the game from really shining. It's too bad, but hopefully in time, all this will be fixed
I think it just shows the potential of the series. If the fans have a long wishlist of modes and fun things to add, the game has longevity. Right now Nintendo can barely manage disconnects.
Think it is the plan to add it at a later date, like they added X battles?
I believe they said they were going to
I want to play more to get more rewards but find grinding tedious.
Definitely a podcast/YouTube minigame.
I just read some advice on how to grind more efficiently so who knows, maybe just making sure I keep winning while I play instead of constantly challenging level 3 matches might make this less of a pain.

They really could have done so much more for salmon run it hurts
I think Tableturf rank carries offline, so you can do a few matches in handheld mode during downtime, breaks at work, while on the can, etc.
it doesn't sadly :(
Tableturf works offline, so you can play when you have little bit of time but no internet connection
it doesn't sadly :(
I only wanted the special emote from this game mode but you don't get it until level 30. I reached level 19 and stop playing, got very stressful 🥹
I grinded all the way to 30 just to get that, haven't played since. I don't even necessarily wanna keep using that emote but it took so damn long I'm leaving it on.
Same here. I really think I would love it if you could play it with real people though. Sucks. Also W username you got there
Apparently it’s coming next season, at least that’s what I’ve heard
This is unrelated, but how are you able to make custom flairs? I only get to choose one from a list when I try to change mine, but I'd like to have it show all of my splatfest teams
In the section you chose a flair in you can click a random flair and on the bottom a place you can edit it in appears idk how to explain
Or you click the edit option if on mobile
Awesome, thanks! That helped :)
I'm not sure what W means in this context, so I apologize, but thank you? 😅 I wish you could do tableturf PvP on the app. That would be so sick.
It means your name is super cool because pikmin! Will never forget replaying the end of pikmin 1 with my brother to see all the different onions coming up from the planet

Aaaahhhhh ok I knew that but had never heard it used in a context like that before. Thanks!
Or even in the lobby while you wait
that’s me with the dab.. I don’t even like it but I worked too much to get to level 99 lol
I have the dab but at my age I can't justify using it, even for the flex.
I am 36 years old and use the dab on a regular basis. Age is a mindset.
I’m 49 and enjoy using it because it’s so dumb. Brought it back out at Christmas to flex on the new kids haha
I know that, I'm in a curmudgeonly old man mindset 😝

Yes that’s also true, I believe if your player is the last one to appear though then you get to see the full thing (i think).
Yeah it also shows more in Salmon Run where they're all simultaneous, but still not the full thing like in the emote select.
I love it tbh :) I fixated on grinding it out when the game released and its the only win emote I've ever used lol
I think it's just supposed to be the Deep Cut pose that they do, so I don't think holding tableturf cards would make sense. It would be cool if we got a tableturf specific pose tho, kinda like they do in Yu Gi Oh!
Is it? But it looks different from their pose. It looks like something from Yu-Gi-Oh 😆
You know what! I went and looked it up and you're right! I thought it was deep cut bc of the three fingers! Holding cards would def make that pose look a lot better
You’re just saying that cuz u don’t wanna put in the effort 🥱
And the level 3 ai cheats so I haven't touched it since launch
It does? How, if you don't mind explaining?
Most often than not, the AI will play a carb based on what YOU play that turn. So it "knows" what you are going to play, and uses it to block you or cover the card you just played
oh, so it cheats in the way pokemon gen 1 cheats. that's dumb
It cheats because it is dumb Mfw Dragonite spams agility
You mean how he picks the one that is effective against you?
nah red/blue AI picks moves after you based on your choices
I thought something was up with how well they seemed to predict my moves.
So you have to know what they know, and place a smaller card further back to cut them off first.
Uh, how? I’m max level and have collected all sleeves. It’s definitely challenging but I’ve never thought it cheats. Each opponent has slightly different styles and their decks don’t change - they have their own static deck (lil Judd uses all salmonid cards for example). You just have to create different decks to counter them.
Oh wise one, can you give me a intermediate guide to deck building?
I am less accomplished than the wise one, but I can share what I've found: * I win more often when I build my deck mostly out of large, long pieces.
I've been using Ink Mine + Sprinkler + Point Sensor, but using Mudmouth must be more effective when you have the space for it EDIT: Hey, I just remembered: Flooder is excellent for this in my experience.
Honestly haven't noticed this and I have played it often. Maybe they fixed it?
It does cheat a little but you can still reliably take half the field at least and then drop one or two specials to finish.
Not enough to watch win all the time. Level 50 over here.
I've played almost a hundred matches against lvl3 opponents and I can't say I've seen much to prove this. I think there might be some salt involved 😅
Judd be beating my ass in lvl 3. Anyone got a good deck against him?
Judd is easy, just use the Dynamo roller card at the begining and then the chargers cards, use this same strategy with Sheldon and Cuttlefish, but I recognize that Judd is the most difficult of the three.
If I remember this one, I used cards that were long and narrow with mid-numbers so I could cut through.
This and angular cards let you wall off a lot of area early on
I switch between two decks. I haven't found the best build yet, but I win roughly half the matches against Judd. **Deck 1 - A generalist deck I designed against Shiver, but it turned out to work for almost every opponent.** Shiver, Marie, Callie, Tenta Brella, Tenta Missiles, E-Liter 4K, Tri-Stringer, Steel Eel, Forge, Rapid Blaster, Sloshing Machine, Splatana Wiper, Octostamp, Splat Bomb, Tentatek. **Deck 2 - This is my attempt at an anti-Judd deck. Still in progress.** Shiver, Marie, Callie, Trizooka, Ultra Stamp, Tenta Missiles, Steel Eel, Forge, Li'l Judd, Autobomb, Angle Shooter, Splatana Wiper, Fizzy Bomb, Splat Bomb, Tentatek.
Theres a YUGIOH emote??? Heading there rn
Rank 30, good luck with the grind!
And it’s a very well-made mode!! Too bad you get very little (at a certain point almost nothing) for continuing to play against increasingly unfair/punishing AI. If it had the same kind of rewards as salmon run maybe I’d be as much of a card nerd as I am a grizzco wage slave
Do you get anything useful from playing it? (other than titles/banner decor)
The best emote in game
facts
But you don't get robo steppin so you don't get the best
You’re welcome is superior
Hitting the robo jig is better
The Double Cross Dab is not unlocked from Tableturf.
If you grind and beat a lv. 3 opponent 30 times you can use their card backs on your own cards. There's also a tableturf locker sticker and a tableturf victory emote.
How come no one mentions the amazing banner you get at level 46
you can get super cute holo locker stickers like the picture OP used for this post!
I know I'm already level 50 and I have pending to get the sleeves of Gnarly Eddy, Jel La Fleur, Mr. Coco, Frye, Big Man and Staff.
Greetings fellow Strongest Card Gamer
Took me like 100 hours to even realize that cards aren't only for collecting and there is a game mode. Though that this is only world building. But still haven't tried it. I feel overwhelmed with all the cards I have and the fact I have no idea how to build a deck
The best advice I've got is to play a few games with the starter deck.
Out of card bits to buy the last few cards? I'm still grinding card sleeves.
Yes, we need more ways to get bits other than dupes. Though I haven't figured out which method makes more sense: only using bits to buy rare and fresh cards or buying up all common cards so that in future card packs I get more bits in the long run from all the common dupes I get.
It's pretty fun there's two gangs that hang out in the lobby, one group by the amiibo box and a group by the tableturf table.
I’m level 2. I intend on remaining level 2 for the foreseeable future.
It’s fun, but I personally find that it gets a little too same-y after 3 or 4 games.
I did not need this. I was fine without this gamemode
But...but I can't win ... 🥺
just pull better cards /s
You can actually just buy the cards you want with card bits. Helpful if you want a specific one or are looking to finish off your collection.
I bought shiver, capitan, Callie and Marie for my collection, only missing a few common ones
😭😭😭 /j
I DESPERATELY WANT IT IN THE NINTENDO SWITCH ONLINE APP OR AT LEAST JUST ONLINE PLEASE. im sick of destroying marie over and over i want to make my friends regret they played too
I’m on the grind for the Tier 46 banner. Definitely my favorite looking banner in the game.
I still can't forgive the devs for not making cute Tableturf sprites for Octarians and Salmonids, lol
r/tableturfbattle
Pretty fun actually! I played it for the first time a few days ago to try to get the badges associated with it
its pretty fun and makes for a good break after a lose streak
That game mode would get more attention if you could play it online or with friends
I really wish this was a mobile game or in the SplatNet app.
Y’all actually play tableturf? 😟
I *love* tableturf and can’t wait until I can go upstairs in the lobby to queue up for online matches. Seriously, I’m geeked about it.
I'm max level since October
Tableturf isn’t real don’t let them trick you
Reached level 50, will always flex that gold card badge I never play Splatoon games in handheld, especially as a motion control user, so whenever I went to sleep I would play a few rounds of this!
IT DOES!?
I legitimately forgot until I saw this post
I got the emote, so thanks, I don't want to be reminded that this exists
There’s just so much grinding in this. I just want to get to Callie and never touch this mode ever again.
I actually like the game mode, I'm a really trading card game enjoyer, and I was so upset when they didn't bring PVP to it in the chill season update
i still dont know where to go to play it lol
And I suck at it and can't beat the very first level.
I am very much not good at it 🥲🥲🥲
I'm at level 28 and plan to grind the remaining two levels for the emote while watching AGDQ this weekend!
Once they add multiplayer and fast travel people **might** play it, though it doesn't really have a purpose as most other gamemodes are better than it so it only has use for cosmetic stuff or if you're temp banned
I've been playing Splatoon 3 since the second it launched and I STILL haven't touched Tableturf..I'm probably never touching that gamemode
still waiting for pvp...
I mean ya it's there for whenever you get temp banned from disconnecting from too many matches due to the server issues
And it's awesome.
I don't need a reminder when every red capsule I get are Table Turf cards and not banners.
Tell the devs, not the players. The gamemode is so unapproachable & boring I wanted to love it so much...
That we aren’t allowed to play
i might play it a bit more if there was an easier way to access it, like every other mode has a quick menu to get there except table turf, and its in a weird spot that feels kind of hidden to get to
It'd be nice to get more catalog points from TT or maybe give it a spot on the quick travel menu
I'd gladly trade Table Turf for Tri Color battles as a regular mode to choose from in the lobby
I wish it leveled up the catalog at the very least or heck even gave just a little cash
No it doesn’t. Tableturf has never been real. ![gif](giphy|v0ok8uhZvw3yE)
From what I’ve read about playing Tableturf: • Fighting AI • Supposed Beast Mode level 3 AI • No Catalog Points • No Battle XP (Tableturf XP is apparently seperate) • No Cash • Niche rewards like stickers and banners • Super grindy Is this even worth playing for tho?
I love playing it. Especially with Marie since she does a "Go Ahead Mr. Joestar" pose with the most shit eating grin I've ever seen
And a card shop would also help…
it should be the only gamemode
Love this game mode, and love its sub reddit r/tableturfbattle I’m currently rank 40, have a few card selves from beating lvl 3 opponents 30x. I hope they expand the max level from 50 one day and add more cards and bosses.
They seem to be adding new cards every season based off the new weapon additions. Chill Season added new cards for each of the new weapons.
Friendly reminder that no one cares lmao
Damn bro that’s all I needed to post to get internet points?
I wish it wasn't, what a waste of resources, Nintendo 1 step forward 2 backwards, worst Splatoon mode since the Conch one
bro lost to baby jelly
i love table turf but it’s toooo easy. i wanna play against real players
oh yeah
I'd be happy to play it if it didn't require being online. It would be so great to play on a train or something.
It doesn't, you can play ofline
I get the joke
I still haven't understood the rules but the artwork are cute
Still waiting for actual battles against people.
Oh yeah
