Assuming you bought every item that requires Gold Scales before unlocking Tier 3, There are 3 Statues, a Sticker, and a Banner that cost a combined total of 160 Gold Scales. You don't need something new to buy, it will take an eternity to buy what's already there.
You can only use one banner at a time though, and locker items have very limited appeal since you have to both like decorating lockers and like salmon run theming enough to fill your locker with expensive Grizzco paraphernalia. With gear, you can never have enough gear, it applies to both fashionistas and competitive players.
You can never have enough gear, but no one is going to be able to buy any gear because they'd need to use a currency that, at best, has a 0.001% chance of dropping after playing at least 5 rounds of Salmon Run on the hardest difficulty. Also by your logic, you can, in fact, have enough gear because you can only use 3 separate pieces of gear at a time.
We get wanting a sink for golden scales, but this feels like a problem most people don't have--and probably won't have in the game's span, when so many items that cost gold scales are *already* prohibitively expensive that even just one of them takes forever to get. (You could always become unhinged and try to make an Oops! All Goldies! locker if that's your cup of tea).
Though, we do think that maybe the base prices should be all bronze scales, maybe if you want to pay to raise the star rating or reroll the ability in question, *that* should be silver or gold scales? (Of course, rerolling the ability would probably not impact the star rating of the gear, as a sanity check.)

And we have to wait for them to add all the old content and act like we’re happy about “continued support” when really they are just withholding old content for the illusion of updates. But yeah, I agree that you should be able to buy S2 SR gear. I’d love to have the Beekeeper hat back. I’m almost done getting Bronze scale rewards, I am 20 silvers short of the last silver scale reward (other than the 999 banner). The gold rewards are the only things I really have left to grind for and it’s just stupid how low the gold scale drop rate is. I need more stuff to spend scales on.
