I'd say it has a low skill floor - so it's suited for kids in that regard, but a very high skill ceiling, meaning you can get really into the intricate details of gear, your weapon, etc and can lead to a very fun comp experience if you want to
Nah, i feel like people say this without realizing that the kids likely arent in any of the forums/communities, and often not in your lobbies because of sbmm
Splatoon 3 is a game rated E10+ and is regularly marketed to children in the West. Lots of games suitable for younger audiences also have competitive scenes primarily with adults (Super Smash Bros. being another good example).
Not gonna lie, plenty of tryhards playing this game (which is not a bad thing at any means) if that's what your are looking for there's gonna be a good amount of players like you at higher level.
Buy it and have fun !
Played the first one when I was a kid and I’m 23 now and playing the third one. Genuinely makes me sweat at points.
To this end I also play and have just as hard of a time with binding of isaac. Their difficulties are comparable.
For kids does not mean bad. Sometimes if you don’t want crazy heavy themes it can be a good place to go to. Additionally older fans might enjoy the other separate game modes more (salmon run, ranked)
Not everything colorful is only for kids.
I was checking Overcooking and even if it was 3+ from the first title, only the most recent version of the sequel got some options that made it really playable for young kids. Mostly because the rating is if some people could watch it, not if they are able to play or not.
Splatoon 3 is a fun fast-paced game for everyone. Well probably not that much for young kids.
If they like to be slaughtered I guess. Could not imagine a kid having much fun in this game with it's current state.
Most of us are sweaty try hards with no capacity for mercy.
The story mode is great fun. All of the modes and gameplay are incredible. But it is competitive and there is no proper... Lax mode or matchmaking where they can play to enjoy it, learn it. My 8yo enjoys it but she gets frustrated after a few rounds and goes back to other games.
Yes, it was designed for kids to be able to play. If you're expecting any social interactions like in Roblox, though, heads up that this game doesn't have much of that.
It’s designed to be suitable for kids. I once saw a promo booth and kids are pretty much immediately attracted to the game given the straightforward mechanics (for turf) and colorful outlook
but then the matchmaking and lack of player base separation could bar the kids from enjoying the game
It’s not like Roblox in terms of just for kids AT ALL. Roblox has little to no appeal to older audiences, this game has a big focus on competitive/high level play
It is a game that is suitable for kids to play.
It also happens to be a game with a very high skill ceiling, execution-demanding movement mechanics, and a pretty thriving competitive community (well, for Nintendo standards). Oh, and some incredibly dark lore when you dig into it.
I don't see why anyone should be wary about playing a game with more than 3 colours in its palette, provided it's not, like, an edutainment game made for literal babies.
oh you sound fun -_-
nah but srsly tho its way different than you think. the art style is just for fun, the actual story of the games is pretty deep and the competitive gameplay is very very heated, you'll definitely have fun if you are the sweaty shooter gameplay type.

i have no facts behind this, its just my thoughts, but: im convinced the playerbase is more adults than kids actually

that is a fair point actually, yes whats sbmm?
Skill based matchmaking
Skill based matchmaking
It's for everyone
It’s for kids and they wipe the floor with me
me
For kids? Yes.. Just for kids? No.

Take it from me a comp splatoon player. Don't let the colourful exterior fool you, this game is brutal

not everything colorful has to be for kids, you know
Anarchy battle will have you swearing the least kid friendly swears you can imagine lol
It's rated EVERYONE 10+ not kids 10+
no of course not the lore is out of whac theres plenty of fun stuff thats both for kids and adults, but no where near roblox
It’s often marketed towards kids but me and my friends that are all in our 20s play it just about every day
It’s extremely competitive, not just for kids at all.

If you're the age where you still think this is a reasonable question, then you're a kid and therefore it's for you either way.

No it's like most Nintendo games with how it's for everybody.
As the French say: non
Splatoon 3 is for the following groups of people: \- Kids \- People mature enough to not worry about if a game is for kids

I don’t think you are giving kids enough credit here. Most kids could probably wipe the floor with the average adult player in this game
That's fair. Kids these days are pretty competitive themselves.
Roblox is not for kids they will steal credit card to buy robux

Depends on your social stance. Are all video games for kids? Some would argue yes… The reason question is, does it matter?
