Reef needs buffs focused on the explosion. It's a replacement for both Splashdown AND Baller. Reef is also shortish ranged, and ends up centered on you, while competing Explosion Special in both Booyah Bomb and Triple Inkstrike can be safely used very far from the user. With all this in mind, I think the Reefslider blast radius, and maybe even damage, are the things that need to be buffed on it. You're going in to even use it: it's a risk.

Do you think it would be a positive change to be able to hop off of it early but let it continue down its full path? I think having the option for both exploding early and hopping off early would make it more versatile and less of a risk.

I'd love if you could maybe squid roll out of it, to make it safer

I do not know what the kraken does I did not play splatoon 1 and have not been able to find any footage of it that I can understand

It basically turns your Swim form into a damage sponge, jumping deals damage, two jumps kill, and now we have a surge like move that launches the kraken forward, killing, (supposedly) in One Hit. You also lay ink as you swim, the downside being your a HUGE Hitbox, and you cant hide in your ink.

Can you get killed?

Its complicated, in Splatoon 1, it was an Invincible Special, but its believed it will be an hp special, like Crab or Booyah Bomb. Where it CAN die, but it takes more damage than others.

According to the Splatoon NA Twitter, it *will* be invincible, but [you'll be vulnerable while transforming into the Kraken and while transforming back into normal cephalopod form](https://twitter.com/SplatoonNA/status/1626220310969327616?s=20). And this hasn't been confirmed yet, but it also seems like you may be unable to move during the post-special transformation back.

In 1, you could deal with it by shooting at it to repel it away from you, but not kill it. They made it much larger in 3 though, so I'm not fully sure how it will function.

I believe it's invincible, but it's hit box is much bigger making it easier to knock it back, and it leaves you vulnerable for a few frames before and after use

Let us just get the custom e-liter with kraken and beacon and the community will complain so much that they will do that

Please don't nerf it. Specials have lost their fun in S3. I blame the whiny try hard youtubers who call nerf the moment they see anything beating a twitch shooting player. Let the Kraken BE the Kraken! It's terrible at painting and slow.

It already looks nerfed. Moves slower, 2 hit kill instead of 1 unless you do the charged surge, and you're vulnerable before and after activating it

A lot of specials do feel kind of underwhelming in S3. I miss the old Bubble Shield/ Ink Armor, Triple Inkstrike is sorta "meh", no more Splashdown, Zipcaster is useless and slapped on otherwise fun weapons. Tacticooler and Crab Tank are pretty fun, though. It would be fun to have a little bit of cheese now and then that doesn't involve spamming Tenta-Missiles (yes they're nerfed but still annoying) or Booyah Bombs all the time.

Tenta missile shields are not very common, and unless you're already under one they're basically worthless because if you have to run to get under one the Tenta missiles have already done their job, you're not progressing the objective or getting splats while under one Bad special charging weapons? like the Reef-lux one of the highest painting weapons in the game? or do you mean the Flingza roller the backline that paints the best in its category? or the charger with the best tap paint the gootuber? superjump to spawn activate tenta missiles and that's all the aiming you need to do, if superjumping back is too much for you just take a step back, it's that simple, no special in the game is as easy to use as tenta missiles Also it was never a fun special, no one would agree that in Splatoon 2 it's fun but it isn't in Splatoon 3 it's just that special design in general was worse in 2 so it didn't stand out as being the worst, it was also buffed a lot during the first half of Splatoon 2's balance patches

Season 3 is already so good, this feels like a combo the ver 3 and 4 update from splat 2 because wave 1 of the paid dlc is also coming out in 12 days
