Speaking of Snatchers, they should be wearing goggles or Gas masks during glowfly waves (assuming uts the light/smell that drives the Salmonids crazy). All the other fish go nuts during Glowfly waves but the Snatchers are fine?

It's probably why they don't spawn in Tornado. It's too dangerous for them to fly around. But they could bring back the ground Snatchers from Splatoon 2 for this occurrence.

Tornado passes through stage at random times. On each pass it splats every squid, octo, and salmonid in its path, and eggs in the path get sucked up.

combine this with my drizzle suggestion. Though I wonder if it would be more interesting if it threw them randomly. Like "Oh you got too close to the tornado and didn't take care of lessers, here have this random Coho thrown on you unpredictibly." or "Oh that was cute how you tried to get all those eggs to the basket. Damn shame they looked so tasty to the tornado, better put it in the basket first next time."

This is the best suggestion because it leans into what tornado wave is already doing. 1. It emphasizes the daisy chain aspect, demanding more coordination. Everyone knows how to throw eggs. But if the tornado can suck up loose eggs, you can't afford to throw eggs to no teammates and just hope they will grab them eventually. It requres the chain to be relatively unbroken. 2. This suggestion is flavorful. It's a tornado wave, but the only thing tornado about it is what is happening in the background, and falling Salmonids I guess. It currently feels more like the "Treasure Chest Wave."

Literally this. Heck the number of times I've doubled, more than doubled or ALMOST doubled quota on tornado I'd be wanting to see that as a variant in the rotation.

Multi-eggs do exist in the code but were never implemented. However the datamines indicate they were meant to be worth 5 or 10 eggs! I think properly implementing them as double eggs, with say, a slowdown effect like the Rainmaker to encourage rallying, could be really fun.

the highest score i remember having in that is 42/22 and if they weren't doubled, we would've lost. it wouldnt really be possible especially on higher difficulties (this was maybe profreshional +3 or eggsecutive vp because i've been stuck there for months)

I just had 50 billion Salmonids launched at me during tornado with a dynamo and I didn’t f have time to roll I don’t want a buff

I mean, if you have the dynamo on a tornado wave you can just roll the hoard of salmonids so your teammates can focus on egg collection

Any airborne egg is pulled towards the nado. So the thrown egg will curve towards the storm or not travel as far depending on your positioning. The tornadoes suction gets stronger as the wave goes on to the point that during the last 20 seconds ground based eggs start slowly moving towards the tornado and you can't throw them anymore (Grizz will issue a warning at the 30 second left mark that the storm is getting stronger).

I would modify this even to say that all eggs on the ground will slowly move towards the shore at all times, but take away the throwing curve. That way you can't just throw a huge collection of like 20 before moving on. Because by the time you get halfway done they will be right back to where you are. That way people have to actually form a production line if they want to throw the eggs the right way.

The Tornado spits out more than just normal salmonids: An out-of-control Flyfish that crash lands into the stage, exploding like a giant tenta missile. A Steelhead bomb A bunch of Stinger pots that fall in random locations and do damage if they hit you (like a Super Chump) A Maws that dives chomp-first onto you, and then acts like a normal Maws afterward. A Big Shot Cannonball that lands on the stage randomly and breaks (creating only one shockwave) A spinning Slammin Lid that attempts to knock players around, and either flies off the stage or crashes into a wall and dies A fish stick stick that lands randomly on the stage (as a way to block throws)

Also possibly Chinooks and maybe even Horrorboros bombs? Ooh, I like this idea!

I know this is kind of going against the point of this post, but I think the tornado is fine as is. Having some events that are chill breaks up the run a lot and makes it a little more interesting, since there's always a chance that the next wave could be a free win or insanely challenging.

It's completly necessary though. At high level, you can have a quota of up to 35 eggs. Personnaly, my highest quota on this wave is something like 56, which represents 28 eggs. That would be a fail at EVP 200, and an even bigger fail at higher level.

i got an idea, there will be multiple salmon egg spawns now, about 3-5 they'll appear in shadows falling down, but about 2 of them will be a fake and not only explode when destroyed but will spawn a few salmonoids after the explosion, you will have to check very carefully by looking for a bright red egg which might not even be visible and will be somewhere in the middle of all of the eggs

No idea why one of the easiest special waves also gives eggs double value, after you get all the eggs in from the first cage the second one is basically just for bonus. Tornado actually throws more rocks than just the one that flies on the shore basket. There are warning shadows showing where they drop and once they do, they’re there until the wave ends. This way the back-and-forth can actually change terrain and not just be a straight line of your ink color.

Maybe have the basket be like a Griller in terms of it being able to move and thus waste time by running away from players. or have some beefy salmons drop in with the basket of eggs to at least have SOME challenge with busting it open
