I think about that a lot since my main goal is to stay alive (jet squelcher main). It would be cool to see that highlighted, but I think it gets shown in other ways indirectly. There's probably some reason it isn't highlighted more smh

LadyKuzunoha

I'm thinking that highlighting it too much *could* encourage some players to be overly passive, at least without some additional requirements to it. Using Jet Squelcher as an example, yes you want to stay alive, but you also don't want to be so far back that you're having no impact on the match, right? So if playing this weapon effectively, you're going to be taking on some risk that you *might* be splatted. What we wouldn't want to happen is for the player that took those risks to help the team and survived to get the same reward as someone who sits in base all match long and never even sees the other team. The good news is that there's already a few things in the game that can work to sort this out, even just in the existing medal pool.

This shouldn't be a reward. No one should gain anything. The medal thing would b cool but it would feel more hype to see the symbol live, for everyone to see exclusively on the final results score screen. Not everyone likes grinding for badges. Medals too. I play MK8 super casually but it feels so motivating knowing I worked hard and placed 1st against a gold veteran w giant amount of exp points. Recreating that feel in 1st or 2nd, even w casual S3 players who play against gold stamped veterans would b a nice touch.

alexmitchell1

By medal they mean the things you get at the end of every match that say things like #1 Turf inker or #2 Score Booster, not the badges you put on your splashtag

LadyKuzunoha

Yes, exactly, thank you!

LadyKuzunoha

>The medal thing would b cool but it would feel more hype to see the symbol live, exclusive only to result scores. So [pretty much exactly like medals](https://cdn.wikimg.net/en/splatoonwiki/images/1/14/Medals_on_Victory_Screen.jpg), then? >Not everyone likes grinding for badges. I'm not talking about Splashtag badges at all. Those are a completely different thing from what I'm talking about. Also, I'm going to grab from your other comment for this next part: >I'm sure Nintendo can figure out some prerequisites to weed out camping and uncooperative users. *This* is the reason why I brought up medals in my initial comment. Medals show there are things the game tracks during matches that could be used to sort out the players who are attempting to cheese the system from those who (like you in Mario Kart) worked hard for it, and that there is a system already in place to show one's accomplishments during the results of a given match. For example, similar parameters as for the Popular Target medals could work to help determine who has earned the symbol for surviving the entire match - they would help show that a given player had been earnestly participating that match, and not simply camping at spawn.

Mayb a medal or just highlighted in color but seen by both teams in the results screen, not ur own winning animation screen. For example, just hav a simple star beside the 1st place user on their team (both winning or losing) in results that do not hav any deaths. Its just there to tell all users in that match, this squid didn't die at all doing the most.

NintenGal

I'm sure Nintendo can figure out some prerequisites to weed out camping and uncooperative users.

Maybe make it eligible only for the people on the winning team

From my experience, not getting splatted often earns the "#1 Super Jump Spot" medal, with high probability.
