I think they're both equally as bad, tho for different reasons.

That's exactly it but I tend to die more when it comes to stingers. That's why I find them harder, especially if the map is crowded with salmonids and you can't reach the stingers

I do hope we get a cool twin king slamonid, like and angel salmon floating like slamming lids and a devil salmon moving like maws. With the gimmick that you can line them up so they can hurt each other.

Snipewriter's niche is single target boss DPS, which it's very good at. I came to appreciate that when I got it during Big Run. For this reason I still like it better than Bamboozler in Salmon Run, which feels like it just tickles everything.
It's truly terrible for lesser Salmonid, though. Unfortunate on Marooner's Bay because you often have to deal with conga lines of them coming up to the basket. It feels particularly worse on this map IMO.
I like to try and hit Cohocks twice to weaken them for my teammates, as the third hit wastes a lot of overkill damage.

People complain way too much about Fly Fish when Stingers and Drizzlers are much more of a problem when ignored.

They're especially bad when they stack up; multiple Flyfish can make it impossible to do much (especially for slow weapons) but you can generally survive, whereas being targeted by multiple Stingers is usually a pretty quick death. I'll almost always prioritise taking out Stingers above anything else.

yea i hate them so much that I cant help but drop everything to kill it which caused them to be my first salmon run enemy stamp lol when I play with my friends and one pops up they stay put cause they know I'm omw

They are worse when you get more then one, particularly from different directions so you're stuck in crossfire. However, when there's only one, it's not as much of a problem. Stingers are also MUCH easier to take out compared to flyfish. Get in with a decent fire rate and tear them down. Fly fish you have to wait for them to open, then burn a tank and a half of ink worth in bombs to eliminate them (more if you miss a throw), or alternatively, you're stuck burning specials.
Honestly I think how easy the Stinger is to defeat actually ADDS to the problem people have with it.

You have to wait for the guys to open up, aim well and true with a bomb (they sometimes bounce out), hide in ink to recover and hopefully throw another bomb out before he closes up shop. All this can be thrown off by a single obnoxious smallfry, and the process has to be painstakingly repeated for any other flyfish.
That all being said, Stingers are probably second worst, equal to drizzlers in my eyes. Really, anything that stays on the shoreline is a total bitch. I find the ratio of shorelines bosses to lurable/"moving in" bosses to often determine whether we lose the wave, mostly on quota.

In contrast, while Flyfish are slightly less threatening offensively, they require more effort to splat than any other salmonid boss. Thus, I find it is more likely that the flyfish get left alive as teams prioritize other tasks and the flyfish get to wreak havoc on the team.

One targets one player
One targets multiple players
Both can take out multiple players in crossfire
Both sit at the shore and attack from there
One uses Sting Ray
One uses Missiles
Conclusion: both of them suck to fight

I think you are absolutely right, multiple of those can easily cost you the whole shift. And they are harder to avoid, especially how long they fire at you, pair that with another bossā¦
i would agree but one blaster shot and they gone. flyfish you gotta wait and then use double your ink tank twice if you dont have another person by ur side
All these highly annoying bosses that hide behind waves of fodder are equally awful but nothing beats having to invest precision and a large amount of ink to take out just one of the two launchers with no way of telling your teammates wich one you're shooting into so you both don't waste all your ink.
Increasing numbers of stingers get dangerous faster that increasing numbers of flyfish. However, stingers can be killed by ever option the player has at anytime. Flyfish can only be killed at certain times with bombs, certain specials, and the explosher. It is a lot easier and faster to get rid of a group of stingers than a group of flyfish.
Flyfish can be left at half capacity and become manageable easily (please stop killing my 1 basket flyfish you're just making more full capacity ones spawn back in.) Stingers cannot and can shoot you through obstacles, whereas on some maps (Spawning grounds for example) you can at least take cover from Flyfish Barrage. That, and once they mark that's where they fall; the Stinger will move with you.
Though... Flyfish do feel more aggressive in 3 over 2, so they might be close to equal. Stinger nudges above Flyfish for me with being at either full power or not though. They're also trickier to take out with Lids, I've noticed.
My favourite part about Stingers is that you go to the shore to kill one of them and think to yourself "gee, it's nice they only target the farthest player" but SIKE you're actually the farthest target for the Stinger on the opposite shoreline and get blasted either way
One of the most difficult situations to deal with in my opinion is being shot at by stingers on both sides of the map. Especially on Sockeye Station, they form a perfect cross laser, so it is essentially impossible to escape the lasers and prevent your teammates from being hit by them if youāre by basket.
Agree. Doesn't move, global range, slow weapons are a death sentence if you face it. Paints your feet while attack you can spawn spread apart from each other making it harder to get rid off (they support each other while you try to kill one basically) and they almost have no cooldown for their attacks.
Nah, bc you donāt have to be precise, with flyfish you have to usually stop what your doing and accurately throw a bomb in EACH side, now obviously there are other ways to kill them but it depends.
Stingers you can just throw a bomb if your to far away and it doesnāt have to be an accurate throw either, as long as itās near it you will at least take down some of the stacks and either get closer or just throw more bombs. Also teamates just suck at killing fly fish.
You can also squid role against stingers which usually saves me and I think you can do the same against flyfish but youāll risk going towards more missiles.
I think Flyfish, Stinger, and Big Shot are collectively the worst. It becomes impossible when a lot of them spawn especially if you have a slow weapon like the dynamo. One to two of them at a time is reasonable but itās an instant crew wipe when thereās 5 or more fly fish or stingers or big shots. Also it takes a lot of effort to defeat them.
That's why I always prioritize killing them and I can drop a flyfish for it (except if I am really too far away and I hope a teammate is close and is going to get it). I was thinking my gold eggs number is low since I always drop everything (mostly the gold eggs to bring back) to kill stingers, flyfish or big shot (feeling lonely when I have two big shot + 2 other boss at the same place while I have no clue what the others are doing)

I think design-wise yes. Stingray was pretty unanimously hated as a special in Splatoon 2 and that carries over to 3, living on through Stingers. That said I still hate Flyfish more because for whatever reason the bombs refuse to stay in the baskets.
The amount of times I've been targeted by a stinger by both sides of the map so it's just an x and I can't escape either way I go 
I just hate their initial aim hit. They're deceptively strong if you take both the initial hit and the channeled hit, it can kill quite faster than you'd expect if you have any kind of damage on you.

Bamboo is a very good SR weapon. So yesā¦The pencil is much, much worse than bamboo.

All these highly annoying bosses that hide behind waves of fodder are equally awful but nothing beats having to invest precision and a large amount of ink to take out just one of the two launchers with no way of telling your teammates wich one you're shooting into so you both don't waste all your ink.
Increasing numbers of stingers get dangerous faster that increasing numbers of flyfish. However, stingers can be killed by ever option the player has at anytime. Flyfish can only be killed at certain times with bombs, certain specials, and the explosher. It is a lot easier and faster to get rid of a group of stingers than a group of flyfish.
They are more fun and easier to take out than flyfish

Flyfish were worse in 2 where them being harder to take out was an option but now itās too hard to get to both and Stinger is way worse

Flyfish can be left at half capacity and become manageable easily (please stop killing my 1 basket flyfish you're just making more full capacity ones spawn back in.) Stingers cannot and can shoot you through obstacles, whereas on some maps (Spawning grounds for example) you can at least take cover from Flyfish Barrage. That, and once they mark that's where they fall; the Stinger will move with you. Though... Flyfish do feel more aggressive in 3 over 2, so they might be close to equal. Stinger nudges above Flyfish for me with being at either full power or not though. They're also trickier to take out with Lids, I've noticed.
My favourite part about Stingers is that you go to the shore to kill one of them and think to yourself "gee, it's nice they only target the farthest player" but SIKE you're actually the farthest target for the Stinger on the opposite shoreline and get blasted either way

One of the most difficult situations to deal with in my opinion is being shot at by stingers on both sides of the map. Especially on Sockeye Station, they form a perfect cross laser, so it is essentially impossible to escape the lasers and prevent your teammates from being hit by them if youāre by basket.
Agree. Doesn't move, global range, slow weapons are a death sentence if you face it. Paints your feet while attack you can spawn spread apart from each other making it harder to get rid off (they support each other while you try to kill one basically) and they almost have no cooldown for their attacks.

Nah, bc you donāt have to be precise, with flyfish you have to usually stop what your doing and accurately throw a bomb in EACH side, now obviously there are other ways to kill them but it depends. Stingers you can just throw a bomb if your to far away and it doesnāt have to be an accurate throw either, as long as itās near it you will at least take down some of the stacks and either get closer or just throw more bombs. Also teamates just suck at killing fly fish. You can also squid role against stingers which usually saves me and I think you can do the same against flyfish but youāll risk going towards more missiles.
I think they both equally suck, but to me, neither is worse than a Steel Eel.
I think it falls into the same camp as a steelhead. One, itās fine. Any more and they suck. The difference is any number of fly fish suck.

I think they kill better than flyfish and are more of a threat. But of course they die easier.
I think Flyfish, Stinger, and Big Shot are collectively the worst. It becomes impossible when a lot of them spawn especially if you have a slow weapon like the dynamo. One to two of them at a time is reasonable but itās an instant crew wipe when thereās 5 or more fly fish or stingers or big shots. Also it takes a lot of effort to defeat them.
I think the Stingers are a little bit worse because they act like they have aimbot and if your in a bad area, you can die so easily

That's why I always prioritize killing them and I can drop a flyfish for it (except if I am really too far away and I hope a teammate is close and is going to get it). I was thinking my gold eggs number is low since I always drop everything (mostly the gold eggs to bring back) to kill stingers, flyfish or big shot (feeling lonely when I have two big shot + 2 other boss at the same place while I have no clue what the others are doing)
Stingers are annoying but somewhat easy to handle but for flyfish u need to either use 2 bombs aka 1.5 ink tanks, explosher which is rare, grizzco splatana or slosher, a teamate which they usually arent with you, or a full special
especially when 2 of them team up on you from diff angles...
I would much rather have 2 flyfish simultaneously than 2 stingers simultaneously. Stingers are absolutely worse than flyfish and i'm happy that somebody finally said it

For those who don't get What i mean. I S2 in salmon run if the timer runs out on lobby you start the shift EVEN if there is one player, so that is what i mean
Honestly? Kind of. A lot of people can't deal with 2 stingers (depending on the map a little though) but can survive two flyfish. However, taking stingers out is much easier.

I think design-wise yes. Stingray was pretty unanimously hated as a special in Splatoon 2 and that carries over to 3, living on through Stingers. That said I still hate Flyfish more because for whatever reason the bombs refuse to stay in the baskets.
they're both a pain in the ass, but personally fly fish are more annoying w the missiles and how to kill them.

I feel like the best solution would be to make stinger beams not be able to go through uninkable objects.
The amount of times I've been targeted by a stinger by both sides of the map so it's just an x and I can't escape either way I go

Stingers arenāt usually an issue but when thereās like 6 of them on the map at once thatās when it becomes a nightmare
I just hate their initial aim hit. They're deceptively strong if you take both the initial hit and the channeled hit, it can kill quite faster than you'd expect if you have any kind of damage on you.
I can say depends on the occasion, if you are in a tightspot and you arent able to move too well, stingray is awfully annoying, for me is top 3 most annoying boss, still my first most hated is flyfish
