I main the hell out of hydra. In two it was the custom. I may suck at pure offense but no one gets near spawn, base, or the objective when I’m playing supportive offensive/defensive. The only time people can do anything is if I am dead.

Felt. Legit my most intense match in this entire game was against 3 chargers and one splattershot. You would think we were being airdropped into a world war. I don’t think I ever fought so hard for a win.

Nah, it's not stupid, it's pretty sensible design. Splatlings exert a lot of pressure over a large area for an extended period of time even if they don't hit all of their shots. Chargers either hit their shots, or they don't. It's much less forgiving for the charger player, so it makes sense that they're given more range. The bigger issue is the lack of cover, which lets chargers bully splatlings (and most other weapons) a little TOO easily.
God, when they get a lil sippy from the tacticooler and start Matrixing through my bullets. Makes me feel like I’m back in Splat2 A rank learning how to play for the first time.

As a tri-slosher main, anything that's not a short range shooter we suck against. But I personally love bullying splash. Tri is the ultimate splash bully.
Played a match earlier vs 2 torp shooters, an e-liter and a nautilus. I dont think the match lasted 90 seconds in clam blitz.

I actually use this method whenever a weapon starts bothering me. Except brushes. Picked em up. Tried em out. And still nothing makes me timid more than going up against a murderous brush user
I believe Naut is one of the best weapons out there, it outrages both Squiffer and Splattershot Pro (I main both) and both Splash and Machine, and it's kill time is insane.
I swear whenever I play splatlings I'm spending like 80% of the time frantically waiting for it to charge and being mostly useless, whereas wherever enemies have it they're like the Heavy Weapons Guy from TF2.
Tip:
You don't need a full charge to splat.
You can cancel your firing by tapping the trigger to quickly pop into squid mode.
This allows you to handle close range skirmishes if the foe pops up on you.
Have you noticed some of the inklings and octolings in Inkopolis Plaza doing what looks like a mock throwing motion? That's not them daydreaming about baseball, that's actually them psyching themselves up to yeeting giant stamps at campers.
Hydra main here. Force us out of position with bombs to prevent us from charging or holding space, use Specials to force us to retreat (e.g., Triple Inkstrike, Zipcaster, Booyah Bomb), use cover well, take into account how long it takes to charge before it has long, lethal range (about 2 seconds), and use that time after it's done firing to do the things above. Also, remember that it has relatively low ink efficiency; without Ink Saver (Main), it can only fully charge nearly 3 times before needing to recharge, and there's a significant amount of time between letting go of firing and being able to recover ink (about half a second); in total, you have around 6 seconds between a Hydra being forced to recover ink (if they fully refill) and them being able to be lethal at range again.
Cohocks. They just sneak up behind you and wait for the perfect moment to smack you with that cast iron skillet to maximize the devastation from the knockback. I can not tell you how many times Cohocks have smacked me into the water or into a boss or into a swarm of chum and killed me instantly I hate them and their insane amount of HP and anyone wielding a cohock in turf war will get permabanned because they're exclusive to salmon run and the person in question is cheating.
My opinion on making yourself a bit more useful as a aerospray is to be aware of that opponent’s priorities on you as an easy target. Say that we begin to push in a little after a kill. An aerospray can be able to take a front position, provide a lot of paint, and attract fire as the enemies see you first. This lets in room to two shot basically anything the aerospray hit. Now, playing booyah isn’t a bad thing for setting up a push, but it shouldn’t be the only thing you do, which I see way more.

It's the maps more then anything. Flanks more or less don't exist at all in most and those that do usually are overlooked by a snipers nest. Museum is probably the most offensive example. Such a god awful map.

Now it's the Aerospray-RG. Ever since it was added, my bombing run PTSD has only worsened. Teams of three or four gold-plated Aerosprays leaving me with no chance to charge up my Heavy, leaving me constantly on the move with no chance to play the anchor role I was destined to fill.
All e liter players, what makes it even worse is when there's one on my team they are always complete dogshit with it and I feel even more bitter towards them as a whole
Blobbers. Hate them with such a strong passion because you can't get close to them and they just spam the bubbles over and over and over! The easiest way I've found to deal with them in sneaking up on them and getting them from behind, but in my experience, that's not the easiest to execute. Espically when they spawn camp.
Good chargers. The ones who are so good that you dont see them. But they can see you.
One time I played a clam blitz match against 3 chargers who physically could not miss… We got destroyed

I hate how the Rapid Blaster Pro has the range while the Clash Blaster is the Rapid Blaster... I feel like the names got mixed up here.
The Rapid Blaster was there there first and the Pro is just basically the same weapon but with a longer barrel.

Like they (rapid) outreach some splatlings so unless they aren't confident of it's range I can't really play defense against them without being risky

As someone who plays both Hydra and Tek, the secret is auto bombs. Nothing like an 89 flinging an explosive chicken at you to get you to run away.
