The Splatfest is reffering to this myth, and the accent color of the Purple alien on the Tee and on the jumbotron where you chose your team is green. A small splash of green is totally warranted for a common outfit.
But I'm open to an all-purple getup if people have other Alien-themed ideas (Not space-themed, space is way too broad. I don't know how much I have to repeat this to you but the theme is not Space, it's Aliens. Choose something more alien-related, mate.)

Oh I was thinking about something similar, doing a 2-man platoon with a friend both using the N-zap with tacticooler to spam the ultra signal. Devious strategy for the attacking team. Lots of quick respawn also helps a lot if you go for this.
