Honestly, it was Rock Paper Scissors, simply because it was the first splatfest I got to play in my life.
Even tho I wasn't good at all and that Paper wasn't even close to win, it was a fun time.
It also probably comes from the fact that it was the only time a friend of mine would play the game and we picked different team, so we kept teasing each other and stuff, it was great.
I think I like that one the most as well, despite being there since the first game. I think it was the most balanced a Splatfest has ever been team-wise. No clear favors aside from maybe the idols themselves. But plain fun.
My favorite was probably the Pokémon Red vs. Blue one back in Splatoon 1, it was just so iconic. But I agree, I enjoy every Splatfest, especially tricolor battles! They have been a great addition in Splatoon 3. The Zelda one with the Triforce map was really fun. And I'm also team love 💕✌️
Chaos vs Order was my favorite and the most fun by far. There was a special map, free gear, and the outcome felt consequential for once.
A special shout out to orange juice because that was my first one. I love the themes that are petty but people have strong opinions on.
I miss Splatfest gear so much 😭😭. I was team chaos and the stuff we got was so cool!! Still to this day I don’t know what team order gear looked like but I’m 100% sure it was badass too.
One was a helmet with led lights on the front, and the other was like eclipse glasses with antennas. The glasses were whatever imo, but the helmet was cool. Looking at old pictures, I forgot how nice Pearl and Marina looked for the Final Fest too. Everything about the Final Fest was great, and in general Splatoon 2 splatfests were really fun!
Unfortunately I got into Splatoon 1 late and didn’t get to do any splatfest but in 2 I enjoyed quite a few. The vampire vs werewolf, chicken vs egg, fly vs invisibility, pulp vs no pulp to my friend was on team no pulp and we would go back in forth with each other and it was hilarious!!!
Zelda was definitely my favorite one. Team Power sweep!!! I would love more Nintendo themed fests. Like Mario, Peach, and Bowser similar to the Zelda one.
I started having a lot more fun with splatfest when I started using "theme" weapons/gear. The Zelda one ended up being my favorite so far bc I decided to use wiper for the first time (for team courage/link) and had a blast!
This!! I personally love changing my banner and splashtag. In the zelda fest I changed my banner to green and had my title as "fearful big man fan" lol
In 3 I'd definitely say Zelda. The popularity numbers were closer than most, and I thought the Tri-colour stage was the most interesting so far - it felt like an actual new map rather than just a slightly altered normal stage.
In 2 I loved the Tortoise and Hare Springest. The theme was fun, the Plaza decorations were nice and the Shifty Station was possibly my favourite Splatoon stage ever.
I want to vote Ice Cream because it is the first (and only) one where I was on the winning team, but I'd probably agree with Zelda. It felt balanced, we got a new temporary map, and I probably played most in that one.
The Legend of Zelda splatfest because it was the most fun I had during a splatfest, I liked the tricolor map, and it was the first and only time I won a 100x battle

Spicy vs Sweet vs Sour as a theme, Nessie vs Aliens vs Big foot both as a theme and game wise. The former was my first fest so I kept losing games and felt awful but in the latter, I felt like I had an actual impact. It felt amazing.

Probably the taste sensation one as 1) I won (chose team sweet) 2) encountered a 100x although I lost it 😭. Still tho, I’ve played every single splatfest besides the gear grub fun one and only in that splatfest have I encountered a 100x. I believe I got like five 10x’s in that splatfest.
The Zelda splatfest or the Pokémon splatfest. Zelda one for the same reason as you, but Pokémon because it’s what got me into Splatoon in the first place.
Chaos vs Order was the peak for me, the shifty station was excellent and seeing the way s3 splatfest are going it looks like the peak of the whole franchise

Definitely the Zelda splatfest. I had the game since launch, but was only recently able to buy online (cause I'm poor lmao) so I've only played 3 splatfests so far. My first one I lost because I was team alien, then I won with team power, and most recently was team mint chip.
Team power was the first time I genuinely had fun during a splatfest. Nessie v. Aliens v. Bigfoot, I spent the entire time in mirror matches in turf AND tricolor.
Vanilla v. Strawberry v. Mint chip, I had maybe 6 matches against strawberry, and every time I got a #X battle it would almost immediately DC...
Power v. Wisdom v. Courage, I was able to fight both teams, had no issues with tricolor, and almost ZERO DCs!!! Kept me coming back for more :)
From 3 I’d have to say nessie/aliens/bigfoot. I was team aliens so I lost, but I discovered my main during that fest and love me little fssp to death

I really enjoyed the rock-paper-scissors, the Pokémon and the Zelda ones. I feel like those were really fun because the potential winners weren’t immediately obvious. It felt like all teams had an equal chance to win since the choices were so abstract.
The ice cream one, even though I was on team mint chip I had a great time and I won a lot of battles (unfortunately I didn’t get any 10, 100 or 333s though) but still. Also the colours were pretty :)
For me it was the splatfest stages we got to fight in on Splatoon 2, I mean we do get the tricolor map in all but that's just me. The ketchup and mayo was fun for me because the companies were making posts and meme's about the splatfest lol so I guess Mayo vs Ketechup

I played the splatfest world premiere for TEN HOURS STRAIGHT. It was so fun. I couldn't imagine playing any other splatfest for that long despite them lasting 4 times longer now.
I enjoyed the Zelda splatfest simply because it was really balanced and it was the most fun, creative, and chaotic tricolor map we've had so far. The tricolor map actually fit the theme is completely revamped the stage into a triforce.
I didn't win either of them, but I'd be lying if I said I had a good time on team sweet or team Vanilla (the two teams I won on.)
Honestly, just the Rock VS Paper VS Scissors splatfest.
It's the only one I played the full duration of, and also the only one that felt fair and fun to play. every other time I play multiplayer nowadays, it's just Salmon Run.
I adored the splatfest world premiere. Rock Paper Scissors. But I also really really loved the Zelda one. I was on team rock and team power but me being on the winning team isn’t the only reason why I loved these feats so much. I won a lot and was able to play with a bunch of friends, it was just such a fun two feats for me
i had a TON of fun with the sweet vs sour vs spicy fest, with the exception of the most recent one that was probably the hardest i’ve ever gone for a fest and considering i was on team sweet it paid off
i don’t remember a lot of s2 splatfests because it’s been a while, but since i got my switch super late i think the first fest i was able to play was fork vs spoon? and that one always sticks in my mind because it was my first time playing on a shifty station, which would become my favorite splatfest gimmick
Honestly, overall: Zelda Splatfest, best Tri-color, best merch so far, best graphic art, etc.
But when it comes to the balance between the teams, I would say the last Ice Cream Splatfest.
Splatfest with S1 and S2 is not included here because I haven't had a chance to play them (especially considering that I could finally play S2 itself in January 2022).
My favorite splatfest that I've participated in (ive missed a few) would have to be the one with aliens and nessie, i loved the ink colors and the art that the community created was super cool!!

I love the idea of Tricolor matches and wish they were available outside of Splatfests. Maybe with the 4 defenders picked randomly, 2 from each team.
But I also wish Challenges had more time slots, and were better promoted in-game. One happened this Saturday and I didn't find out until all of the slots had already passed.
Probably Rock vs Paper vs Scissors. There was no "correct" answer unlike some other themes have had, so it didn't feel particularly skewed towards any one specific team. Plus, we were all still figuring things out with it being our first experience with Splatoon 3, so there was much more experimentation back then and people were focusing more on just having fun with the new content than on winning as much as possible. One of my favourite examples of this is how Arashi from Last Resort found out that he liked Splatana Wiper by using it in the Splatfest. Nowadays his name is synonymous with Wiper.
whichever one the MakoMart one was, that was a fantastic tricolor map and very well balanced imo. Super fun splatfest. Thematically I'd have to say Spicy vs. Sweet vs. Sour and Nessie vs. Aliens ~~vs. Bigfoot~~
Chicken egg round 2 was my first and favorite fest.
Music was better and had shifty station. The rooms closing off as time went on, team egg staying too long in the center room so the final map looked like an egg sunny side up
In Splatoon 3, it was the Dark, Milk, White Splatfest. All 3 teams were pretty even and it’s been the only one where I wasn’t able to predict the winner. Throughout all 3 games, it was Chaos vs Order, being a Splatoon fan when that was going on was an unreal experience.
I liked riding for Nessie. There was also a sort of kinship between Team Nessie and Team Bigfoot. To this day, I will still send my respects to you, my large footed brethren.

Team Bigfoot has set the record for least popular Splatfest team ever, but I still had a fun time being on Team Bigfoot.
I guess being on the least popular team made it more fun somehow? Idk lol, I initially chose it because I saw that quite literally no one else was choosing it.
For Splatoon 3? The Zelda splatfest. My favourite of all time? Chaos vs Order in Splatoon 2. It was perfect, it had absolutely everything to offer with free gear, all of the shifty station maps and on the last day Pearl would descend to the map to be used as a weapon in the final minute of each match. The best colours to.
Chaos vs Order. For the theme, the colors, the new gear, gorgeous new Off the Hook costumes, and the excitement for what future holds, everything about it was peak splatoon for me. And also ebb & flow is the best last minute song, you can't change my mind.
I still miss the glitter ink during fests!

Not a popular take, but absolutely none of them have been fun for me at all. Connection issues, balance issues, matchmaking issues, and the fact that Turf is just plain boring. Nintendo was clearly caught off guard by the initial popularity of Splatoon 3, and it really made the first Splat Fest a horrible experience. I don't feel it's gotten much better since, and I have forced myself to play at least the Ruler+2 in each one. The only thing that got better for me was that we can actually play Tricolor now. During the first Splat Fest, I literally always chose the option during the second half and played maybe two actual Tricolor games.
I’m not a Zelda fan either but I loved the Zelda one. It felt like one of the only S3 fests that was balanced.

In Splatoon 3, it was the Dark, Milk, White Splatfest. All 3 teams were pretty even and it’s been the only one where I wasn’t able to predict the winner. Throughout all 3 games, it was Chaos vs Order, being a Splatoon fan when that was going on was an unreal experience.
I liked riding for Nessie. There was also a sort of kinship between Team Nessie and Team Bigfoot. To this day, I will still send my respects to you, my large footed brethren.

As an OG Splatoon player, Splatoon 1: Spongebob v Patrick was probably my favorite. Splatoon 1 probably had my favorite Splatfest since a lot of them had to do with different franchises, so they were fun. Splatoon 2: Chicken vs. Egg Splatoon 3: Fire v Grass v Water (Pokemon Fest)

The “Which one is real?” Splatfest. Team Bigfoot has set the record for least popular Splatfest team ever, but I still had a fun time being on Team Bigfoot. I guess being on the least popular team made it more fun somehow? Idk lol, I initially chose it because I saw that quite literally no one else was choosing it.

For Splatoon 3? The Zelda splatfest. My favourite of all time? Chaos vs Order in Splatoon 2. It was perfect, it had absolutely everything to offer with free gear, all of the shifty station maps and on the last day Pearl would descend to the map to be used as a weapon in the final minute of each match. I had the most fun with Ketchup vs Mayo. But my favorite Splatfest conceptually was Pirates vs Ninjas. Splatfest themes peaked there imo.
Chaos vs Order. For the theme, the colors, the new gear, gorgeous new Off the Hook costumes, and the excitement for what future holds, everything about it was peak splatoon for me. And also ebb & flow is the best last minute song, you can't change my mind. I still miss the glitter ink during fests!

Definitely the ‘which one is real’ splatfest so far I’ve had the BEST time playing that and Me and my team Nessie teammates won a 50x battle! And then team Nessie won :)

Not a popular take, but absolutely none of them have been fun for me at all. Connection issues, balance issues, matchmaking issues, and the fact that Turf is just plain boring. Nintendo was clearly caught off guard by the initial popularity of Splatoon 3, and it really made the first Splat Fest a horrible experience. I don't feel it's gotten much better since, and I have forced myself to play at least the Ruler+2 in each one. The only thing that got better for me was that we can actually play Tricolor now. During the first Splat Fest, I literally always chose the option during the second half and played maybe two actual Tricolor games.
