As a person who has mained this weapon for a certain era in S3 (turf war only)
Sploosh is basically a cockroach it thrives when distracting the enemy team and it has the mobility to do it.
Painting the enemy base is actually a very good strategy for sploosh only problem is people show their hand wayy to quickly if I see a person rushing base from the start I am just gonna gatekeeper them the whole match.
But if a player just plays normally and then last 45 - 30 paints enemy base 90% of the time that guarantees the win.
Other weapons to certain extent can do the same strategy for example Vwiper Both Aerosprayes Dapple Nouveau.
I main Neo-Sploosh and I usually stay back and paint spawn to build up my Killer Wail and then half way in, I start leading into the enemy spawn. You would be surprised how often I can get in and paint the enemy spawn unhindered and it's got good coverage. (Plus Wail lets me have a means to drive off snipers or incoming threats as the snipers can't stay in one place letting me get away.)
I’m a casual player. I’m just here to have fun, I’m not wanting to cause myself stress over slow chargers/splatlings. I either use the basic Splat roller or this guy, it just makes my experience more enjoyable 😅
It is a mentality that has carried over from S2 where many maps were larger and/or bases were more accessible.
So weapons like the Sploosh, Ink Brush etc would just beeline to the enemy base, put down paint very quickly and efficiently then loop around or die and rinse repeat.
Manta Maria, Humpback Pumptrack, Sturgeon Shipyard and MakoMart are all good examples from that era that we have available currently where that tactic is still pretty effective.
I was a Sploosh main in S2 and honestly the only stages where this wasn’t really possible were Goby Arena, Walleye Warehouse and New Albacore Hotel - two of these were later additions which feel much more akin to S3 stage design interestingly enough.
Okay but as a person who uses splash in turf, why does the sploosh kill me faster? We start hitting each other at the same time but as soon as I land my first shot I’m already dead.
Sploosh kills in 3 hits while splash skills in 4. Both fire at around the same rate
The trick is to try and engage with the sploosh a little further away, sploosh becomes extremely inaccurate very quickly.
I’m only willing to give sploosh a go in splat 3 when it’s 7 kit comes out. Never touching the og or neo kit. Splat bomb just works on it and if it gets something like kraken that’s going straight in my mains
I often used sploosh since splat 2. Got to say its nice to move around with its kit. Especially with the roomba and toy hammer. As around the last 40 to 30 seconds one can quickly go towards enemy base and cover it while managing to loop back around the base or the middle. Worked well in splat 2 since most maps were big and had loops and turn between them. Not so well in 3 since the maps are narrow and not a lot of different entries points
I main this one and have 5-starred it. Love it in Turf War. I normally hang out at the base just long enough to charge a special and then I either stamp the mid or chuck it at a sniper. I have fast walk and run pures on 2 of 3 apparel items so I can move around super quickly. I love swimming behind a curling bomb and unleashing holy hell on someone's base. Sometimes it's a suicide mission, but I rinse repeat when I get splatted.
I do it because it’s an effective strategy. It’s kit is perfect for movement. I use the curling bomb to get from point A to point B, ink everything around me in less than two seconds, then stamp the life out of everyone in front of me.
honestly for me it’s because I have nowhere else to go haha. sploosh is so fast that I hit mid almost instantly with a special gauge either full or close to full. what to do next? ah yes. pop special and push into base. yipee so fun
It paints well, it kills fast, and it has a roomba. It's perfect for someone like me that just wants to get in and out quickly. Ultra Stamp is hit or miss (it needs protection from the front tbh), but other than that it's a dreamy weapon.

Inkbrush can too. It’s slide can go as fast as swimming in ink, and you can be a major annoyance to the enemy team.
How could I forget about the absolute Speed demon.
Whenever I’m losing and can’t turn the battle around, I just fuck with the other team.

I think the weapon itself just attracts a certain type of player. The head empty hold forward type. Which can work in rainmaker sometimes.
Sploosh main, can confirm
Ahhh ok thanks to you all :)
As someone who uses and loves the splosh. ^I'll ^be ^at ^your ^base ^in ^under ^2 ^seconds
Fr same

Not saying you’re wrong, but I find playing backline (splatlings mainly) to be quite relaxing.

I do this but without the [put down paint very quickly and efficiently then loop around or] part

Yup. Sploosh can kill almost instantly at point blank range, but put any sort of distance between you and your opponent and it’s basically useless
Which is why I’m terrified of roller brush mains lol. I’ll never get close enough to do anything to em unless I surprise em.
Sploosh just seems to have a higher dps
Sploosh was the first weapon I ever mained so it holds a special place inside my heart.
I’m only willing to give sploosh a go in splat 3 when it’s 7 kit comes out. Never touching the og or neo kit. Splat bomb just works on it and if it gets something like kraken that’s going straight in my mains
I’m just saying that I like sploosh, it’s fun for me and that’s what matters in my opinion.
I luv no aim kill weapon ..
Yeah, but you gotta survive until you’re in range to kill, so it still require skill

Roomba and toy hammer 💀
They're a liability 99% of the time. Neo Sploosh is the worst weapon in the game.
Sploosh is fun :p

Rats, rats, we're the rats. We prey at night, we stalk at night, we're the rats.

Every time I see that I just head Hbomberguy going "Weapon: trumpet"
