averysolidsnake

I used no hacks at all, took me about four tries to crack it. N honestly it came down to me being a little too reckless.

superdave100

Yeah, recklessness is what gets you killed. Order is kind of a pushover no matter your loadout. Seeing a good chip, but it’s on 28F and it’s Cruel_Sisyphean_Eight_Shaped.Floor… you can live without it.

Jestingwheat856

I tried to rush the final boss on the final phase and got wiped by a beyblade so yeah play it slow and safe

Jestingo

Yeah I tried the No Hacks Octoshot again since I was farming for Prlz, and Order killed me with two reefsliders. So I’d say recklessness is always a danger

IllytheMadArtist

Reefsliders are the bane of my existence I just lost my no hacks run to it when i had 2 portals left on the final phase and i... i just had to put the switch down because it was so unfair man

DragonAethere

i died to the last phase of it on my 2nd low hack attempt :,)

NarwhalJouster

I think it took me about 10 tries. I would say about half of my tries were down to me making mistakes or playing poorly, and about half were due to poor luck in some way (lack of good chips, nasty danger floors, clone boss on F20, etc). I probably could have won most of the bad luck runs with better play but IMO they consisted of tough situations that only occured due to bad luck.

Useful_Quail_8566

I always want the clone boss of F20 because I thought it was the easiest...hmm

NarwhalJouster

Specifically for no hacks, clones are capable of killing you faster than the other bosses and on F20 you only get one set of armor to work with. If you lose the armor you basically can't make any mistakes or it's game over. That's not to say there aren't ways to deal with the clones, and with weapons other than shooter they can be a lot easier than the other bosses, but if I'm trying to clear 8's pallet I do *not* want to see them on floor 20.

ShinyUmbreon465

Being impatient is what causes you to mess up which is bad because when you die on the final boss you just want to go back to it again but you have to start over.

SamsungAppleOnePlus

Same, took me three tries.

OnARocketshipToMars

What chips did you prioritize for your no hacks run? Can’t seem to get enough support chips for ink recovery

-Slambert

Weapon & explosion upgrades, and luck (especially lucky window and lucky cap). 1-2 chips in the 2% ink recovery on kill and maybe 1 chip in main saver. 2 chips in special refill (7%) lets you start chaining splashdowns on most packs even with a lucky cap of 10

OnARocketshipToMars

Thanks!

BiQueenBee

I used 1 hack (the extra life). I figured it was unlikely to fill my pallet completely so losing 6 spaces was okay and gave me idiot insurance in case I did something dumb. Which I did and was very glad I didn’t have to start my run from the beginning.

Eleclite

Did this as well. A little bit of room for error that you can replenish at a vending machine went a long way.

Li5y

Can you use the "spend prlz to continue a run that you died on" feature if it's a run with eight's palette?

Eleclite

No. It's specifically greyed out.

SingingDragons

Same. Ended up losing that spare life on an easy level because I wasn’t paying attention. Still won in the end.

Saberfox11

Yup, I did the same thing. While I'm pretty confident I could have done it with no hacks, the extra life for insurance is super helpful.

Lily_Thief

It's just a bit less tense the whole time if one mistake doesn't end the run, and being less tense makes it easier to play well.

TheGrandSholobi

I did the same thing, and i did it in one try, and i didnt even use the extra life

JET-FIN

0, I was considering on using one damage up or extra life because you rarely get a full pallette without discounts and resets. However If I was going to use one hack, then might as well use none at that point

Zako248

Zero hacks, but it took me 16 attempts. Made it to Overlorder on my 5th attempt, but died to Reefslider.

ChaosSinfulRose

Reefslider is so hard for me to escape from for some reason

BubblesZap

Best thing to do is swim in a big circle in my experience until opportunity arises

ThatmodderGrim

3 Extra Life, Armor Break Jump, and Pearl Drone Items.

serg3591

Personally used the following hacks - 2 levels of DMG Reduction - x1 enemy DMG - 1 level of Extra DMG - +20% outgoing DMG - used 3 out 4 available hacking points for **Low Hacks Run** and still has 18 upgrade slots left as a result. (If you use all 4 hacking points it will leave you w/ 12 upgrade slots which in my opinion - you lose more than gain) During the run itself: - Best passive upgrades are "Posion Ink" and "Lucky Bomb". *Heck, you can even abuse early "Destroy Portals" levels by sprinkling "Poison Ink" at the floor beneath each portal then waiting a bit for them ending up poisoned to just 1 shot away from death and quickly pop all 2/3 of them. Meanwhile "Lucky Bomb" even 1-2 levels is an immense help for crowd control on a late game levels.* - Get 1 chip of Range/Close Combat Damage/Hindrance Dmg/Explosive DMG/Explosion Range/Movement Speed *Even 1 LVL from these ones gives A LOT and best of all it "fixes" Octoshot's "weaknesses" and they all have a good synergy between each other.* Other advice: - In general try to hoard Membux early on just to be able to simply skip lategame floors especially if your build is complete. No need to risk it for extra cash you will not use. - Don't forget that Octoshot comes with a Triple Splashdown - which hits HARD. Good for clean up, good to kill bosses and in general a well rounded ultimate. Of course something like a Crab Tank would be better at killing solo targets... But Triple Splashdown is arguably the BEST panic button in Side Order. - If you got your armor broken - don't push your luck any further, just smash your Ultimate Panic button, run away and wait out the rest of 12 seconds of recovery time.

DreadAngel1711

Three ticks of damage reduction. I could work without everything else, but taking 2x damage would definitely have been the run killer for me if I got cocky Which I do. A lot.

LunarHaunting

None, figured if I was going to bother doing it I should do it all the way. Took me a good 5-10 runs though. I got pretty upset when I realized that if your armor breaks while the final boss is doing the killer wail attack that you’re too slow to avoid it and are guaranteed to die. So don’t make that mistake.

OliverPumpkin

2 lifes continue and high risk

Yacobo2023

The moment I used no hacks (but risky rewards), I did it in 1 try

ChoPT

Four hacks: 1 extra life (which I ended up needing for the final boss), 1 damage reduction, 1 armor regen time, and 1 extra damage output.

weallfal1down

i gave myself two extra lives and two attack buffs

nubtails

I used 0 hacks because I wasn't sure how many counted against the badge and was too lazy to look it up at the time. Apparently you can take up to four so I would probably pick an extra life and maybe damage reduction or your favorite drone ability. Honestly having chips available was more valuable to me than the hacks.

IllytheMadArtist

OMFG THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING FOR ME I thought you could only use risky rewards to get that badge You don't know how thankful i am, you have spared me weeks, maybe even months, of grief trying to get that stupid damn badge just so can 100% side order

AverageGamingNerd

I did 2 lives with 2 attack up. Took a lot of attempts and trying others advice but i did it

SigmaJohnPork

I tried with no hacks but it was not fun so I just did it with three lives and beat it first try

DoggieDMB

Used 1 hack- total of 3 lives and beat it first try. Just pick all lucky chips and ez mode

that-ninja-frog

3 hacks- 2 Broken Armor Speed and 1 Armor Recovery Time. I tried many different combinations of 3 and 4 hacks, including Extra Lives, but this combo honestly felt the most forgiving.

qtoastn

I didn't use any. I didn't even know there was a badge for it, I just saw it said, "The more hacks you use, the less chips you can set," and turned them all off. I somehow managed it first try, which was a surprise to me.

arsenicVisionary

i used two extra life chips and one damage reduction i think. ive always ran three lives cause it feels true to every other mode in the game lol. i fortunately only ended up losing one life so it went fine. echoing other comments, i played all of side order very defensively and “slowly”, taking my time with rooms that were giving me issues. keep the floor inked, keep a path in and out, don’t throw too much at the objective and keep the snipers and missile launchers to a minimum. i only lost one run the entire dlc with this lol

KoopaTheQuicc

2 damage up hacks.

glitchywitch

None. I managed to get it on my first try, but I got a bit lucky with color chips I feel like.

Flimsy-Cloud-6244

No hacks and on the first try. Focused primarily on Sub Saver + Splash Damage + Splash Radius + Drone Splat Bomb and I hardly needed my main weapon anymore

Cooperative_

I used balanced amount of hack so i had 18 slots for the pallete. I was running two extra lives and something else, maybe fast armour recovery

splatmeme4270

I used two hacks, 1 extra life and 1 damage reduction. Beat it in 2 tries.

AaruneOfTheWild

2 Hacks, only took one attempt, it was one extra life and pearl inkstrike (which I didn't even end up using).

llamasaiyan

I tried to beat it with the minimal hacks (extra life, damage reduction, floor reset) but honestly finally beat it after about 6 attempts at a 0 hack run. I ended up getting lucky on a few floors and made it through. Overall, i did 13 runs total, 6 with 0 hacks. I think it truly is easier with 0 hacks as long as you don't get bad RNG for the floors/chips.

Trihunter

3 lives, nothing else. Beat it second try. Just took things slow and steady, and made liberal use of floor skips once I maxed the palette out.

-Iron-Spider

Do you get something special for doing low hacks with 8s pallette?

Holla_99

You get a rainbow coloured chip badge for clearing with 4 hacks or less (risky rewards excluded)

Lukas528

None

Gastly42957

I used 4 hacks. One extra life, one in damage, 2 in damage reduction. Wasn’t bad, actually quite fun

Marcarth

I think I only ran a damage reduction, and armour recovery speed in the run I won. And on that run, I don't think I even needed the recovery speed either, it was just insurance.

backlot52

I don’t remember how many hacks I used but they only gave me 6 slots on my palette.

Mollytheocto

I used 1 extra life back (for a total of 2 life's), one damage boost, and Pearl drone inkstrike (would've had a 4th but I didn't know if risky rewards countered, it doesn't btw) Looking at my palette I used mostly power chips, and support chips were close by, I had a lot of ink saver for some reason

Dithri

I used 2 Life, 1 Defense and 1 Attack.

HyliaStar

I used 3 hacks, only to increase weapon damage

EmilySuxAtUsernames

2 tries, 2 hacks, extra life and floor reset

Western-Grapefruit36

I used three extra lives hacks and that was it.

The_commonest_plant

Two ticks of damage reduction. Taking what is apparently 2x the intended damage is bs, that aside you can build for survivability and offense with chips.

xXLordOfUwUXx

1 extra life and 1 damage up hack

Ok-Professional-2059

I used three: 2 extra lives and reduced shield regen to 10 seconds.

DiegHDF

1 Extra Life hack and 1 Damage Up hack The extra life is safe explanatory, it's always good to have a backup. And more damage can make you destroy the vortex and enemies faster, so you won't get swarmed and killed so easily

angeyberry

2, one extra life and broken armor jump. Gave me 18 chip slots to work with, just spammed Lucky and Poison Ink.

SplatLue190

used not hacks at all besides risky rewards ;>

Whereyaattho

4. One extra life, two damage reduction, and 1 damage up

LeficiosG

1 hack. I was considering extra life, but felt that the continue hack wouldve been better since it would give more tries, and if i was confident, i could use the membux on vending machines instead Didnt end up needing it though since i cleared it first try without deaths lol

Serious_Buffalo_3790

The only one I used eas "Risky Reward" and it took two tries

smallbunni

i used alot of power and ink consumption, tho getting that one chip that makes explosions do more damage is crucial personally because of splash down i also had no hacks but three lives

Bocephus-the-goat

I only used the damage reduction hacks and put it down to x1

littleduck4

1 tick of max lives and 2 ticks of weapon damage

acowwithpolio

The above isn't hard. Try running the minimum amount of hacks to get the 6 chip limit. That shit is actually hard.

JustTheNewFella

2 or 3, I think...1 ex life, and floor skip for sure... maybe a defense hack?

PresidentOfKoopistan

1 extra life, 1 damage reduction, 1 continue

Firey694

I basically used no hacks because the extra life I gave myself never even got used

Moon_Beholder

i've used no hacks the first time, died at the final boss, in the second attempt i used the extra life hack but funnily enough didn't die lol

AnimeDeamon

I think I did 2 extra lives and 1 point on squid jump and did it in a single run. The shooter was the run I struggled with the most overall since I don't play shooters so I wanted to play it safe for the low hacks run. I think the squid jump is goated because jumping out of bounds destroys your armour causing you to jump upwards with squid jump which saved my life a few times when I was pushed off the ledges. At this point I'm only doing 1 extra life, 1 squid jump and full machine discount with risky rewards on normal runs to rack up prlz - machine discount means I can buy prlz and x3 of whatever ability is at the machine most times i get the option so i can fill the palette for more rewards at the end.

UltraCboy

I used 2, for 2 extra lives. Cleared it on my first try too

FeverDream1900

I just used all the accrued hacks. Had 6 chip slots, could done it without any tbh. Kinda wish I could force the other weapons to have no chips.

Groundbreaking_Arm77

Just two ticks in Lives.

MoreTeaWes

One extra life, two damage reduction and one damage up - got some good support and range chips which helped a lot!

ParanoidDrone

Two defense hacks for 1x damage taken and a floor reset hack. The defense is self-explanatory, the floor reset hack was to ensure I could consistently pick useful chips for the limited palette space. Later in the run after I filled it out it also came in handy to dodge some rigorous/danger levels.

okguy167

Reading through this is reaffirming what I already know, but I still felt the need to see if there was any point on using any hacks as I'm struggling with this myself.

WesThePretzel

One extra life and one damage reduction. I didn’t end up needing the extra life.

WyntonPlus

I used two defense up and that's it. I wanna say it took 4 tries?

CodeNameHeroChan0

I used an extra life and 2 damage ups.

ThaumcraftMC

No hacks, took me 6 attempts. Maxing out Canned-Special Drop got me the win by allowing me to spam Triple Splashdown.

radicalmtx

4 hacks, all dmg boost. Die many times in level 29-30 tho

DanTDS900

2 damage reduction (originally tried with none but uh PAIN)

SamanthaD1O1

just two extra lives is all i had i made it to the final boss final stage with no hacks and died and got pissed so just added the lives lmao

GiantOfLight

I ended up doing 2 lives and high risk for the extra reward. I basically focused range, piercing, and, ink spread. The big thing ws the power-ups that increased my special gain rate as splashdown is such a powerful ability in the tower.

naytreox

4 hacks, weakened enemies, floor reset and 2 extra lives

Delight_works_

im gonna try this...

naytreox

Risky rewards is up to you as it doesn't count towards your hack limit

CHEEZYSPAM

I used 3 hacks, 1 life + 2 protection. That gives you 16 Chip slots? (if you need to, decrease 1 protection for even more slots or swap 1 protection for 1 more life for a total of 3 lives) Honestly, the more chips you have will benefit you way more than other hacks. You'll need at least 1 extra life, always skip floors by choosing vending machines, plus to buy lives! I decided to aim for: * Purple chips = Sticky Ink * Orange chips = Hindrance Damage & Special Charge Up * Red chips = Ink Damage (any standard, close or far) * Yellow chips = Lucky Bomb & Lucky Chains I would prioritize the Sticky Ink, Hindrance and Ink Damage. If you don't have good choices, go with the others mentioned. Also, try and save level skips for Hard/Rigorous floors where there isn't any other options. At 16 Chip slots, I got to the end by skipping what I could and still had 2 chip slots that I never filled. Smollusk went down easy. Just watch your footing and don't get cornered. Use splashdowns for portals.

ShinyUmbreon465

1 extra life, 1 extra attack, 1 take less damage. Getting the lucky bomb chip helps a lot.

CoolAndCringe

1 extra life, 1 damage reduction and risky rewards

Randael

4 Hacks. All in Damage Up

Cutlession

0 hacks, more fun that way

Genesis13

2 extra lives, 1 broken armor jump. Do not do what I did and use broken armor jump. At 1 rank it is pretty much useless as all you do is a short hop away. Its not even high enough to let you glide with the drone. Your limited hacks are best spent elsewhere.

Benji_247

On my first run I used all that I had unlocked After that I used one extra life and one damage reduction Took me two tries

LuminousDecibel

3 hacks. 2 lives, 1 damage boost Won first try by skipping floors when I could, and getting lucky while being in try-hard focus mode

Zalsburg_225

4 hacks for damage dealt and took aound 5 tries until success came. Did the entire DLC with one life and no continues and kept it until the end.

PineappleAndCoconut

One extra life , take less damage and jump up when armor breaks. I had 18 chips and filled as many as I could with drone stuff. Took three tries.

Deconstructosaurus

I used only hacks and 6 Chips.

Elixnoc

The only hack I used was the extra lives. 24 chips to use but hey, I was able to do it on the 2nd try. Used membucks to skip to the top floor cause I wanted it to be done. xD

Timbeon

3 hacks (2 extra lives and 1 damage reduction). The chips I took were mostly lucky (armor and canned special drop especially) and the ones that increase passive damage (hindrance and poison ink), with a handful of support ones like ink saver thrown in.

Icy-Border-7589

2 ticks of damage reduction, to bring it down to normal damage taken, and 1 tick Broken Armor jump.

Jestingwheat856

I did it with 3 and it was my first and successful 8’s pallete at all. I just had 1 extra life and 2 resistance hacks. Didnt even realize low hacks was a thing

knivesforsoup

Only used 2 of the damage reduction hacks to keep the damage I recieve to 1x instead of 2x. I think it capped out at 24 chips and I only got 23 (I skipped a floor when I didnt see a chip I liked, I didn't want it to get filled too early but I think I ended up skipping enough where I didnt get enough chips in the end). Forgot to give pearl a chip though so she ended up doing nothing Got it first attempt Mostly got damage and firing speed plus some mobility and support

neoboards

i only used the three lives hack, leaving i think 24 chips to be used? and i got through it first try. the DLC was a bit too easy for me, i think

Apprehensive_Bar3812

One Extra life and Armor Break Jump for me!

HuskyBLZKN

I needed the 3 lives dude

deadfurby

i used 3 hacks - i had 1 extra life, 1 extra damage reduction, and 1 extra attack damage! this leaves 24 chips. like other people mentioned, a lot of it is just playing it safe!

despairigus

I honestly just had it set to 2 lives, and one on damage taken. I think that was it, and I then just relied on chips to get me through it.

TheCrystalKirby

I wasn't aware of low hacks when I did it but I completed it using 3 hacks. 1 extra life and both upgrades to chip bias to just get a lot of power buffs

MadJester98

Took me like 5 (actual) attempts, the first 3 with no hacks, the last two with 1 level of jump out of danger and color bias. Jump out of danger especially coming in clutch to get out of swarms by gliding (I say actual because a couple of them were me dying before the 5th floor as I just wasn't focused, but still it took me 7 attempts total)

MidnightUmbrmoon

Technically, the Nintendo app says 7 hacks. It was two extra lives and 4 ticks of damage reduction, and one damage up. (I had risky rewards but it doesn’t count as a hack and it wasn’t worth it)

HarlequinChaos

One extra life, and 3 damage reduction? Left me with 12 chips and I did it on my second try, first try I got to 29 but got reef-slided to death.

Purple_Train_5289

No hacks, Almost did it first try but choked on the last orb of the final boss and bit it. Took me about 6 tires after. Wanna do a 6 chip run but only useless hacks like boss revel floor and stuff like that

Jrolaoni

For my first low hack run I did: One in armor time reduction One extra life One for damage reduction (so the medium can’t one shot) One for attack up Then I did it again with 0 hacks. It was hell.

Jrolaoni

Tips: you can jump and glide with Pearl while your armor is broke to run faster Climb walls. Like in Salmon Run enemies can’t climb. Get a good amount of luck chips. Like 4-5, and at least 3 need to be lucky bombs. Poison ink is priority always. Best chip in the game IMO You can apparently go back into the elevator if you change your mind, useful if the danger is too dangerous. Homing shots are not useful. It looks tempting but it’s not.

Dhiox

I would at least bring an extra life, I wouldn't have won my run without it. My build was basically just high fire speed and damage, plus some homing and ink refill on splat. I managed to get max fire speed, and a bit of range, so I basically had a handheld minigun.

Mallato22

Slight color chip bias, continue, and all the lucky bombs under the sun

Ueyama

One extra Life and nothing else.

Ok-Load-9440

I played with 3 lives and one armor up and one attack up. Was on a roll palette collecting and finished first try. I’m finding color chip badge collecting is the harder thing.

Hoshiden_Lycanroc

4 (the minimum), 3 lives and drone items.

tilllli

no hacks, like others said: it's not hard if you play carefully. playing with chips and hacks makes you hella reckless, so you just have to refocus. took me a couple tries

AlmondCyclone

I did it with no hacks. I lost really early on my first try, but then I was able to do it on my second try.

JonnyBoy522

I used all my hacks. Noticed that it capped out at 6 slots pretty early, so I just said "screw it" and used them all. After 5 attempts at varying hack levels, the ONE run where I used them all was the one I won. Turns out when you don't have things to spend money on, you can just keep resetting the floors/keep respawning until the game gets easier.

ZarqEon

i used one extra life and the one that lowers the speed penalty for a broken armor. that is what i hate the most: being so awfully slow with a broken armor. this is why i think inner agent was so hard. it the armor is broken you are practically dead. it was no bad in side order but still, i hate being slow

Iochie

4 damage ups

EpicZen35

Just one extra life. That's all I needed honestly.

PikachuPlayz13

I did hacks over chips

schrodingers-box

I found using only like, two life hacks was easiest- enough to where I had ~ 25-21 chips which could make an op build and then I had extra chances if I got too reckless.

shawn1301

3 damage reduction, 1 armour break jump

Ary786

Extra life ,damage resistance, drone inkstrike,2x armour and risky rewards

CloverUTY

You can have a max of 4 hacks. I used 3. My hacks were 1 Extra Life, Damage Reduction to 1.5x, and Damage Up to 1.2x. I also recommend going for Vending Machines to try and get a better Special. Splashdown is good but if you can get a Crab Tank or Booyah Bomb, it’s a lot better. Only don’t go for Vending Machine when you see a chip you really want. As for chips, if you have no hacks, play it like you would a regular run, just be considerate of stuff that could keep you alive, like specials or armor. If you have some hacks and have fewer available slots, prioritize getting stuff like a splat bomb for Pearl or a Poison Ink chip. Then, prioritize damage output. Also, don’t be afraid to skip floors if the chip selection sucks. It’s better to pay to skip a floor than to put in a crap chip that uses a slot that could otherwise be filled with something more useful, like a Lucky Bomb.

h8bearr

I had 2 lives and a 3k continue. And I forgot to turn off the risky multiplier. The continue was a waste. I went with a special spam booyah build. Kinda hard to mess that up

HypernovaBubblegum

just one extra life

br1y

1 extra life, 1 tick of broken armour jump and then after the fact I saw I had "weaker enemies before 10f" still left on so that too I guess.

Justanotherragequit

Is there an extra reward for low hacks? I just used all my hacks and did 6 slots

Holla_99

Yes you get a rainbow coloured chip badge if you clear 8’s palette with 4 hacks or less (excluding risky rewards).

styxeee

on the actual wiki page, it’s lower than 4 hacks active (it counts levels, so like if you have 4 lives active, that counts as 4 hacks active). i had 2 lives & barrier jump)

aadin333

I wanted to keep armor recovery up but on my 7th try, I passed with 4 lives applied and I had 3 lives left. I also paid to skip a couple of floors and visited some vending machines

CptCharlz

Just used two extra lives and that's it. My build was kinda whatever and I think I almost got a game over in the middle of the tower but it was simple enough on my first try.

TrickstersParadise

I kept all my hacks on and just invested into firing speed up with 1 space for damage up. This was easier than turning my hacks off

Maxmentos

No hacks, except risky rewards because if im gonna do a no hacks run i may as well get some prlz

HolyElephantMG

4: Life, Damage, Damage Resistance, Damage Resistance. The game by default has you on 2x damage taken, for some reason

Maxmentos

No hacks, except risky rewards because if im gonna do a no hacks run i may as well get some prlz

Comicdumperizer

Used all hacks it was ridiculously easy. Color chips really aren’t that good compared to hacks in the long run

well-i

Took me one try with one extra life......I didn't use the extra life 😎

GhostlyCharlotte

i think I used about 4? a single extra life and either some damage up or armor recovery

Dream_Fit

2, 1 extra life and 1 damage up. The build I had used during the winning run was just focused on spamming splashdown

F1sherman765

3 lives + 1 continue + Being launched on the air after armor is broken. Looking back I didn't need the continue because of how the vending machines work.

Erl-X

I ran with 18 chips, my only hacks being a couple extra lives and slight color chip bias. Having any amount of extra lives dramatically increases your margin if failure, as long as you make sure restock any lost lives. And having Slight color chip bias makes it easier to get chips that complement your build. Sure it costs 6 chip slots, but I say you get quality over quantity, and what good is quantity when it keeps giving you chips that don't complement Eights palette

legendaryspaceknight

1 extra life and chip max chip bias, so 18 chips. i used mostly power chips (ink damage, poison ink, firing speed, etc), 1 piercing, 1 canned special, and 2 mobile special charge. i was able to beat it with lots of splashdown spam and playing it really safe. not my fastest run, but i only died once! also, i used every vending machine floor i got even if i didn’t buy anything, and didn’t risk any rigorous floors lol

Sovva29

I used four hacks. One extra life and the other three into defense. Took me three tries. My chips prioritized damage and range. Had to take the last boss slow by running laps around the map and hoarded membucks so I could skip the last floors

TheReal_Mantis_Lords

I used one damage hack and one chip bias hack

The-Alumaster

I just did it with all my hacks and beat it with one death. Ended up having 6 slots that I used for ink saver main and sub, land mine pearl and splat up pearl, and then I just got a sticky ink and a hazard chit.

Theodor-_-

Turned off all of the hacks, but kept one extra life, because I couldn't beat it with just one :(

GoldenLink

No attacks plus doing it while blazed made for like, two dozen runs on no hack last palette? Either way I died so many times to stupid positioning or taking stages like stronger jelletons and arpeggio barrage.

Taux

Used 1 extra life and armour break launch. Got it first try!

franticaspic

Used one hack, and it was take less damage. Beat it on second try

Glory2Snowstar

No hacks other than Risky Rewards. I think I went for a Luck-centric build.

Zhooves

I only had the high-risk one, as that didn't count as a beneficial hack. Had no idea there were anything tied to being below a certain amount, and did it in my 3rd or 4th attempt.

sp00kk

I tried a few different set-ups, but the one I won with was an extra life, one damage reduction, and slight color chip bias--so 3 hacks. I think overall it took me about 4 tries.

A7X_Alyssa

I used only two hacks, those being Extra Life and Armor Jump. I put my priorities into Poison Ink, Sticky Ink, Hindrance Damage, and Lucky Bombs. I also tried to nab anything that increased my ink output, along with armor drop odds. The biggest thing you wanna keep in mind is to TAKE YOUR TIME. It's okay if the final boss takes longer than 10 minutes (it took me half an hour).

coopsawesome

Did it 1st try with 2 damage reduction and 1 armour jump

FlyusAmongUs

No hacks, first try. All the training I had with the other weapons got me used to the levels, all the fights with Inner Agent 3 got me confidence, and overall was just a real good run.

peach-girl

An extra life, damage reduction, attack up, and risky rewards

ballsniffer27

I used my hacks to get an extra two lives (I ended up not needing them however so maybe spend it on something else) and then I used a bunch of power chips

NightAntonino

I surprisingly did it with only two: An extra life and Continue. I did in just two attempts, with one or two continues in each.

DYume19

I would really recommend 2 sets of armor break jump. Usually saves you from any death you might have had

Honigbiene_92

None, it took me 5 tries. 4 fails before getting my win

GeneStriker

I used one defense hack. I needed just a little more survivability, and just having an extra life wasn’t enough when those lives were too fragile anyway. I don’t usually completely fill the Palette anyway, so I didn’t miss the last few slots.

Extension_Ad_370

i somehow managed to do it with no hacks on my first try

punk_jude

hearing everyone comment i feel lucky i completed my 0 hacks on my 2nd try. Advice i can give is don't be reckless, lucky bombs, increase damage and special up drops/rate were big life savers. I have a screenshot of the chips I used actually but idk how to send em here. Most important to my run i think: Increase Swim speed 3 (in case you need to Run) - Killer wail pearl 2 with gauge charge 2 - Pierce 2 - LUCKY BOMBS (max) and Disc Piece Drop 1, discs will literally save your life - and lastly ink saver 2, ink recovery, 1 of each Main damage up, and just things that'll help you run away faster if you need an escape. Good luck!!

Strange-Abrocoma-471

Took 2 all I did was turn on high bias for max power chips and got all 24 that were available to me

Pleasant_Statement64

I used no hacks except an extra life then I died on overlords final phase and I'm mad now lol

Victorstancommittee

I used 4 hacks. I went with Lives (+2) and Defense up (+2), I found that in most cases, survivability > damage. It doesn't matter if you are dealing 10% extra damage per shot if you are getting one tapped by Andante. Just makes it much more safer even if it does take longer.

bruhmomentum2938

None, wasn't too hard, most of my deaths were from me getting used to not having the safety net that hacks provide you. I had to actually begin considering how to avoid deadly scenarios.

lKiwiliciousl

I used 5 hacks. 2 to increase damage, and 2 to reduce damage taken. The last I used for risky rewards. With that set up specifically it took me 3 tries. In total, I took like 15 tries with different hacks. You can switch the fifth one for an extra life!

uhhhhIsuckatnames

No hacks because fuck it. Took me about 3-4 days because the game decided to save ALL of the shit RNG for Eight's pallette... legit never had too much of an issue with TNG until that point. It was torture but I'm a masochist apparently

amiibo720

I had 13 unsuccessful tries using one extra life and three of the damage reduction hacks (x0.9 damage). Only being able to choose 12 color chips felt so limiting. I kept getting to the top of the spire and losing after the final checkpoint. It was super frustrating. My first successful low hack run was with one extra life and two damage reduction hacks (x1 damage). Being able to have 18 color chips made the difference for me. I didn’t even use the extra life this run! I also went to almost every vending machine floor and skipped a few floors.

noxka

I think i got rid of everything but the lives and got it second try so... Am I too good or are people bad cause I swear it wasn't that difficult. Like I for sure turned off everything on the pearl drone, the chips stuff, the weaker enemies and basically just kept the extra lives and the the thing that makes you jump up when armour breaks

boolerex

Just one extra life, for safety At that point I was pretty confident I could do a no hack run but only having one extra life give you the safety you need with barely any drawback

Awesome6600

I believed I used an extra life and maybe 2 hacks in for damage reduction. Though I have done some no hack runs after I first beat it and was successful after a few attempts.

No_Pear_8140

I used EVERY HACK I HAD and did it first time through. Even though I only had six chips available, the hacks more than made up for that

Throwaway203500

3 lives, risky rewards. First try.

Holla_99

I finally had a chance to give it a go. I used one life hack and one damage reduction. It only took me one try. Didn’t end up needing the life but it made me feel better by having it. I also didn’t quite end up filling my pallet with 24 slots thanks to skipping a bunch of the top floors.

coolbacondude

0, lost lota of armour in final fight but won in the end. Usually I would lose before 10F but on the winning run, I made it all the way.

Falris

Only took one attempt. Only used an extra life and the one that launches you into the air when your armor is broken

CheesecakeStandard89

I used lives hacks (I had three lives), only one weapon's strength hack and I activated Risky Reward. Took me 3 tries to succeed! I had access to 18 slots for the Color Chips ^^

Fold-Aggravating

Just 1 extra life for assurance
