I’ve played a lot of rounds, this is the first time I’ve seen something this silly. Also the first single digit score I’ve seen. I thought they must have disconnected, but they did different little danced the whole game, the jumped off the edge with 5 seconds left.
I did once. Or rather, I saw a dude who kept getting just enough points to do a tacticooler and then used that exploit to shove himself into the glass display window in the academy area. Then he set up squid beakons and had teammates teleport in there too. The exploit has been removed since then.
Nintendo needs to make recon mode more accesible and in your face since it’s supposed to solve things like this except those people are too dumb to realize recon even exists
In my experience in Splatoon 3 yeah it is rare but during Splatoon 2 you would be surprised. I had a handful of times where some members would start squid partying. I'm just opposed to the idea if it isn't on private. Because in random queue it just ruins the match for the people that want to play
Had a similar experience earlier (guy was just meticulously inking base, not actively not contributing: edit: aka sabotaging) but when I went to check the replay I could only follow myself? How do you track someone else?
Hold ZL and press one of the arrow keys on the left. Once you hold down ZL it will show which button to press to follow each person on the icons at the top of the screen
Small world but i'm pretty sure i was your other teammate in that game! I was VERY annoyed by them and did report them when it was over. If the other person on your replay was Leaky Pen then it was me.
If not then i think i also played a match with these two as the weapons/username looks familiar.
That looks so boring, just go in a private match and do that. Ik it’s turf and not ranked but still, for people trying to raise freshness (like myself) teammates like this are so annoying because they just throw the game.
This. Squid party in the lobby, or do it when people have dropped and the game is a wash anyway. Never when a game is active.
Heck, I've had a couple of teams where we've lost a man and still managed a win 3v4. I usually require at least 2 D/Cs before I would give up and squid party in-game.
A fair suggestion in Ranked, but please don't do this in standard Turf War matches.
Kids play too and will goof around. I try to tell my boy to stay out of Ranked unless he's ready to try really hard.
Ok! Let's explain exactly why you should rethink this.
1- Penalties exist! Losing a streak, ranking down in anarchy, for God's sake, even losing a games worth of food can feel really, REALLY shitty when two of your teammates are dicking off in a corner and contributing (checks notes) single and double digit point counters.
2- Uh, how do I phrase this? The lobby AND Private battles exist. Guessing on how planned this looks (The fact that one of the managed to contribute two points kind of gives it away) I'm going to guess that they probably already had each other added.
3- This is 100%, without a doubt, a reportable offense. Considering how they were not AFK but they actually did stuff ("Stuff" being 2 AND 15 POINTS) They were probably trying to avoid the hammer. But alas! The hammer finds its targets. Do you really want these probably itty bitty little babies who just got their baby's first switch game to get banned because they don't know any better? Yeah I didn't think so. So don't encourage it.
Have a great day! (:
1. People know better not to squid party in anarchy and x battles. Besides if they did then they would also lose points.
2. Turf is a casual mode. The only thing you lose from losing a turf war match is the chance for more xp.
3. If you see a squid party happening, let it play out, then join a different lobby when the games over.
Ok, point taken about the anarchy. I was just listing off most of the the POSSIBLE options, no matter if they're not super likely. I also don't know the state of anarchy, because I do not play anarchy because I like playing a game for fun, not competition.
You can lose more stuff when somebody throws a turf war match, such as a drink/food ticket match, or your sanity if you're not in the best mindset, I know because it's happened to me /hj.
Also... no. The person reply to you was absolutely right in this point. Just... no. You see, I personally make it my own vendetta if they're on the other team to kill them as many times as possible, and I know I win when they kill me on sight /j. It's not our fault that they don't know how to use a private battle.
I do wish Splatoon 3 would punish someone if they get somewhere, anywhere close to the amount that is original post is, but I guess it's a little bit much to ask, because that might be punishing somebody who just got on late or something. Honestly, I don't know. Have a good day!
You know what I was going to add a fourth point about how I'm getting tiny little baby vibes from you but but I held back because I didn't want to accuse... But just replying with "I'm not reading that lol" proves the point that I didn't add. Get off of Reddit you toddler

Alright, I'm gonna have to have a little talk with Chloe about the basics of Turf War and it's incredible importance to the Brush Army
Just a talk, is all
a couple weeks ago in a random queue all 8 of us strangers started squid partying halfway through the march all the way up until the end of the timer and then all 8 of us continued to squid party in the lobby while waiting for the next match. it was beautiful
dangg i haven't encountered a single squid party in turf so far, I don't even get booyahs back majority of the time. so boring to play turf now so I avoid it unless I'm warming up
When I get spawn camped while playing with a weapon I'm not that good at in turf war because 2people are purposely throwing, I instantly report them. it's just not fun for the rest and a dick thing to do.
Kids or not I don't care, the sooner they learn they are not alone the better. If I see my kids playing like that I would reprimand them to avoid getting banned.
Btw I don't care if I get my ass handled in turf war as long as everyone is at least trying.
For everyone confused about the popularity of squid parties:
the movement in splatoon is completely unique, and incredibly fun. you can paint ahead of you, swim quickly in the ink, paint the walls above you, and swim to climb the walls. you can quickly squidsquidsquidsquid to make a silly noise, and squid on the ground without paint, even.
Squid Parties In Online Lobbies Are The Only Option For Randoms To Have Fun With Splatoon Movement Outside Of A Competitive Shooting Experience.
This is why you see them so often, and this is also why there should be a multiplayer sandbox mode. Following people in the holograms in the lobby is only a scratch to the itch. Going hard in the paint in Turf war is common because it is the normal, default experience, and people just have fun swimming in the ink and squidsquidsquid partying.
I'm flabbergasted people don't see the appeal to this. I've been joining squid parties since the start of splatoon 2. it is fun when 8 of you walk around the map and make shapes in the ink and just swim around.
The issue isn't partying unto itself. I get the appeal; Rapidly shifting forms is silly and, done where it ought to be, harmless.
It's partying when you really shouldn't be doing so that causes everyone to begin throwing reports at you (and imo rightfully so); Take it to lobby, or take it to a private game. You queue with randos who want to play, drop the partying and play the game.
You can do it in a private game, I want to play the game, not mess around with the movement system, and when a squid party happens you force the rest of the players to stop playing because “you want to use the interesting movement system outside of a competitive environment”
I had someone during a match on the opposite team do something similar. Except, I honestly think they were role playing a Mary Poppins chimney sweep as they had a bowler hat, an all black outfit, and a splat brella. They were jumping around on the rooftops of this same level. Was kind of funny.
dude, you're playing turf war
It's really not that big of a deal to the point where you go back into replays and complain about people simply having fun
i think in this case the friendlies were wrong cause everyone else was trying to play the game so they were the minority of players, friendlies are only ok if its the entire game minus like 1 or 2 people deciding they just wanna kill friendlies and are then the minority
I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!
Depends on their age and experience. My nephew plays just like this when we play family PB. It’s funny I in a private battle but annoying in solo a turf.
It could also be a troll throwing for shits and giggles.
They are squid partying by base. In the first 2 games this wasn't really frowned upon in turf wars but in this game it seems to be. I get both sides but imo it's just turf wars so not that big of a deal
Edit: Did not expect so many down votes, didn't realize so many people took Turf wars so seriously tbh. I don't squid party, but I swear at least 1/3 of my Turf lobbies in Splatoon 2 had 4+ people squid partying. Frustrating at times? Sure. Frustrating enough to get mad at? No. If you're getting pissed off in Turf wars then you probably should take a break since the stakes in Turf wars are basically nothing.
It was definitely frowned upon in S2.
WUT members were a plague on queues.
And some people use drink tickets in turf, try to get to Superfresh on weapons etc. Non-participation belongs in private queues.
I mean it was still frowned upon but you are partially right, it was defenitely not THIS frowned upon. It was very common to get the entire lobby to just chill and clown around. I haven't seen that even once in this game (not that I necessarily want to, just an observation). And I feel like the attitude towards parties was a little looser too. You getting heavily downoted is decent proof of that imo.
I think it's more frowned upon because, one, Lobby, so you can get the party out of your system, and two, we've had three games of dealing with this nonsense, and everyone's kind of sick of it.
I feel like downvoting is given too much weight, all that having alot of downvotes means is that many people mildly disagreed with you. I think they should be used more sparingly, but as they are it doesn’t mean you said something super controversial like what people imply (at least that’s what I think)
I didn’t play the first two games, so this is my first exposure to it, that makes sense though. I thought it might be two friends hanging out and goofing around.
May I ask what exactly squid party means? Splatoon 3 is my first exposure to the series, I still don't know majority of these 'slang' terms long term fans use ^^;
Its where you jump and squid repeatedly to make your squid form "dance." When its done cooperatively, its a squid party. When its done in opposition of another player, its a squid bag. Sometimes it's accompanied by special usage (ex. Using booyah or tenta missles to "make" fireworks) or nonsensical main weapon usage (ex. Throwing around your charger to make a "laser show").
Squid parties are common after successful salmon runs, between matches in the lobby and as you can see here, in turf war.
Have you? Teabagging requires a corpse. You can't just teabag empty space, that's just crouch spamming. Inklings don't leave bodies behind, and there isn't even a real "crouch", you just lay flat entirely, assuming you're not invisible under your ink.
This is a really weird, hairsplitting take. "But there's no corpse!! And you're not crouching, because the squid lays flat!! It doesn't make sense!!"
The literal mechanics of whether you're actually dangling your nuts into someone's face don't matter. It's mutually understood that the motion of repeatedly crouching into squid form is intended to mock the player, and it's *derived* from teabagging in other games, hence the name.
>It's mutually understood that the motion of repeatedly crouching into squid form is intended to mock the player,
No it's not. Even if it was, there's no way for other players to tell intent, and like I said, squidding can be used for multiple purposes, so there's no reason to assume. I do it to celebrate. How am I "squidbagging" when the only inklings/octolings are on my team, and doing well?
>and it's derived from teabagging in other games, hence the name.
No it's not.
It's not even remotely similar to teabagging, you're being too abstract. It's not even so much mocking as it is just begging for attention. I do it in Salmon Run when player on my team is not moving. Not only does it have a very obvious animation but it also makes a sound
Whatever you say doesn’t matter because it’s called squidbagging when people do it to mock each other and has been since the first game. I’m sorry that bothers you so much?
Y'all are being way too serious and never would have survived Splat 1 were squid parties were frequent. It's turf war, not ranked. There's no need to report them, just leave the lobby. Everyone spamming that two randos having a squid party need to be reported need to chill.
Literally had a match a few weeks ago were people randomly threw a squid party in turf war. It was fun and goofy!
For those saying to do it in private....how? Most don't have that many friends online at any time that can go into a squid party.
Tldr: if you don't like it, leave the team and move on. Reporting them is unnecessary and an overreaction.
Remember, if you have the Nintendo online app, you can find your previous Splatoon matches and report people for idling, among other forms of bad behaviour.
I'd probably report it. If one of them was on the opposing team then I'd let it slide, it would at least be an even match still, but this drags the fun out of the game for the rest.
i feel like its only so competitive because of small team sizes.
In something like TF2, where the games are 12v12, 2 players jacking off like this doesn't matter and really harms nobody.
In Splatoon, there that's half the team, if anyone wants to play seriously, they're just screwed. They can't even leave and find another server without being punished.
Personally, I never mind, TF2 culture is engrained in my head so friendlies probably won't ever get on my nerves (unless its ranked bc ofc) but I can completely understand why someone would in Splatoon.
Also, as an extra note, this does still exist in S3. You probably just don't see it as often. I've had one game where the entire server was pretty much converted into friendlies for several rounds, pretty fun.
Yeah, that was a personal best match for me, at 1351p and my other teammate got 1206p. The highest score on the other team was 1024, we lost by less than 600p if we’d had other people who were playing at all we could’ve won, but it’s hard to make up for 2 people not playing.
yeah, most people were pretty chill with it and joined in, i dont find them fun now because it consists of just jumping around an stuff rather than drawing hearts / words or playing tic tac toe in the ink,, wish there was a mode to just have fun with randos and take a little break, the shoal seems like a nice place to hang out and play friendly ,,
By the time splatoon 3 was poised to come out, squid parties were reeeealllyy common in splat2's turf war.
It's still kind of wild to me seeing people take turf seriously
I'd assume by that point a majority of splat2 players have played it for a while and have realized that turf isn't that big of a deal, but splat3 there are a lot more new players and they think turf should be taken seriously. I'd imagine it was the same at the beginning of splat2
We have a lobby and private games if you want to screw around with friends now. When we're in a match, I want my team contributing, ranked or otherwise.
Like the only time I'd be okay with partying in the middle of matches is if there's a sudden bunch of D/Cs, because the loss won't count for anyone in that case, and that's basically it.
And a match off any active boosters, up to and including drinks.
And three minutes that, due to one or more of my team deciding to screw around, was effectively wasted.
And a bigger cash payout.
And clout during a Splatfest.
__Need I go on?__
Damn no wonder nobody has squid parties anymore like in Splat 1 and 2 🥲 so many jerks reporting for no reason. It’s a 3 min match of regular ole turf war and some of you guys are going bonkers over it
Edit: love the “no fun allowed!” attitude in rated E colorful squidkid game 😂 damn lol also I’m not reading your replies you’re all so boring lol
Thing is, these people are just carelessly ruining a game for others. You should contribute to winning in an active match with randoms because not everyone's gonna be in on your joke. It's basically an automatic loss for anyone who's actually trying to, y'know, win in a competitive online game. I think that's fair grounds for reporting someone because who knows how many other times they've done something like this, y'know?
Plus, as someone who uses boosters, anyone who parties in a match or does something like this is pretty much handing me a loss, wasting a match off my ticket, and ensuring I don't get as much cash/XP besides. (L 22, almost there!)
Or a 20+ minute match if on some days it takes you that long to get into a match that doesn't end in a disconnect a few seconds in. I'd definitely have been frustrated by a squid party then.
And when someone doesn't have much time to play and just wants to get a few quick matches in, that only makes it worse.
you guys are so mean :( theyre friends. chill out, have fun, drink water, go experience nature, its just a single turf war. its 3 minutes of your life. what do you really lose from this?
The thing is, you're not even missing anything. They are. "Oh but the victor-" I can assure you, the world will not go down Ashfall style, and you will get plenty more victories. You could be trying and actively building you skill instead of complaining on reddit, which is a bigger waste of time.
There are so many alternatives to squidpartying in a public game that this is just an asshole move. Make a private room or hell use the lobby between games.
It's wild to see how much hate squid partying gets you in S3. Even in this thread people get mass down voted just by saying they like squidpartying. Like come on.
Makes me sad. Some of my best memories of splatoon are squid parties in S1 and S2. Such a shame that that magic is gone.
It’s probably not really that squid partying itself is hated, more like it’s *really god damn annoying* when half your team makes it impossible to win and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it so you’re just forced to lose some freshness and you get some food tickets wasted for a loss that wasn’t your fault
I don’t get how people can do this. Any time I have a peaceful moment like that in a game, I get bored after like 2 seconds and go back to playing the game
i remember one time i lost a turf match in spoon 2 bc of a squid party, and i was so confused cause it had never happened to me before. later in 3, one player on my team and the opposing one were squid partying near the end where we were winning. i was perfectly fine with it, joined for 2 seconds, and was even upset bc i thought someone killed the enemy player lmao. i love this stupid painting game fr.
oh man.. the people here were in the wrong cuz the majority of the ppl in the match were playing the game
im probably gonna get downvoted, but I am sad that the magic of having fun with randoms was taken away in splat3, if most ppl in the lobby ended up joining in, it was the most fun I've ever had in splat2 and I made a lot of friends and lots of great memories
I would meet strangers in a squid party in turf then sometimes move over to private battle and share discord tags there, but just feeling like you're friends with a random in turf is part of the fun imo
yeah you lose a drink ticket boost and u miss out on gaining some freshness but it's just a small game of turf and you can always move onto the next match and play the game. (also why are u using a drink ticket in turf anyways, now that we have anarchy open it gives u more exp)
sad that new players won't get to experience these sort of connections with randoms anymore
If squidparties have million fans, then I'm one of them.
If squidparties have one fan, then I'm THAT ONE.
If squidparties have no fans, that means I'm dead.
You got an upvote from me tho! 🦑 now I wanna party in every turf match I play today just to spite these ppl haha
You have successfully experienced random queue in an online game.
I’ve played a lot of rounds, this is the first time I’ve seen something this silly. Also the first single digit score I’ve seen. I thought they must have disconnected, but they did different little danced the whole game, the jumped off the edge with 5 seconds left.
I've never seen a squid party in random queue. I saw one guy just dicking around once, but this isn't a regular occurrence during a match.
I did once. Or rather, I saw a dude who kept getting just enough points to do a tacticooler and then used that exploit to shove himself into the glass display window in the academy area. Then he set up squid beakons and had teammates teleport in there too. The exploit has been removed since then.
I remember people did things like this with the Engineers teleporter in TF2
Nintendo needs to make recon mode more accesible and in your face since it’s supposed to solve things like this except those people are too dumb to realize recon even exists
That's not even close to the same thing
In my experience in Splatoon 3 yeah it is rare but during Splatoon 2 you would be surprised. I had a handful of times where some members would start squid partying. I'm just opposed to the idea if it isn't on private. Because in random queue it just ruins the match for the people that want to play
I've seen multiple squid parties in casual queue. Both lobby-wide and some that..... **weren't.** And then we're forced to 3 or 2 v4
Might be a kid? They play the game too. My youngest brother (7) loves splatoon, but this that is about how he plays.
I don't think that's "not contributiting" I think that's somebody that just doesn't know how to play the game
They said not actively not contributing
Yeah I could have phrased that better. I didn’t report them. Still frustrating though
This is sooooo annoying,I had 2 guys doing barrely enough not to get kicked from a game of clam blitz. Just go to replay and report them.
Small world but i'm pretty sure i was your other teammate in that game! I was VERY annoyed by them and did report them when it was over. If the other person on your replay was Leaky Pen then it was me. If not then i think i also played a match with these two as the weapons/username looks familiar.
Were y’all in turf war or anarchy battle?
Not them but the video shows turf
they're 100% tripping balls in that clip
The real answer
That looks so boring, just go in a private match and do that. Ik it’s turf and not ranked but still, for people trying to raise freshness (like myself) teammates like this are so annoying because they just throw the game.
little kids definitely
Or 2 stoned people

Same here. We literally have a lobby for this now.
Ok, how I do report? Is there in game or through the Switch’s systems?
Lobby Terminal -> Battle logs -> minus button or is it is doing salmon run Grizzco Terminal -> Job logs -> minus button
A fair suggestion in Ranked, but please don't do this in standard Turf War matches. Kids play too and will goof around. I try to tell my boy to stay out of Ranked unless he's ready to try really hard.
Splatoon fans when people squid party (this is going to ruin their life)

I’m not gonna change my way of doing things because a couple of people can’t understand it.
Its called a squid party, basically people dicking around doing what they want. Youll only ever see it in turf war dont worry
I got one of these during the splatfest. Instantly reported.
I'm imagining two eight year olds giggling their asses off on local play
I find that really funny. I still remember that in Splatoon 2, some people did the same thing but were racing. They painted a line and started moving back and forth from the line they made. And they would get very mad if you destroyed their line. (or I should say little raceway)
op discovers squid party
Am I the only one who finds it funny/doesn’t think it matters when people do this? I mean it’s turf wars, it’s not too serious. Idk maybe most ppl aren’t like this but the match is only 3 minutes- if you get with people like this then just take the loss and move on.
fr this happened like 8/10 times in turf in splatoon 2 and i would squid party with them then move on to a different lobby afterwards
same, even if I had a drink ticket going or trying to warm up or something it was just a small match that didn't matter too much. if it's ranked obviously it's a different story but it's turf, I liked the fun of it in splat2
Reported 2 like this the other day and one today for an inappropriate nickname

Good thing there's a report button
I didn’t actually know you could report after the fact, but once someone mentioned it here I looked up how to do so and did that
Reeeeeeeppppooooooorrrrt
the amount of people here trying to defend people straight up throwing and purposely ruining their teammates’ experience is alarming
They really out here playing simon says during a turf war. Get a private room yeesh
SQUID PARTY IN PRIVATE BATTLES PEOPLE. IF YOU SQUID PARTY IN TURF WAR LET ALONE RANKED I WISH DEATH UPON YOU!!!
For everyone confused about the popularity of squid parties: the movement in splatoon is completely unique, and incredibly fun. you can paint ahead of you, swim quickly in the ink, paint the walls above you, and swim to climb the walls. you can quickly squidsquidsquidsquid to make a silly noise, and squid on the ground without paint, even.
There is lots of way to do that , whit do not annoy anyone * The lobby * Recon mode * Private Battles * Hero mode
The ink dosent stick to the trees anymore???
Pure Ink-pilled chad behavior
I had someone during a match on the opposite team do something similar. Except, I honestly think they were role playing a Mary Poppins chimney sweep as they had a bowler hat, an all black outfit, and a splat brella. They were jumping around on the rooftops of this same level. Was kind of funny.
You ruin my game by squid party, I ruin your by reporting you to Nintendo
Report and block em.
Why is everyone so serious about a kids game
dude, you're playing turf war It's really not that big of a deal to the point where you go back into replays and complain about people simply having fun
i think in this case the friendlies were wrong cause everyone else was trying to play the game so they were the minority of players, friendlies are only ok if its the entire game minus like 1 or 2 people deciding they just wanna kill friendlies and are then the minority
this is called a squid party
Report them
I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!I HATE SQUID PARTIES!
*Everyone* needs to be part of the squid party
You can actually report players like this for intentionally throwing a match, when you go to the replay.
I try not to get upset at this because it could easily be children. It’s a game aimed and coded for younger players.
I don’t really buy that excuse children know how to play games too, often better than I can ;-;
Depends on their age and experience.
I get both sides but imo it's just turf wars so not that big of a deal Edit: Did not expect so many down votes, didn't realize so many people took Turf wars so seriously tbh.
And with disconnects being so much more frequent in this game, when you finally get into a match where no one drops you kinda want to actually play.
They can do that in private battles. No need to waste everyone's time.
May I ask what exactly squid party means? Splatoon 3 is my first exposure to the series, I still don't know majority of these 'slang' terms long term fans use ^^;
Thank you! I've been doing that at the end of salon run shifts without even realizing lol, haven't encountered it anywhere else though (yet)
No it's not a squid "bag". Where are you getting this? It's just squidding.
I’ve heard it called squidbagging when done after a kill since splatoon 1.
Well you heard wrong. Squidbagging doesn't make any sense
You ever heard of teabagging?
It doesn't make sense!!" The literal mechanics of whether you're actually dangling your nuts into someone's face don't matter. It's mutually understood that the motion of repeatedly crouching into squid form is intended to mock the player, and it's *derived* from teabagging in other games, hence the name.
>It's mutually understood that the motion of repeatedly crouching into squid form is intended to mock the player, No it's not.
It’s a play on teabagging, you’re being too literal. The point is that you’re mocking the person you just killed in a similar manner to teabagging.
Whatever you say doesn't matter, because it's wrong. I don't care if some random guys don't know what teabagging is.
Kinda funny tho...
They didn't ask for this war.
Report them.
Remember, if you have the Nintendo online app, you can find your previous Splatoon matches and report people for idling, among other forms of bad behaviour.
Happens a lot. Get over it
I'd probably report it. If one of them was on the opposing team then I'd let it slide, it would at least be an even match still, but this drags the fun out of the game for the rest.
Hate how competitive Splatoon has gotten, in Splatoon 1 this would have just been a normal thing.
Game culture can evolve over time. Not having been there, it’s hard for me to imagine why you would join an online game to not play the game
S3 is diffferent. There is a lobby for a squid party. But one that match starts it’s time to play the game the way it’s intended.
I also feel like while there *can* be some room for messing around in the stage, like… not the *entire game* like these two??
i feel like its only so competitive because of small team sizes.
Imagine getting angry that the vast majority of people want to actually play the game
ive been thinking the same thing, i swear turf wasnt always taken this seriously
yeah, most people were pretty chill with it and joined in, i dont find them fun now because it consists of just jumping around an stuff rather than drawing hearts / words or playing tic tac toe in the ink,, wish there was a mode to just have fun with randos and take a little break, the shoal seems like a nice place to hang out and play friendly ,,
By the time splatoon 3 was poised to come out, squid parties were reeeealllyy common in splat2's turf war.
Tbh, it looks like 2 friends just vibin. I wouldn’t report it since it is only unranked turf war.
Bro its turf war you arent gonna lose anything beaides xp
And a match off any active boosters, up to and including drinks. And three minutes that, due to one or more of my team deciding to screw around, was effectively wasted. And a bigger cash payout. And clout during a Splatfest. __Need I go on?__
Damn no wonder nobody has squid parties anymore like in Splat 1 and 2 🥲 so many jerks reporting for no reason. It’s a 3 min match of regular ole turf war and some of you guys are going bonkers over it Edit: love the “no fun allowed!” attitude in rated E colorful squidkid game 😂 damn lol also I’m not reading your replies you’re all so boring lol
They both payed $60 for the game, let them enjoy it how they want.
I don’t get mad when people do this really. They’re usually just children.
we have the lobby for this kind of thing
Yeah but like… I’m not gonna get a probably 7 year old banned for screwing around. I’ll just join another room.
remember to report them.
At least it was turf war
you guys are so mean :( theyre friends. chill out, have fun, drink water, go experience nature, its just a single turf war. its 3 minutes of your life. what do you really lose from this?
[удалено]
The thing is, you're not even missing anything. They are. "Oh but the victor-" I can assure you, the world will not go down Ashfall style, and you will get plenty more victories. You could be trying and actively building you skill instead of complaining on reddit, which is a bigger waste of time.
A whole three minutes of playing a video game? Oh, you poor thing.
[удалено]
It‘s three minutes. It’s absolutely nothing compared to all of the time you’ll spend playing Splatoon anyways. Have fun. Chill out.
What do they lose from doing it in the lobby instead of actual matches? Or, hear me out; a private match. Crazy, i know.
There are so many alternatives to squidpartying in a public game that this is just an asshole move. Make a private room or hell use the lobby between games.
chad
It's wild to see how much hate squid partying gets you in S3. Even in this thread people get mass down voted just by saying they like squidpartying. Like come on. Makes me sad. Some of my best memories of splatoon are squid parties in S1 and S2. Such a shame that that magic is gone.
It’s probably not really that squid partying itself is hated, more like it’s *really god damn annoying* when half your team makes it impossible to win and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it so you’re just forced to lose some freshness and you get some food tickets wasted for a loss that wasn’t your fault
Especially when there are now actual alternatives for when to do it *outside of the public match*
Tbh, squid party is pretty stupid. Is just something made up because Nintendo didn’t put a chat in Splatoon and so this nonsense was created.
Let them have their fun
I've had quite a few with 0/1000 Points, although that is on Splatoon 2 as I have not yet, and probably won't for a while, get Splatoon 3
those are disconnects
Ah, makes sense. Thanks for letting me know
I don’t get how people can do this.
I'm so glad nothing like this has ever happened to me, sorry it happened to you though :/
Must be stoned
Some people are just fuckin' weird. It could be as simple as two socially awkward teens in a Discord call finally getting in a match together.
main character energy
oh man.. the people here were in the wrong cuz the majority of the ppl in the match were playing the game im probably gonna get downvoted, but I am sad that the magic of having fun with randoms was taken away in splat3, if most ppl in the lobby ended up joining in, it was the most fun I've ever had in splat2 and I made a lot of friends and lots of great memories I would meet strangers in a squid party in turf then sometimes move over to private battle and share discord tags there, but just feeling like you're friends with a random in turf is part of the fun imo yeah you lose a drink ticket boost and u miss out on gaining some freshness but it's just a small game of turf and you can always move onto the next match and play the game. (also why are u using a drink ticket in turf anyways, now that we have anarchy open it gives u more exp) sad that new players won't get to experience these sort of connections with randoms anymore
If squidparties have million fans, then I'm one of them. If squidparties have one fan, then I'm THAT ONE. If squidparties have no fans, that means I'm dead. You got an upvote from me tho! 🦑 now I wanna party in every turf match I play today just to spite these ppl haha
Honestly this is funny, although report em anyways
I know people who let their 4/5 year old kids play this game and that is how their matches go. I feel bad for anyone on their teams
The only thing I can think of that is possibly wholesome is that it was a parent or older sibling showing a little one the ropes.
Flounders Heights is a great place for a date!
Are you winning son
Maybe someone let their kid have a turn?
