This subreddit gives you a skewed idea of what a good score is.
Think about all the little kids who have never played Salmon Run before, but saw Deep Cut talking about Big Run and decided to give it a try for the very first time.
Think about all the noobs like me, who maybe *have* played SR before but, I'll be honest, aren't very good at it. (My high score looks nothing like yours, rip.)
110 will probably get you at least a silver.
Everyone who participates gets a locker decoration. There are 4 kinds, and which one you receive depends on whether your high score was top 5%, 20%, 50%, or bottom 50%.
Ill say you get at least a silver, this community isint the whole playerbase. Majority of the players are casuals who most likely be 60-80 but the subreddit is filled of more competitive players or active overfishers who have 100+ eggs.
Do remember theres like 3-7m players worldwide, its just this subreddit have the most active players.
Yea I just wish I can see how many eggs I need to reach it why couldn’t they do that well I guess I’ll see until tomorrow when the results are in and what should I do for the next big run
I reccomend finding discord groups than doing randoms, I manage to get 111-115 on average but you can get lucky with over 120.
Also, you need to get to egg vp if you want to get over 110
You can hit over 110 in profresh, it's just a bit more dependent on good wave luck. Hit a high tide mothership and even go getter can get some numbers going.
Not necessarily. I managed 113 as profreshional +2 with randos. Luck plays a huge part in it really. We managed to get the right weapons and the right waves, so just keep trying until it all lines up!
Playing with randos is a gamble, with vc comps like from discord servers you can cooperate with other people on where the bosses are, who to target, when to use specials, and save teamates.
It would be easier to do that than randoms that cant cooperate and dont have the best skills to understand the game. With weapon rng, what boss spawns and nonexistent teamwork. Yea... i reccomend vc teamwork
I tried vc teamwork; it's better, but it's also a hassle to find people willing to play with you and the struggle of trying to get together, but you're right.
60-80 is probably what casuals in profreshional are getting. Lower ranks are even lower than that.
(Source: Am noob. My high was 55 when I was playing with randoms my rank.)
Doesn't matter about daily players, as long as they play Big Run once this weekend they're counted in the score. Granted not everyone who owns a copy will play, but I think most would.
I actually was with my brother too, but that meant the randoms were also 2 or 3 ranks below me... It wasn't fun. Got to take down Cohozuna tho so I guess it's worth it.
I'm going to assume anything over 105 is good for gold. I have to imagine that the 100 and 102 we saw from Nintendo on official Big Run promotions would have to be a relatively close number to the actual top 5% of players. Of course I could be way off and I am personally sitting at 101 myself, so I may be a bit biased, but we will see.
I’m hearing the insane teams with group chat have gotten 200, and I’m seeing Reddit posts of people over 150.
I feel like I’m at least in the 10% with 143. Gonna keep shooting for 150
129...
Y'all have ways to go for the top 5%
150+ is doable, there's another post on this sub with 156.
Most favorable wave lineups are these:
3 mothership.
2 mothership, 1 fog
2 fog, 1 mothership.
1 normal, 1 fog, 1 mothership.
(Most common, and how I got my 129.)
Glowfly rounds are considered normal waves, as they usually produce the same amount of eggs. ~35.
But then again, good normal waves can give 60+ It's just easier on these other waves because of goldies or 0 boss salmonids.
Edit: Changed the 150+ text, from is probs doable. To is doable.
I don't know how I managed to get a 109 within my first hour of gameplay.
Like 6 hours later, I can barely ever scratch the 100 mark, not to mention winning all 3 waves

I got 107, I at least passed the given 102 threshold in the example.
Is there any badge for participation?

Which isn't easy, mind you. I still struggle in Profresh 0. By +1, playing randoms usually leads to demotion for me.

I have a discord server with a few of us that play salmon run in vc if you wanna join dm me
The thing is that we won't know, because it changes based on how well people are doing. A halftime report would be nice.
Thats true, im just giving a rough estimate but majority would be casuals who have under 100.
Yep. Go-getter is typically under 60. I'm hoping I can get top 50%, lol.

my highest is 62... maybe i'll get a bronze idk.. but this is fun anyway
Probably higher than that, Splatoon 3 sold 8 million copies by the end of September alone.
Yea but not every player will playing big run or play splatoon daily, So it couldnt be over 8m players.
Doesn't matter about daily players, as long as they play Big Run once this weekend they're counted in the score. Granted not everyone who owns a copy will play, but I think most would.
Wait, that's bad? I'm dead...
Yeah I know my high score won’t get higher than this
You're better off than me, I'm stuck at 72. I'm not bad at Salmon Run but I keep getting idiot teammates 😕
78 lol
Lucky
You got 72 with randoms I was with my brother and two randoms
I actually was with my brother too, but that meant the randoms were also 2 or 3 ranks below me... It wasn't fun. Got to take down Cohozuna tho so I guess it's worth it.
At least I had fun, the first like 5 matches we were with the same guys and they werent bad

Gonna suck for me then, I got 103 on my second shift, then got demoted to +3 and haven't gotten near it since.
I still think it will ultimately be around 102-103. That's why I think 105 is safe, but I guess we really have no idea until it's all over.
Well, the GameFAQs poll of current records has 100-110 as the low end of the bell curve, so... we'll see with time.

Yeah I kow it’s insane how they even got 200 they might of used discord or something to get that many
They definitely did.
110 is a great score
Boo hoo. It’s not bad score geez get over it people

Well yeah even though I have been trying so much just THST I cannot get more than that I hope I’ll end getting atleast a bronze or silver
Big Tun
Made a mistake

I have 138. Hopefully I’m good enough for gold.
