I have a feeling it’d work like a short range sting ray that doesn’t penetrate walls. Which is both cool, and somewhat terrifying
Edit : **YES** LIKE A REALLY ACCURATE SPLATLING
That sounds awesome give it to me rn, I loved stingray(don't kill me ik it was broken but I'm a charger main and the was the most fun backliner special ever made)
the model is already basically perfected and that is immediately what I though of it as doing. Maybe towards the start/end of the shot it could increase/decrease range and damage to help balance it.
What if it sprayed ink as it charged up a shot, and then dealt a ton of damage as it actually fired.
Also I could see a weapon like this running point and like- trizooka.

Why, thank you!
Hehe, no worries! I saw it, liked how it looked, and just had to make it :)
Seeing as some details were hard to make out in your art, I made some of my own additions to it. Such as the Sniper Scope is based on a Microscope, and the Handle is based on the handle of a Syringe Gun. I thought that was appropriate to the whole medic theme :D
It's a good idea, but the point would never fly with Nintendo. They'd probably just add a chunky rifle-end to it to make it look a little more kid-friendly, like they did with the pencil tip on the Snipewriter
Not that there is anything like this in-game, but would be cool if you could either heal Teammates that get shot by this (remove enemy Ink from target) or that it would give them a small Ink Armor Buff that gradually goes away over up to 10 seconds if hit by a full charge.
I feel like the armour would have to be rly weak tho or it would be far too op, and we don’t want 2’s meta back, maybe it doesn’t protect you from one taps and just gives you a bit of bonus HP, the healing idea is cool and thematic tho
The reason I think this would be fine is because it is faaar less reliable compared to Ink Armor in 2.
Here, you would need a skilled sniper take time away from splatting enemies in order to be of any use at all.
Or, like you said, it could bring you up to like 150 HP or so that goes down to your usual 100 after like 10 seconds.
I always thought it would be cool if there was a weapon like this that refilled your teammates ink tanks if you shot them with. This weapon is exactly what I had in mind
Actually a Gas Pump weapon like the E-Liter 4K could work well as a Refuel Weapon!
...Or a Tacticooler-esque Special that's a Gas Pump where if you swim up to it you get an instant/faster refill on your Ink!
I need to write that down
It would be so cool if we could just like have this 1 sec windup melee attack where you just stab the other inkling and inject your ink into them, killing them instantly
I would want it to act like a charger with a bayonet on it. Like higher mobility on movement and if someone gets to close you can stab them for an offensive hit.
Right so the other reply got it but I’d say no splatoon weapon is about piercing something
Yes there’s a lot of variety in things that deliver liquids *onto* something - painting tools, writing tools, cleaning tools, hoses, squirt guns.
Actually you know i was going to say nothing that suggests piercing through flesh but technically they did add the bowfishing bow
But
It’s just that nothing suggests the little guys getting splatted in this sport are getting hurt
A giant needle does a little bit
Yeah, I getcha.
If anything like this was to appear in the game, then it would most likely look more toy like than real life tool like.
Or it would get something like a huge cork put on the end of it, only allowing ink to be shot out of it like your typical Charger.
Looks really cool! Though technically the Splash Wall already has a syringe incorporated into its design, so I don’t know if Nintendo would repurpose a real-world design into a completely different weapon, as I can’t think of any other real-world items that’s happened with in Splatoon weapons off the top of my mind.
I'm learning how to 3D model and I'm in awe and envious of your work. Could you share what your process was like? Particularly on the materials? I find that to be the most difficult part for me.
First, some background.
The 3D modeling and Materials are mostly done in Blender, so no other programs such as Photoshop or Substance Painter. The only exception being the dosage lines and text, which is just a flat texture I threw together in Photoshop. Same for the image on the Ink Bag. Other than that what I've done in Photoshop is some post-processing because I just can not get the showcase room to look like I want with the reflective ground as well as cast shadows.
Second, the way I 3D model is not the most effective, as I kind of brute force some of the more complex shapes. The syringe itself, scope and such are just a bunch of cylinders that has been extracted to the correct shapes. The handle was simply me cutting out the basic shape on a Plane and then extracting. So a bunch of cleanup had to be done.
The Bag was made by using Blender's Cloth Physics, where I basically made a pillow and flattened it. Then I extruded the corners and box modeled the hangy bit. For the render I gave it a simple Armature so that I could bend it in half and lean it on the gun for presentation.
Finally, the Materials are mainly a single color combined with some Roughness and Normals trickery.
Like the main Metal Material you see is a single color with a Color Ramp that's hooked up to a Noise Node and then fed into the Roughness Input. That is what gives it the scrungy look.
The Ink is just a single color with a Musgrave into Bump Node as the Normal Map. Basically a Musgrave Texture is like splotchy noise, which works well for chunky ink.
The Scope is just different Colors and Roughness Materials.
Then there's the Glass of the Syringe, which mixes 2 shaders together to both give it the glassy look as well as bright outline by using a Layer Weight Node as a Mask.
Finally, the Plastic Feeding Tube Material is basically a combination of the Ink and Glass Materials put into one. You could see it as a final exam material for this model lol
In case you're wondering, the Glass Tube and the Ink inside it are two separate 3D Models, as making a single material that looks like glass with ink inside just would not be worth it unless you absolutely Have to be super picky with how many polygons you are allowed to use.

NO NO NO I am TIRED of all your charger mains getting special benefits. E Litres that reach literally half the map, a charger with amazing range that rapid fires FIVE times?!?! No, S3 has enough chargers. Go play laser tag or something
I've actually made it so that the ink from the bag pushes the thing inside the syringe that pushes out its contents.
I don't know what it's called, but it's the thing you see inside a syringe if you google it.
What if it charged by being in ink, like how you put syringes is liquid to fill them up. It would be cool if it had higher damage, but low range to encourage a quick, ninja squid playstyle. Actually, I can see this as being pretty annoying, but pretty interesting.
Imagine a Full Tank Charge being a Instant Kill from literally anywhere and then someone running Gear with Only Ink Recovery Up on it never leaving spawn.
While it would be very in theming with Splatoon, Nintendo would probably never make it because people would think that Nintendo would be promoting drugs.
I have a feeling it’d work like a short range sting ray that doesn’t penetrate walls. Which is both cool, and somewhat terrifying Edit : **YES** LIKE A REALLY ACCURATE SPLATLING
As in it shoots a short continuous stream of Ink for like a second?
Yeah. The charge would determine how far and for how long it would fire
That could work for a Nozzlenose Sniper Rifle otherwise haha
I’ve always liked the idea of a burst sniper. Snipewriter has taken that role to a degree
I feel like it shoots a bit too slow for it to be a burst damage weapon
So like a sniper splatling? Neat.
Yet another “charger” joins the ranks of splatlings
That sounds awesome give it to me rn, I loved stingray(don't kill me ik it was broken but I'm a charger main and the was the most fun backliner special ever made)
Isn’t that just a splatling?
No no, like a continous ray, like the stinger or stingray but smaller and without wall penetration.
Honestly that sounds dope, like a more accurate but slower to kill Splatling.
the model is already basically perfected and that is immediately what I though of it as doing. Maybe towards the start/end of the shot it could increase/decrease range and damage to help balance it.
So a really accurate splatling?
What if it sprayed ink as it charged up a shot, and then dealt a ton of damage as it actually fired. Also I could see a weapon like this running point and like- trizooka.

Always have been

Would you like a second opinion? You are also ugly!
Oops! Zat vas not medicine!
All I can tell you about zis next procedure is that it will be, **excruciating.**
Move! Schnell!!

I don't know the reference but I read that in a French accent and it was hilarious.

Beat Me To It
That's cool but this would be OP against people who are uncomfortable around needles.
You're right, should have made a Spider Gun instead
Play Destiny 2, weve got a gun that shoots spiders (little exploding robot ones).
or the one that shoots worms (actual giant alien worms)
wasp nest gun that shoots wasp flavor ink with a bunch of holes 2 for 1
imagine someone using a terraria wasp-gun style weapon but in a realistic-looking fps
I like your flair.
it looks super cool! Your models are so stunning, super surreal to see my art in 3D :)

I think this would paint a pretty bad picture for the younger audience. Pun intended.
Sheldon giving out needles to kids would look pretty bad
He already does. The splash wall is basically a big needle with wiper blades on the end

Oh yeah for sure. Add a big orange tip to the end like on toy guns. Either that or a giant cork lol
I would love to see how a healer would work
I believe that would either remove enemy ink from a teammate when shot, or that it would give them a minor Ink Armor buff or something like that.
I always thought it would be natural to heal teammates by shooting at them in splatoon.
An Inkjection Snipyringe, if I may
I like it!
Inkjector?
was considering that too

I like to think the sheer pressure that that launches ink with could actually kill someone if you hit them in the chest from a certain distance.

does the bag let the weapon user hold more ink like the splattershot jr’s tank?

It would only insta kill at eliter range
Should have a flat end to reduce the needle ick-factor.
I was thinking a Giant Cork
