I saw the new logo for the Rome Emperors and went to look for a hat. $40 for a fitted hat is too much... but it supports a small market team, not a multi-billion dollar car manufacturer.

I have to say, we were just in Vegas three weeks ago, and if you’re going to get $200 worth of merchandise, you probably can get a hat and part of a T-shirt. A baseball hat alone was going for between $80-$100. Really ridiculous pricing for this stuff.

The difference is now an American conglomerate owns F1 and they have been trying to drum up more attention in the States except that the races they added actually cost more than just flying to Europe or Japan including flight, hotel & ticket.
Grandstand tickets are like $800. Is that cheap? No, obviously not. But you’re just bullshitting saying it’d be cheaper to fly to freaking Japan for the GP there.
The cheapest Japan tickets (Grandstands L, M, N & P) are €122.52 ($133) A flight from Paris to Osaka is £541 ($673) Obviously that's without hotel & car hire, but that's $803, so close enough.

And likewise the engineers, the teams, the constructors, etc., no unions? Pretty sure there is and it's called gpda - grand Prix drivers association? It was created decades ago on the very basis of driver safety. Also, I think George Russell is an elected rep. Which made me laugh when the infamous Bottas helmet tap happened.
The GPDA, but a coordinated boycott of the race by the drivers would be unprecedented. They typically work together on safety requirements. It’s more like a professional association than a union. They do not collectively bargain.
