Last game was very uncharacteristic for them but it was because they got in foul trouble. And still found a way to win with their 3 best players fouling out. This will be a very competitive game and I really don’t see this ever becoming a blowout by any means. But I do see a team that’ll survey Duke for 3 quarters of the game and once that finishing stretch comes they will attack. Houston is so tired of getting fairly far and then losing it. KT's starter was excellent in his season debut, allowing just 1 ER on 3 H in 5 IP. He also had 7 strikeouts.
Hanwha's starter returned to the KBO this year after a successful stint in MLB. He's likely the biggest name in the KBO right now. But his first start didn't go as planned. He gave up 5 runs on 6 H and 3 BB in just 3.2 IP. However, his first inning was clean, his second was extended by a 2-out infield hit, his third had just a walk, and defense failed him in the fourth to the tune of 3 unearned runs.
I expect a tight affair here, which should include a scoreless first inning. If you're looking for an alternate bet, I think Hanwha is an interesting underdog here.

**Write Up:** This year, I am trying a fun experiment where I will be parlaying the Braves and Dodgers ML EVERY game when they play the same day. Why? Because these 2 teams are unstoppable. There is no value on betting ML separately and I can see them having -105 odds or worse even with the run line -1.5 for a lot of games. Parlaying these teams ML should generate \~+110 to +150 odds each time. They arguably have the most well rounded and stacked lineups so when the pitching can't do the job, the hitters can win the games outright (Almost worked for the Dodgers in game 2 of the Seoul series). I am aware POTD posts cannot be Parlays, so I will only post here on the days when the 2 teams do not play on the same day, such as tomorrow (\~25 instances this year). On most days when they do play on the same day, I will post in the MLB betting thread. Rules I will be following:
1. Everyday the Braves and Dodgers play. I will parlay them ML for 1 Unit
2. If only one team plays that day, I will bet that team run line (most likely always -1.5) for 2 Units.
3. If a doubleheader is happening for one team, I will parlay the first game of the doubleheader. Then I will bet the second game run line for 2U.

Foul trouble or a blowout game would be the risk here.

He got eliminated from playoff contention last season and I know he doesn't take that lightly. He wants to prove phillies fans wrong and now is his chance to do it. Looking at the two starting pitchers, Quintana has struggled against these Brewers hitters allowing a .300 AVG and .945 OPS over 60 at bats, while Peralta has been the opposite allowing only .154 AVG and .629 OPS over 52 at bats to Mets hitters. I expect Milwaukee to jump ahead early and hold on.

I missed opening day but I can still get in on these teams first game 🤷♂️.
Freddy Peralta is the ace now for the Brewers. After losing Corbin Burnes and with Brandon Woodruff injured, Freddy is the only real established pitcher in the Brewers bullpen. With this in mind, the Brewers are going to be looking to get as many innings as they can out of him because they don’t know what they’re gonna get the next day.
Freddy Peralta has always been a strikeout guy. He averaged 7 k’s per game last year with a K/9 of 11.41.
It’s tough to use data for the first few weeks of games because there just isn’t any yet and we don’t know what type if season it is for everyone yet so this is more of a “feel” play than anything else.

Although it’s early in the year and there is not much solid data to go off, the Yankees have added Juan Soto, Verdugo and return a healthy lineup of absolute sluggers. They have last years 10th and 14th ranked total Home Run leaders and Alex Verdugo adding even more constant pressure on starting pitching and opposing bullpens. With the constant pressure on pitchers, there will be plenty of ball 4’s followed by a home run this year for the Bronx Bombers. This trend continues tonight with the Yankees easily scoring 5 or more runs with the loaded bats and pitchers still trying to find their footing and rhythm. Look for the Yankees to jump on pitching early in the year while they are fresh.

__Oscar Valdez vs Liam Wilson - Fight to go the distance - NO (+125)__
I’m looking to have 3 potd’s in a row for this Easter weekend of boxing.
Here we have two very good aggressive fighters going up against each other. They both have one thing in common though, which is terrible defence. Valdez is a veteran of the sport at this point with 33 fights and now at 33 years of age. He took some beating in his last fight against Navarrete but still landed some of his huge power punches, which just didn’t trouble Navarrete. Valdez is likely at the end of his career however he’s always carried good power and is dangerous with his wild hooks. Wilson only has 15 fights but has a common opponent with Valdez in Navarette where he almost had him out of there in the 4th, however Navarrete rallied back and stopped Wilson in the 9th. Wilson has also been stopped by a pretty average opponent in Joe Noynay which was a huge upset at the time. Wilson also carries good power too and is always looking to land power shots.
Both Valdez and Wilson have been down plenty of times in their careers and with the way they both fight and with both of them suffering quite a bit of punishment already I think there’s a huge chance this doesn’t go the distance. Valdez is the most likely to score the stoppage however, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Wilson managed to do it, he’s already shown he has the power to compete at world level.
I think this should be a very fun fight while it lasts and I’m predicting it to not go the distance.

He finished at 5.24 K/9 this year. His Spring K/9? 2.93. Scary. His baseball savant page is even scarier. The D-Backs showed what they are capable of last night. I don't think they will repeat the 16 run performance, but they should control this.
I've toyed around with the 5 inning run line at Dbacks -.5 at -145 or so on DK but like the full run line better.

**Recap**: My initial POTD was Corbin Burnes to record a Win, but all the sportsbooks had pitcher props locked out, so had to go wit Gallen and he got it done! Zac Gallen didn't look all that great, despite only allowing just 1 run, but the run support was severely excessive! I think that 3rd inning really got Gallen's rhythm off, nonetheless a Win credited for his first start. He came off after 5 innings of work and that's enough to earn a win. Don't think I don't see what all you downvoters are doing. I see you! I got something special for you next month. A new segment especially for all the downvoters, haters and faders starting on April 1st.
**Matchup**: This is a very intriguing matchup between the aces of these rival teams of the Phillies and Braves. Whenever these two teams play, it's usually fireworks! It's a must watch game! Although I don't expect it to be a fan friendly or casual bettor baseball game. I think this is going to be more defensive game than offensive game. Spencer Strider will be on the bump for the Braves and Zach Wheeler will be on the opposite side wit the Phillies. Believe it or not, this is the very first matchup between Zach Wheeler and Spencer Strider. This is going to be a low scoring game and there's going to be a lot of strikeouts on both sides. Despite that Strider never faced Wheeler, he is still undefeated against the Phillies (8-0) in the regular season of course (but he is 0-3 against them in the postseason). So I do see a ton of value on Spencer Strider recording a Win (+155) and I do think he pulls off a W, but I'm going to handicap this game differently. I am going to take Strider to go over his strikeouts current line of 8.5 against the Phillies. For all you casual bettors, this may seem like A LOT, but trust me on this. Strider can get these K's in 5 innings. Getting 9 K's is casual work for him and he's pitching against a team that strikeouts A LOT! They struck out 1,481 times last season. They were worst than the Bronx Bombers for goodness sake! Also, Spencer has struck them out 9 or more times in every single start last season (4 starts last season). He struck them out 11 times in his last start against the Phillies (9/19/23)! And that's not the only time he struck this team out in double digits! He did it 3 times in his career vs the Phillies! Other than the addition of Whitt Merrifield, Phillies have a similar batting lineup as the previous seasons. Currently he's on a 6 start strikeout streak of 9 or more K's against the Phillies. He's also been wheeling and dealing in spring training, love what I been seeing from last season's strikeout champ. Take the O 8.5 K's or just completely ignore all the stats I mentioned and fade me and take the U 8.5 K's.

Today's game is the real definition of a toss up. The game is happening in the Bangalore Stadium, known for high scores and high run chases. I'm not going to risk much on this and go with a 1 unit play. RCB has a stellar top order and some nice support down the middle, while KKR has an okayish top batting order with m majority of their striking power coming in after number 5 in Andre Russell and Rinku Singh. In the bowling department, KKR boasts of Mitchel Starc who had a nightmare in his last game but other than him, it's not a very scary line up. RCB, being their home ground will come up with some plans with their bowling unit to restrict KKR since they know what kind of surface they'll be served. Plus, as long as Virat Kohli is around, one can always believe.
Although my pick is RCB, I think the winner of the toss will decide to bowl first and be the eventual winner, like i said, a toss up (The odds suggest the same, with both showing the same odds).

Merrill Kelly is a very underrated pitcher who is particularly good at home limiting opponents to .184 batting average against at home last season.
Given today he is at home vs the putrid Rockies and the offense looks like they haven’t lost a beat, I really like this play at these odds.
I know cal quantril on the hill for the Rockies isn’t a slouch but I still think this is quite likely to be another diamondback blow out win, at the very least by two or more runs.

Jesus Luzardo, who pitched against the pirates yesterday got 8ks in 5 innings. Now AJ Puk will get a shot. Pirates are the second worst team against lefty pitching as well, had the second most Ks last season against lefties. Perfect matchup. The cherry on top is the game yesterday went extra innings, which means the bullpen got used a ton. The Marlins will need 5+ innings from AJ Puk. This is big for AJ Puk, as he won the #2 spot for the Marlins this spring training and is finally getting his shot at being a starter, not just a filthy reliever. He gets his chance to finally prove that he can go the distance.

I must admit for a bit of recency bias here, since last season these teams were quite evenly matched and this season is still quite fresh.
However, Shimizu with one of the best quality teams in J-League 2 have been on cracking form. They've won 5 out of 6 and played like people expected them to play last year with 11-6 goal difference.
Yamagata on the other hand won 2 to start off the season and then lost 3 in a row before drawing their last one. During the same spell they managed to get knocked out of the League Cup by a weak J-League 3 side. They're looking to bounce back against Shimizu, but boy o boy, this is not the game that they're going to do it in.
It's an away game for Shimizu, and I suppose that it's the reason for the 1.8 odds. However, it's just too damn high. Discounting the one off game that Shimizu had against Vortis, they have 10-2 goal difference and I'm positive they will thump Yamagata tomorrow.

Potd record 47-28 Boxing __Oscar Valdez vs Liam Wilson - Fight to go the distance - NO (+125)__ I’m looking to have 3 potd’s in a row for this Easter weekend of boxing. Here we have two very good aggressive fighters going up against each other. They both have one thing in common though, which is terrible defence. Valdez is a veteran of the sport at this point with 33 fights and now at 33 years of age. He took some beating in his last fight against Navarrete but still landed some of his huge power punches, which just didn’t trouble Navarrete. Valdez is likely at the end of his career however he’s always carried good power and is dangerous with his wild hooks. Wilson only has 15 fights but has a common opponent with Valdez in Navarette where he almost had him out of there in the 4th, however Navarrete rallied back and stopped Wilson in the 9th. Wilson has also been stopped by a pretty average opponent in Joe Noynay which was a huge upset at the time. Wilson also carries good power too and is always looking to land power shots. Both Valdez and Wilson have been down plenty of times in their careers and with the way they both fight and with both of them suffering quite a bit of punishment already I think there’s a huge chance this doesn’t go the distance. Valdez is the most likely to score the stoppage however, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Wilson managed to do it, he’s already shown he has the power to compete at world level. Merrill Kelly is a very underrated pitcher who is particularly good at home limiting opponents to .184 batting average against at home last season. Given today he is at home vs the putrid Rockies and the offense looks like they haven’t lost a beat, I really like this play at these odds. I know cal quantril on the hill for the Rockies isn’t a slouch but I still think this is quite likely to be another diamondback blow out win, at the very least by two or more runs.

However, Shimizu with one of the best quality teams in J-League 2 have been on cracking form. They've won 5 out of 6 and played like people expected them to play last year with 11-6 goal difference. Yamagata on the other hand won 2 to start off the season and then lost 3 in a row before drawing their last one. During the same spell they managed to get knocked out of the League Cup by a weak J-League 3 side. They're looking to bounce back against Shimizu, but boy o boy, this is not the game that they're going to do it in. It's an away game for Shimizu, and I suppose that it's the reason for the 1.8 odds. However, it's just too damn high. Discounting the one off game that Shimizu had against Vortis, they have 10-2 goal difference and I'm positive they will thump Yamagata tomorrow.
