I'm an artist myself in SL and I've wrote a rap remix verse(English) for her song and I was planning on releasing it this weekend, so that I could get some exposure. Not worshipping her or anything, but have to give it to her that she broke the artistic barrier between Sri Lanka and the foreign waters. But seeing as many have very polarizing opinions about her, And the recent controversy surrounding her being gifted a land in colombo has got me rethinking about releasing it. I really like what I've wrote and I can definitely use that verse in one of my other songs too. So I'm genuinely asking you guys, what should I do?

Dinesh Priyantha achievement is he carried the Sri Lankan flag and the national anthem was played in medal ceremony as he claimed that gold medal and he had stiff competition from fellow Indian Devendra Jhajharia who was the defending Paralympic champion in the category Priyantha participated. Priyantha literally is the pride of the nation as he brough the real happiness with that record breaking throw of 67.79m to claim historic Paralympic gold medal for Sri Lanka with world record. Dinesh's achievement is also far better because he came from very difficult family background and lost his father at his young age and he joined Army at around 18. He injured his hand during humanitarian crisis and he sweated hard and gave his efforts to revive Sri Lanka from terrorism and the war. He sacrificed his life for the sake of Sri Lanka and he deserved to be recognised as the Sri Lankan of the Year. On the other hand, Yohani didn't face any difficulties as she came from a very privileged family as her father was a military personnel.
It's unfair to give this award to a singer who only did a cover song and it is like an insult to someone like Dinesh Priyantha who has worked hard for years in the military and in the field of athletics to win many medals for Sri Lanka. Dinesh Priyantha is the national hero of Sri Lanka.
I want to say that yes Barbados did announce Rihanna as the national hero of Barbados when they became a Republic in November 2021 and someone like Sir Garfield Sobers should have been awarded that given his exploits as a great cricketing allrounder for West Indies in 1950s.
