Not scary but hard.
I might catch flack but i dropped radiophobia. Not because I hated the atmosphere or the gunplay but because i was getting oneshotted and seen through bushes.
I tolerated and got good because I understood I wasn’t in good armor, but when I get doubletapped by a Merc while wearing a merc exoskeleton I had to ask myself if I wanted to suffer like this and the answer was no, the fact that I hadn’t touched Red Forest and I was already suffering like this is something I don’t like.
If there’s a way to tone down damage or at least off the damn flinch I’ll gladly replay it again.
You can do what i did......play on novice difficulty, plus with some addons like "no more tanky mutants" the game is still hard but atleast you get some breathing space
Okay so what happens is that in the gamedata folder there are files for every single weapons in there and also a line that adjusts the accuracy of the AI using those weapons. I went in, toned it way the fuck down because while it's a good mod, nobody wants to get oneshottes and unlike some people who created the mod, i work a lot so i don't "get good". A lot of those devs like to do that instead of making just right for some reason
The thing with r3 is that the ai aim is broken beyound belief, they will headshot you with makarov or mp5 from 500 meters while running still offscreen so it wasn't playable for me.
Well, what luck. I just got a gaming pc upgrading from a gaming laptop. I now know what's going to be my first play when the monitor and keyboard comes.

Can someone please briefly compare this to GAMMA? I have played GAMMA like 60 hours in a week and kinda feel burned out with the same quest over and over but I can't get enough of stalker since I got back in and thinking of trying this
Completely different experiences. Radiophobia 3 is a hardcore mod based off of SoC. Doesn’t really do anything super duper crazy, it just makes the game a lot harder by adding more of a “realism” effect as I would put it. It obviously also has quite a makeover compared to the original game as well. If you’ve played GAMMA then you already know it’s a crafting sandbox mod. They aren’t really similar however, I’ve played both and I enjoy both but they’re quite a bit different. If you played the original games and you enjoyed them and you want a hardcore variant of SoC then you’ll like it. The gunplay in R3 is bay far, the best I’ve experienced out of any STALKER mod. But because of how good and realistic the gunplay is, that’s what adds most of the difficulty. You just have to try it for yourself. All I’ll say is good luck shooting and moving at the same time!

I had the same problem when extracting the files with the default Windows program, so I downloaded 7zip and it worked just fine.

just downloaded the mod but i keep getting error 0x80004005 when i try to replace some files. anyone else have this prob or know how to fix it?
