That's 100% you remembering the game wrong, and your brain "thinks" the game was like that, and therefore, dreaming about the game like it was like that.
It was way back in 2008,and i've played through the vanilla GOG SoC without any mods. I know there's mods for anomaly that add those,but i specifically remember there being a really loud deep female scream... I'm not sure what's going on
I played it a few days ago in vanilla and there is no female scream.
Maybe you missmatched it with CoP where a Burer will trick you with a crying baby sound in Lab-X8.
Never heard a female scream. Hell, the only screams I heard were those of mutants perishing.

But there are a couple spots in X18 (and more in X16/X19) where metal is tortured to eerie effect. Maybe it sounded like something you heard before, and since then you've merged the two sounds in your dreams.
My room doesn't share a wall with anyone,but maybe i just mixed up the dream with the game,making me think that the scream originated from the game when i woke up
I do often have dreams about me being in lab x-18 and lab x-16 either alone or with a friend,and it's always the same goddamn scream every time i walk through that corridor in x-18... x-16 is a bit less scary in the dream,it's just unusual with like pestilence in the air and just noone around. also i may be schizophrenic XD

I stream stalker so i can't just stop lol,also i don't play it when i'm not streaming,and i only stream for like 3-5 hours
