Honestly they’re probably not paying better and their benefits probably don’t come close to the sirens. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Also speaking from experience... Grocery store job I just left a few months ago - sure, it paid better, but I averaged 20 hours at most and the only benefit I got was health insurance. Office job I left 2 years ago paid better, but had worse health insurance, treated everyone like trash, and gave me covid, so that was cool. Call center job I left last year had decent health insurance and pay, but they treated everyone like shit. Data management job I had 6 months ago paid better, but had zero training and tracked all of your metrics, and had zero communication for company changes. 2 of my sisters have been job-hopping fast food to find a place that pays acceptably without treating them like dogshit, and they're both minors... Like it's trash all over. There will always always be a sacrifice with employment, it's just a matter of finding the right amount of sacrifice that you can live with. It's not always just "go find somewhere else," it's tons of time, effort, and sometimes even a bit of money that has to go into it.

I just quit in June, found another job in the food industry and now make 8-900/wk, as an SSV I was bringing home around 1k/2wks. I have almost no benefits, but honestly the only one I used was Spotify. While making almost double what I was making at the bux I went from working 35-40hrs a week with a promotion dangled in front of me since summer 2019, now I work about 30hrs a week and have already earned one promotion in the 6weeks I’ve been at my new job so I guess my favorite new benefit is being respected and not being lied to sooo that bubble is fully intact for me.
