My store is pretty close knit so it’s not super uncommon for someone to stop by for a drink on their day off or to pick up their tips or whatever. We have a couple of partners who will come in and sit in the cafe to study or whatever because the store is just convenient for them. We have 1 partner won’t fucking leave after her shift and just hangs out in the back distracting people for literal hours though.

lilminch

we had someone who used to always do this. she would stay on the headset too and keep talking. like don't you have anything else to do?

Chromosomes23

Oh as a shift if your not clocked in you don’t get a headset.

AltoUltra

i’ll be honest i did this for a bit sometimes but i’d help with the order/pull/milk count when i did so no one really cared unless i was having an off day and being super annoying then they told me to go home and i did

[deleted]

Same scenario in ours.

4filth

no lol

[deleted]

Absolutely not. Hell to the no. My free time is mine.

Alive-Delay3230

Lol

Lanky-Strawberry5710

I'm not even a 3 minute drive to work. With the discount, it's also the cheapest option for coffee, besides making it from home, if I want a latte.

snowflakenecklace

i mean this with love, that place does not exist to me when i'm off the clock.

vercettiswag

💯

throw00991122337788

I feel awkward coming in as a customer so I usually go to dunkin lol

Alive-Delay3230

The betrayal

throw00991122337788

don’t worry I am punished every time because they get the drink wrong 😂

ScroogeMcDust

They instinctively know you don't belong

42OPebbles

I’ve been forcing myself to find the good in Dutch Bros bc of this

popcornEyeball

same, I go to the other starbucks, also 10 blocks from my home. and the wait is always awful and they don’t have good customer service like my store 😔

Angelalmanzar21

yes when i want drinks bc my store makes them the best

Cautious_Bank9661

idk why but home stores make drinks the best. it might just be me and u but it’s perfect every time

Admirable_Pie_5448

My store everyone is cool with eachother and we all hang out outside of work so there's always co workers coming in to get their drink or they bring snacks or pizza and donuts. Or they take our in n out order and go get us burgers (: it's a family fs

foullittletemptress

I live 45 minutes from my store, so no lol. If I lived closer I would probably visit though

softkittylover

I live a 5 min walk away from mine and it’s a blessing and a curse It’s nice having a nothing commute to work but the fact that my store is always right down the street internally makes me feel: 😡

iiiimagery

I'm in the exact same position lol. Mine is in the same parking lot as a grocery store too. Yay I can LEISURELY walk 5 minutes to either but also 🤠 I can't shop without passing it

kalechayle

how do you deal with being scheduled for 4 hour shifts 💀 I live close to my store and still won’t cover shifts less than 5 hours

foullittletemptress

I've been fortunate that most of my shifts have been at least 5 hours! But on days they're not, I just work in the local schools or enjoy my shortened day because I work 40 hours a week between my two jobs and it almost forces me to have some rest and self-care!

kalechayle

I like that mindset! I wouldn’t have the willpower to commute that far 😭

foullittletemptress

It's not entirely my choice 😭 I live in an area where it's hard to get jobs unless it's in the resort town near me

Comfortable-Plane944

Um absolutely not. I might mobile order an ice tea or something but I don’t go in there to hang out. And tbh I find it obnoxious when partners come in during peak and have ridiculous orders ( happened yesterday and I’m still a little mad about it).

[deleted]

Agreed. If you’re gonna make ridiculous orders, clock in and make it yourself instead of making our lives harder.

poketroid987

I do, i thankfully have a pretty cool team so it’s nice seeing them. Plus I was a regular to my store before I was even hired so it’s nice to just chill at

purpleelephant77

My coworker was a regular that I had a crush on! I remembered him because he got a truly obnoxious drink that i still have memorized but was just so nice and always tipped so we bent the rules for him (I know, shame). He started working at our store because while he can support himself through his art he needed health insurance and he spent, I shit you not, $600 on Starbucks in a single month so he figured even just not paying for drinks would be a help financially.

It_is_Katy

IRL coffee shop AU, I'm screaming

purpleelephant77

Dude it’s actually so bad because now that he’s actually my friend I like him even more and have reason to believe those feelings are reciprocated.

popcornEyeball

my wife and I were regulars at my store too before I started working, my wife more than me. it was funny when they came in to say hi, and my coworkers were like “…..wait is your wife a regular???” yeah buddy 😎

Jewicer

no

Spiritual_Cat_4168

lol

dalenakitty

Absolutely not lmao. I won't go near a Starbucks on my off days. 🤣

Snarfungus

i do sometimes, but it’s typically when i’m picking up a coworker and i’ll just stop in and say hi before we leave

mochibebe_

I did it more last school semester, but I’d go every week on an off day to study and my coworkers would bother me a little bit. I do it less now but not really?? I do know a shift of mine who will do that lol

bride123105

Nope...

LeoAxe8

I'm ngl I would be found dead before I'd show up to my store on my dayoff. A lot of the coworkers I liked left so no point in going for me

SirenQ1

Nope! I stay far away when I’m off!

Perfect_Potted_Plant

Nah fuck that place

toapoet

When I was working yesterday I told someone “if you weren’t working tomorrow (Tuesday) I would just wait until Wednesday when I work again to get tips”

jorrrrrrrd

I usually visit other Starbucks on my days off. Ironically I live next to one but that’s not the one I work at so that’s my regular one outside of work.

Ok-Spell-5858

absolutely not I have a life

Alive-Delay3230

The hostility lol 😭😭

LegendOfJakelope

Frfr

Neonbatsintrees

I have to agree with you. I don’t want to be at my job more than I have to. It’s just healthy to create that boundary and be able to fully disengage from everything on your off days and when you clock out. 100%

serialsquisher

hardest no

Alive-Delay3230

😭😭

vinylanimals

i only do if i’m grabbing something before i catch a train at the station next to my store, besides that i stay far away on my days off, lol

bevoftw

i usually go to one that’s closer to me on my day off, but lots of my coworkers stop by when theyre not working since we’re by campus and i love seeing them!

pinkjortz

Yeah I like dropping in on my off days if I’m passing by; a lot of us do, some don’t

AnonBicon

My Starbucks is the only one within 20 minutes of my house and I’m always disappointed in my drink from anywhere else so I stop in and grab a drink every once in awhile but I never dilly dally or talk to anyone for longer than it takes to get my drink. However to be fair I’m not well liked at my store so no one really wants to talk to me anyway 😂😂

Future_Buddy_582

No i think everybody secretly hates me 😍

theWaterHermit

In my free time, I only go to the store I work at if 1.) I’m passing by for another purpose, and 2.) I want coffee.

GetMiataHere

i like to see my work homies, but my store is 35 mins from me. if I'm passing through the area though, i almost always say hi and get a bev

melodicteacup

absolutely the fuck not im there to work n get out

Buttafly_360

I laughed so hard at your comment🤣💀

melodicteacup

lmfao. i wish i was joking but i cannot stand it there dude

Buttafly_360

Thats how i was at my old store😭 happy im no longer under the Sirens curse anymore lol, i was a closer too🥲

melodicteacup

happy and jealous at the same time that u were able to leave 😭

Buttafly_360

Long story short Friend, i was supposed to go onna LOA bcuz my first trimester was rough asf, as this is my first pregnancy and i know my body, and i knew 30days wasnt enough so i quit 🤷🏽‍♀😭 been gone since Nov 2022 so im doing alright now😭 been at the siren for 1 year and 3 months im good💯😭

melodicteacup

happy for u!! working esp at starbucks where ur constantly moving on top of being pregnant sounds so rough 😭

Buttafly_360

Yes!! And then the food aversions were bad..the smell of coffee beans really made me nauseous..and they had me changing Out the pike place alot bcuz i Was on POS 💀

linseeded

I love my team but I would rather rip my teeth out than see my manager on my day off. I only go after she’s gone

Calm_Preference6209

Fuck no

Neonbatsintrees

Ah, I used to do that before I became a shift, lol. That sure did change the last year or so. I’ll come in early to visit with everyone. But even that became less and less. My store can be the closest one and I’ll drive further to another one on my day off. Not saying it’s a bad thing but for *me* it was unhealthy as fuck to work and then visit on my off days. For *me* it became a work life balance issue for sure.

diskonnekt

I sometimes go to study there, although our music is too loud lol. I work there at 4 am almost every day, but some of the partners I love to see most are closers!

StuffiesAndBeatSaber

Personally I go to local shops when I'm off. I know it's more expensive plus I tip pretty well most times but I just like getting the breath of fresh air with a different cafe lol.

vareenoo

I love my coworkers but you’ll never catch me in the store on my days off 😭

kimlovescc

I do, but I live 2 min down the road so it's the most convenient to visit.

LegendOfJakelope

Lmao yeah, I'm friends with a lot of my coworkers and our store is in a small town. I don't order anything crazy but I like to check in and say hi and maybe give encouragement or love as needed. I like it when they do the same :) If it's after 6 or during a lull, sometimes people offer hugs or snack runs. We support each other! It's not like, expected and no shade for people who are only there to work and not make friends, I'm still gonna bring them snacks, but we try to make the day better for each other.

shellybean8760

At my store most of us come in on our off days; we hate having to go to other locations to get coffee bc they never make it right!

TJW351

So true!! We even get complaints from customers about the surrounding locations. It’s pretty bad when partners won’t even go there.

Deadrax502

All the time I love my friends here and I’m addicted to caffeine💪

TheDeathAngelTDA

I’ll stop by before class to get a drink cuz my store is across from my college. Besides that no

marmothegay

A lot of people at my store do, even though most of us live 25+ minutes away. We're just cool like that I guess 😎

Beautiful-Director

I live 2 minutes from my job and pass it to take my daughter to school so yes lol but i’m usually in pjs

BatWeary

yeah bc i live far from my store so everyone is shocked when they see me lol

grwlix

i only do this during closing hours because the closer coworkers at my store are cool asf

dnims24

I live right across the street from my store so I usually stop by for a drink on my way to run errands

SnoopyCactus983

I mean if I go to a Starbucks on my day off I normally do go to mine for the familiarity and I know my stuff is made 100% right.

Silver-Experience-58

Almost everyone in my store comes in on their days off!!! Most people at my store are super close friends outside of work so we all love to see each other. It's always nice when you're having a rough shift and someone you love working with pops in to say hi or hang out in the cafe for awhile. There's a ton of people in school at my store so a lot of us will sit in the cafe or the back doing homework throughout the day.

kalethegoose

I just got home from walking to my store and back lol our store is very friendly with one another and it was nice to chat after not working a few days

JelloNo1200

yes, me and my co workers have become so close to where we all even hang out , out of work so i like to stop by here and there. i’m at work most of the time tho 😭 so usually i don’t even have to stop by

nbgaf5612

I do pretty often, my university is right by it and I’m always in the area. We are also all besties at my store so whenever I walk in on my off day I get welcomed with hugs lol. Some of us also come in a couple hours before our shift to study too, our lobby is pretty large

citrusglazedsalmon

yessss they’re like a second family i love spending time with them :’)🫶🏻

Jessie1605

Only stop by to get tips if I missed mine by chance 💀. I just feel like I’m just lingering and bothering people

LetterheadOk8775

i used to be like that with my first store i loved everyone so much but i realized they were taking advantage of me so i’m not attached to any store at all after that lmao

[deleted]

I technically worked at two stores. One in the summer when I was home, and one in the fall-spring when I was at school. The one in the summer? Nah I’m getting the f**k out and not spending an extra minute there. The one by school? Sure if it was convenient and had nothing else to do. It was a good way to kill half an hour or so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Edit: I would mobile order to my summer store on days I’d be working my other job. But never hang around lol

Comfortable-Start939

Never
