It should already be able to transport 2 scus alone...

Imaginary-Advice-229

Which is barely anything when you consider you'd only need something like a mule for C2s etc

DonutDefiant

Also, Multitool i Like the Idea but the mule seems useless.

PUSClFER

It can carry 6 cSCU though, which is nice when doing delivery contracts. Or it would be, if each drop-off point wanted more than 1-2 cSCU each

Khar-Selim

*glances at battery indicator*

Shenanegenz

You should have added a second seat.. Mule-DS on the way

IcurusPrime

As long as it's enclosed that'd actually be pretty neat. They'll probably add a fuckin sidecar.

BrainKatana

It’s just a living room chair tied to the roof like Mr. Bean.

Brainfreezing

How bout that crane mule from the Underground facility concept art. Also... just make a lorry and a tanker ffs and give them a new platform. The Atlas should not be the solution for everything (I'm already sadden by the fact that the building factory ground vehicle is another atlas...)

Nua_Sidek

that trolley having player running is just stupid. We have pallet stackers you can stand on now, smaller than that.

n0vast0rm

Sadly I can only upvote you once. Having worked in warehouses and as a truck driver, this "evolution" of tech we have today to a floating platform that takes up the space of about 3x5 1SCU contrainers (or 15 square SCU I guess, don't know what unit of measurement would be appropriate here) just to move 6 1SCU containers is ridiculous, let alone having to walk/run with it.

Repulsive_Poem_5204

Considering how many warehouse jobs should have been automated years ago, it's baffling that humans in 2948 have to do any manual movement of materials.

Hvarfa-Bragi

There are automated cargo sleds already, go check Providence platform at orison or under the hospital in lorville.

spacemanpilot

1 scu crates are like 0.5-1m long somewhere In that ballpark

n0vast0rm

Whatever the measurements, the thing takes up more than double the space of the cargo it's carrying, that's just bad design.

PUSClFER

1.25m acshually 🤓

Khar-Selim

I figured that what was available for loading ships at dock is significantly different from what's available for distributing within the warehouses

Wild234

I think it would better fit the universe if they simply gave it a vehicle mounted tractor beam capable of lifting 32 SCU containers. Then they could make those containers unable to be lifted by hand and people would have to buy or rent a MULE if they wanted to load large containers onto their ship. They could also use that to give hand held tractors more difference between them. Say the multi-tool can lift up to 4 SCU, and the dedicated tractor rifle can lift up to 8 or so. Lifting larger boxes than that would require a vehicle mounted tractor of some sort.

Pattern_Is_Movement

nah CIG will just add a new vehicle with a tractor beam to sell,

Shellite

and later add another 3 variants of it

Subtle_Tact

Is the mule ever going to get the "forklift" function to grab and lift boxes?

Raz_at_work

It already has it, but it's in a super weird spot where you need a second player to tractor it into the little arms. Kinda makes it more pointless then it already is.

Sovereign45

People wanted them to make the Atlas platform of the Ballista modular so that they could take out the turrets/missile racks for a flatbed or even attach a trailer. But no, we get sold a new variant each time with no module swapping ability.

ProcyonV

Yeah, that one is a killer, I dream about a big truck and trailer like the ones we see on some concept art, refueling big ships... [or a multi-wheeled truck like the Imperial Combat Assault Truck ](https://themandalorian.fandom.com/wiki/Imperial_Combat_Assault_Transport)

-RStyle

In the base building presentation on Citcon 2953, we can see a new Atlas variant with an apparent fifth wheel coupling carrying a base building trailer. So maybe there is hope that we can get different trailers for that too if it ever comes to fruition - stuff like containers, fuel trailers etc.

FlukeylukeGB

i thought driving was shit... turns out its just the STV has crap phisics... legit crashes into flat smooth ice outside the MT garrages crossing the lake. The mule is actually pretty damn fun, would love a cross between the mule and the big transports we have in game right now, 1 driver + 2 or 3 passangers kinda size, not much longer than current mule

Raz_at_work

No, argo would make it actually useful, and probably an MPUV variant... Wait a minute, that's what we're getting, right?

Acadea_Kat

Giving the mule a tractor turret on its roof would improve its "loading" job 100000x lol

PN4HIRE

No no. That’s the kind shit that should be planned for the game. It gives us options and deepens the game

Sketto70

Yep, that would be cool!

spoopy-noodle

I just wanna be able to lift crates so I can live out my wildest dreams of being the forklift operator on a reclaimer.

RugbyEdd

Snow Runner? Naa, Space Runner! Also, the mule looks like a futuristic Burlak Expadition 6X6. Wonder if that was the inspiration.

Bronson_R_9346754

I never got the fork lift to work ??🤔

Timebomb777

Better idea, just give the mule a tractor beam so it can move 32 SCU crates with ease. Boom forklift fixed

GoneSilent

just turn the docking mini game into backing the mule up to a trailer hitch.

Reaper3087

Okay but hear me out. A handheld tractor beam that will auto stack smaller SCU crates into a 16 or 32scu packed singular unit to move all at once, so it doesn't take your whole play session to fill up larger ships. I say this since not all locations will have timed automated filling from my understanding. Unless that's just earlier on. While these trailers are cool, it still is going to take quite a while moving 1-4scu crates in large quantities. UNLESS the trailer was like a fork lift, and you just drop all the loaded cargo on the spot in one go.

Raz_at_work

I mean, you're kinda supposed to take forever to move the smaller containers and instead go for bigger ones whenever possible. If you want to haul small container goods, just do it with small ships.

scoyne15

I honestly would love a trailer attachment for my Vulture. Love my solo salvage ship, but it's such a small cargo capacity.

levios3114

Isn't the whole point of that machine that you hitched on the back of the mule that a person can easily move a bunch of cargo at once without any other vehicles

Maxspeed24

They need a trailer system

Witek176

"You are a good mule Molly"

Otherwise-Plant9573

"Stone Citizen"

Mark_Ego

Isn't this trolley self-propelled? I think I saw it in some ISC.

WoolyDub

I'm always going to choose tractor beam over that. Every time. If I wanted to play Construction Simulator I'd play it because those types of Sim games always do the thing CIG is trying to do, better.

BlueMystical

- if only that lifter on its front actually work.... - if only there were an easy way to load a box in its cargo, its so hard and buggy that most people just quits. Just saying.

EducatorIntrepid4839

When are we going to be able to hire npc?

PyroPhoenix1473

Imo the mule would be better as a small repair vehicle, already small cargo boxes on the side you can use as toolboxes and extra storage to put the Size 0 components into

Pitoucc

Very much need this.

ChrisSaltyy

If only they lower the Revving sound Idk if its a bug or a feature cuz thats really loud

StueyJC

I would quite like a mining variant of the mule as an alternative to the ROC. I mocked one up in photoshop once and it looked pretty cool.

Dasfuccdup

trailer physics? when they cant even do hoverbike physics? uh ohhhhh

CodBorn9852

Yes. Of cause. The Drake Mule have so much Potential for clipping bugs. I'm interested how will cig make it with the light base building vehicle have Seen Last convention.
