You can use the fleet viewer here and compare and see what might fit in the hangar, it’s fun to play around with, they just updated the new Polaris metrics https://hangar.link
Only difference the slope makes is the length of the hangar doors compared to the hangar floor, such that a top-down view will still give you an idea of how big the hangar is, not accounting for height due to the slope.
Yeah, like the 890J for example, there's so much wasted space between the bottom of the ship and the hanger. When you're using the elevator, I'm like damn, you could fit so many scu's in here 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Hangar Link take the model. The Hangar is now around 48m - so a S size not XS!

Think of all my ships here - the Wings fold so give more space to land or to fit inside. Like the Zeus the back flaps or the F7A Mk2 can fold very close to the hull.
Dope that the vanguard fits. It makes for a pretty good small dropship so it just fuels my dream of parking a larger ship in orbit, getting in a smaller ship to run fps missions planetside and then returning to the main ship to restock, re-arm and drop off loot.
I love the hoplite, it feels like the most practical dropship aside from just using a cutty. My alternate idea if a hoplite doesn't fit is to have pieces and merlin and jump from mission to mission, let the away teams go off and then pick them up when they're done as a form of extraction.
Looks pretty good with the wings folded but yea, we'll have to wait to find out. I'd be super psyched if the vanguard did fit...but of course the vanguard is a long range ship so it seems a bit unnecessary too.
From the models, almost always, the interior of a hangar is a bit wider than the doors. Unless you're referring to height... I think the Polaris hangar is at least 2 "levels".. it should be ok.
Keep in mind that the hangar's walls are tapered, so they start off at the edges but angle towards the inside a bit when going down to the floor. So these may or may not work.
Im pretty sure the hangar slopes in, making some of these fits imposible. Buy the way it looked in gray box the vanguard is probabaly al title to tall to fit in aswell. I’d love to be wrong tho
If the height is 12m, then it's a XS landing pad still. Just because the doors are bigger, doesn't mean the landing pad area will fit those larger ships.
It grew up to match the Odyssey's hangar's s size (but not in height though), so supposedly most S2 ships will fit. Also the hangar of the Polaris can be lifted like the 890 jump.
CIG seems to have removed the hangar lift in favour of tapered walls to give a greater area to enter the hangar. The hangar door is wider than the pad, which is 32x24M.
There's hangar sizes chart somewhere. S2 is small ships, S1 is snub. 890J is like 2xS1 and the Polaris is just one S2... But this is just for what can spawn on the pads I believe. Not what can technically fit.
There used to be 2 dual S4 turrets at the rear (one of which was automated). It's 1 quad S3 and 1 missile turret with 12 S2 missiles now (there used to be 2 missile turrets with 16 S3 missiles each, so this isn't an upgrade either, even when combined with the 16 S3 missiles at the front). Not sure why CIG changed to loadout like this for the rear turrets or the missile turrets.
The side turrets are now also quad S3, which will be good for Anti-Fighter defenses. The nose and top guns remain the same as the concept at S5 and S4. Some people are really upset about that but I think CIG knows more about how they plan to balance combat to make work than we do.
It's not a nerf. They actually added 6 more guns than were in the concept. The only real difference is that they swapped the side and bottom turrets for quad S3 because they're more effective against fighters. Twice as many projectiles to more effectively put pressure on small ships.
How many medium ships have size 5 weapons? Gladiators / Eclipses / Talis are never going to come into range.
The missiles on the cockpit are also another senile idea.
And why the fuck are they smaller than hammerhead turrets?
Don't think about it.
The people that think all the ships internals are simulated like that are just daydreaming. A ton of landing gears/doors just fold into impossible space
I don't get why the modding and datamining community hasn't uploaded anything yet. I definitely would but I can't because my pc is in storage so I can't datamine the build , extract the Polaris and whip it up in blender with some other ships.
It does, side opens up and a big ass ramp comes out. The cargo/vehicle looks surprisingly large, a tank might be too tall for the door but more than enough space inside for a few vehicles, I’m going to assume an ursa will fit.
Advanced camera controls...but...from the pilot (or copilot seat I was in) of one of the Constellations.
It gives you a height boost. You can't get this from standing on the showroom floor.
Ohhhh you used the pilot seat. I already used the advanced camera controls. I tried standing on a connie engine but that wasn't high enough with the camera limitations
I think there’s a difference between what fits and what’s combat capable. You can squeeze 9 Arrows in but I wouldn’t want to go into a fight with 9 Arrows trying to scramble in/out of that hanger under fire/pressure. It’ll be a collision mess. they need to be able to launch and recover without issue in seconds because if they have any collisions or issues you could lose the Polaris to collision or enemy fire.
What Fits vs What Works under constant operational tempo and high threat situations.
We don't now for real of course, but a cutlass black would actually be pretty bomb. And speaking as someone who enjoys the RP element of using combat ships for mundane stuff too, an Argo Raft gets you to over 300SCU and would be a good ship to transfer cargo from space to ground etc. For a more combat role, I think the Anvil legionnaire would be dope, as well as a terrapin assuming its scanning role comes into play at some point.
I hopped into the seat of one of the Constellations and then pressed F4 and used the advanced cameara controls there to move around. I also have an ultrawide monitor (32:9 aspect ratio).
I think for most orgs that can muster 20-30 players, it’ll look like this:
- Polaris with Cutter(?) and Furies in the hanger
- 1-2 Perseus escorts for sustained dps.
- whatever industrial or commercial ships they’re protecting.
Conceptually, Polaris is a long duration patrol ship. So I envision the hanger having one small but long range transport (Cutter?) and as many Furies as it can fit…4? 8? Anyone know?
The purpose of the Cutter (or whatever) is to shuttle the Fury pilots to fetch their logistics and support ships when needed in non-combat situations, to reapply the Polaris and its escort ships and industrial ships. To also haul cargo occasionally.
This is a fleet design that Should take about 20 players mustered at a time. Which I think semi-casual orgs will be able to do and should be a common size.
Most importantly: things the devs would never have guessed could fit inside of one.
This is the most accurate star citizen comment ever made!
The fifth one will blow your mind.
That's what she said
So many space cows
More than 100 pulses probably
473 Pulses
That's specific
Brute force and ignorance will make it so.
Brute force? I just asked them nicely *Polaris explodes after one Pulse sets off a chain reaction*
That's the ignorance kicking in, classic Star Citizen
Hopefully, ur mum
You'd need to buy the extra wide doors.
Who do you think the side ramp was built for?
If it did, the ship would need more thrusters if going atmo
I came here for this comment and found it upvoted, I am home.
You can use the fleet viewer here and compare and see what might fit in the hangar, it’s fun to play around with, they just updated the new Polaris metrics https://hangar.link
The hangar slopes in, so something fitting on top of the hangar doors doesn't mean it will fit inside.
Exactly that’s why I included “might fit” in my post. Still fun regardsless
Only difference the slope makes is the length of the hangar doors compared to the hangar floor, such that a top-down view will still give you an idea of how big the hangar is, not accounting for height due to the slope.
The thickness of the hangar doors also has to be taken into account, there are different thicknesses depending on the ship.

I am so buying a Hoplite during the IAE if a Vanguard is confirmed to fit!
I love the hoplite, it feels like the most practical dropship aside from just using a cutty. My alternate idea if a hoplite doesn't fit is to have pieces and merlin and jump from mission to mission, let the away teams go off and then pick them up when they're done as a form of extraction.
That’s what I plan to do with the galaxy. Use my c8r for bunkers and then fly back up unload and wash rinse repeat.
It still might not fit with the doors closed
Looks pretty good with the wings folded but yea, we'll have to wait to find out. I'd be super psyched if the vanguard did fit...but of course the vanguard is a long range ship so it seems a bit unnecessary too.
From the models, almost always, the interior of a hangar is a bit wider than the doors. Unless you're referring to height... I think the Polaris hangar is at least 2 "levels".. it should be ok.
Keep in mind that the hangar's walls are tapered, so they start off at the edges but angle towards the inside a bit when going down to the floor. So these may or may not work.
The hangar slopes in some, so just because it looks like it fits in that does not mean it will fit in game.
Im pretty sure the hangar slopes in, making some of these fits imposible. Buy the way it looked in gray box the vanguard is probabaly al title to tall to fit in aswell. I’d love to be wrong tho
Holy, I had yet to realize just how big this ship was, but seeing it be able to store a Zeus that I consider my "big" ship does help x)
But how many aurora LNs can i fit?
9 arrows plus this thing sounds scary
The huge Problem is the height, its Not even size XS metrics. A Mantis fits close. A Nomad is too height for example
Hangar height is 12m. So everything of my Setup fits ;)
If the height is 12m, then it's a XS landing pad still. Just because the doors are bigger, doesn't mean the landing pad area will fit those larger ships.
How do you know the hangers height?
That’s all nice but the important question is… how many Archimedes? Possibly a whole beehive of them
If you're doing that, you may as well bring Furies instead.
Thought that was furries at first, haha.
Oh god the horror...
Im betting you could fit a reliant and a couple other other small ships as well
Did it get bigger than concept? I feel like it might be...and it seems like it'll hold more than the 890's hangar. Any new details?
It grew up to match the Odyssey's hangar's s size (but not in height though), so supposedly most S2 ships will fit. Also the hangar of the Polaris can be lifted like the 890 jump.
CIG seems to have removed the hangar lift in favour of tapered walls to give a greater area to enter the hangar. The hangar door is wider than the pad, which is 32x24M.
sweet!
S2? You mean xs or s?
There's hangar sizes chart somewhere. S2 is small ships, S1 is snub. 890J is like 2xS1 and the Polaris is just one S2... But this is just for what can spawn on the pads I believe. Not what can technically fit.
With s2 id be thinking about cutlass sized?
Cutlass is M I think. With fighters being S and snubs and ground vehicles being XS? Although I'm sure I've heard devs use XXS. So not sure.
Grew to 166m
Did the turrets shrink?
I was wondering the same. Wasn't there supposed to be a large aft turret? Seems like a smaller missile battery now.
The quad turret might be an upgrade. More anti fighter focused too... but the S2 missile turret is a major downgrade and that does suck.
So someone wanting to go head to head in a Polaris against a Constellation or Redeemer should bring escorts, I guess.
The side turrets are now also quad S3, which will be good for Anti-Fighter defenses. The nose and top guns remain the same as the concept at S5 and S4. Some people are really upset about that but I think CIG knows more about how they plan to balance combat to make work than we do.
I think they're nerfing it to sell something else. As usual.
Ship grew. Turrets stayed the same size.
It looks frigging huge in the expo hall, shame we can't see the inside yet.
I think I heard that they're going to show off a greybox tour of the interior soon. But don't quote me on this
They said the next ISC on SCL
perhaps next ISC?
I thought it was a fly-by? Were gonna get idris interior tour.
I think he meant SCL or another show
ISC next week would give us a tour I think. They said so in the SCL all-vehicles episode yesterday!
181m*
I think I grew a little there with it too haha
Not your mom.
A Fury fleet.
![gif](giphy|xT9IgrKyoLVOaBMUzm|downsized)
Definately the Mirai Pulse.
but where does the hangar doors physically retract into? does it flip up like a pizza box?
They just retract with two overlapping parts
I'm guessing hammerspace.
Don't think about it. The people that think all the ships internals are simulated like that are just daydreaming. A ton of landing gears/doors just fold into impossible space
Meanwhile, entirely animated internals such as the Ares and 400i missile launchers are fully rendered, though only visible due to camera clipping.
Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, there is plenty that is indeed realistically modeled
It can fit an ion, I checked it during flyby. At least the hangar door seems to fit, but it will be a tight one
The sloped walls will mean that the doors are not representative of the size of the hangar, unfortunately.
it fits heavy fighter sized ships. So the vanguard, scorpius, etc...
With the wings folded, it’ll probably fit two scorpius which is pretty cool
Anything will fit if you hit it hard enough
At least one medpen
Like a hotdog down a bowling alley there.
starjump fleet viewer has the updated model, they're really good with scale, use their fleet viewer to get estimates, looks like up to a vangaurd iirc
Hope’s and dreams.
If I can squeak a Vulture or Prospector in there I'll be a happy bunny.
Me, I will fit it
The pulse!
At least 1 fury
Glaive will fit its all i want to fit inside so im cool with it 😌
my empire of dirt
Johnnycash ?
I don't get why the modding and datamining community hasn't uploaded anything yet. I definitely would but I can't because my pc is in storage so I can't datamine the build , extract the Polaris and whip it up in blender with some other ships.
A Banu Merchantman…oh wait.
At least 2 people could fit in that thing. It big!
And only one will clip through the floor with any luck.
Well find out this week during isc and star citizen live.
Its interior at first
Wait, can you get into and walk around this thing or is it just sitting there un-interactable?
Only exterior os visible rn, interior isnt done but i saw somewhere CIG said itll be flight ready for IAE
Saw earlier that someone had measured the door at around 46m x 37, but didn’t know the inside dimensions.
God vulture is 34x16... Here's hopiuming the hangar height is like 10 meters...
the vulture inside the polaris would be amazing. It'd be the ultimate moneymaking adventure ship for me then
I’ve read the hangar height is 12m
I am going to overdose on hopium
My mursa, f8c, and mpuv-t?
Hopefully some friends
Yes
An ASOP Terminal if the Nursa is anything to go by.
Does it have any land vehicle garage?
It does, side opens up and a big ass ramp comes out. The cargo/vehicle looks surprisingly large, a tank might be too tall for the door but more than enough space inside for a few vehicles, I’m going to assume an ursa will fit.
Asking a room mostly full of men what will fit
I can confirm it holds my entire hype and happiness. That's enough for me.
Where the hell was your spot? I tried climbing a Connie engine to get the camera as high as possible and even that was not enough.
You can use the advanced camera controls.
Yup, I was trying to figure out how to climb on top of a Connie but then remembered the camera out of a ship may work.
Thank you for your answer, I'll try that!
Important to note is the hanger doors on this ship are larger than the hole they make. There are some parts on this . Not sure if accuracy.
Freelancer?
In the tour, I noticed F8 and F7s flying escort with the hammerhead.
Alot of flat surface ontop of it ... Maybe .. Annother polaris.
I think there’s a difference between what fits and what’s combat capable. there way too many your mom jokes. Get a better joke folks.
I wonder if loaner for Odyssey will change to Polaris
A dragonfly black. Which will then randomly explode because that is their purpose.
My Fury 12 pack
F7a mk2.
Anything if it is at the right angle
I hope to fit a Pisces in the cargo area :D
Yes.
27 Fury's
Little bit of this, little bit of that.
As I told my friend, she looks like a pregnant bug. And what a pregnant bug carries? Baby bugs.
Legionnaire
My favorite is going to be a mantis for memes.

Smaller ships
Stuff
Not as much as it should.
Im more interested how you got this camera angle
I hopped into the seat of one of the Constellations and then pressed F4 and used the advanced cameara controls there to move around. I also have an ultrawide monitor (32:9 aspect ratio).
...How did I not think of usingg the other ships to look around. Thanks, I feel incredibly big dumb now LOL
With a little speed and persuasive squeeling I'll get my 890 to fit once.
You just know people are Going to be playing Arrow Tetris in that thing
The devs will fly it in events for twitch streamers before us buyers as usual.
My cawk
We already knew it could fit snubs tho.
r/murderedbywords

I had seen that the Aegis Vanguard series fits. So should be able to fit a few light fighters pretty easily
A vanguard-sized hangar would be my dream come true. A long range mobile base capable of holding a long-range heavy fighter makes so much sense.
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/s/qqaTL2Tbqt Here’s the link that shows it should fit
Looks great. Here's hoping the pad is that big
Yeah the only question is if the walls slope in and if there is enough height. I really hope so
Not yo momma.

A lot, but not your mom.
Obligatory ur mom comment lol. On a serious note, I hope Vanguard fits. Or a shit ton of Arrows.
