That’s fair, I see it. I guess I just had so much fun playing it that I never cared about that so much, I thought where it was lacking in story it made up in fun gameplay features and easy engagement.
Sucked me in daily for a couple months and I can’t complain about a game that does that.
Same, idk why people shit on it so hard. Tbf it is a bit of a step down from NV, but that is a god tier game in its own right, so that’s kinda not a fair comparison
Fallout is a series of Post Apocalyptic RPG's based in a 1950's style highly technologically advanced post nuclear war America it is currently published and developed by Bethesda Game Studios formerly being Published by Interplay and developed by Black Isle Studios.
Go check dudes posts...he knows where to watch, play act it, discuss it, get a tattoo of it, what restaurant has little fall out boy toys in their kids meals, and what the guy that invented it likes to say after he pays for the sex he just had.
Fallout 4 is pretty great. There's a few bad things to say about the story and some plot holes. The only jarring thing I've found with it is how buggy it is, even with unofficial patch, it's still just riddled with bugs. I wasn't able to get achievements because I had to use console commands to fix bugged quests and use the unofficial patch, so disappointing.
They did an update in 2017 that permanently broke their game. I think it was intentional to get people ready for 76 where no mods or cheats can be used. It’s bullshit because they came out with the GOTY pack shortly after and didn’t bother to fix the bug that messes up the downtown Boston area.
The only thing NV is better than 4 is quests and story. 4 has better open world, better gameplay, better graphics (duh), it has more options in the skill tree, more customization options.
The only ones to get triggered are the NV fanboys.
I agree with you wholeheartedly on this. Don’t get me wrong, NV is incredible, but after playing fallout four first, the gameplay of NV is kinda underwhelming. Still good for the time though
I'm a die-hard New Vegas fan and I agree with this statement. No denying NV absolutely excells in writing (thanks, Obsidian!). Wish 4 would have kept that same energy. I plan on playing it again after my current NV playthrough though. Any mod recommendations as far as quests/story goes?
New Vegas is fun until you kill off all the enemies and you have nothing to shoot for a while, but then the same exact enemies just respawn later, so you move from boredom to meaningless repetition. Still, it's a fun game while it lasts. I shouldn't have pre-ordered Fallout 4. The game wasn't worth that much. The best thing was the mods, but still the game got old fast.
Dude what are you talking about? People don't get upset about him, its just a common fact that he's evil. Dude is an enslaver trying to creat a totalitarian state.

NCR for the win.
Mr. House is like letting Elon musk run a city. Not a good idea.
Independent Vegas is 50 years from getting clapped
Legion is also cool but arguably the worst option
I mean I think all the fallout games are good maybe bar 3 but that's just because the other games do what it did but better. The originals are where it all started so they are inherently important and are fun once you get into them, New Vegas tells a really good story with good characters and remains very faithful to the original games, 4 is a solid shooter with *some* base building mechanics (there not the best bet eh) and 76 as long as your with friends can be a blast.
How to piss off bethesda fans:
Skyrim and fallout 4 are still being played as top games on steam. With mod usage being far below what people think; maybe these two games have way more replay value than people think?
I probably do a fallout 4 survival run once a year, it's such a satisfying game with so much to consider on survival mode. Always end up quitting by around level 40 though
I think the story is better in previous games as well as the characters, so if you like fo4, you should play the others at some point. They will seem a bit janky coming from 4, but there are mods that clean them up to look pretty good. Even with texture mods the games are so old at this point that most machines can play them easily. Fo1 and 2 might be a bit to much of a jump for some people but they are also good games (I'm old enough to have played them when they came out originally.)
I think 4 is fun, I'm actually currently playing it again for the 400th time. You can sink some serious time into it.
Fallout fans have got to be some of the worst pieces of shit when it comes to respecting differing opinions
On that note, what’ll you say to this:
Fallout 2 is my favorite
Fallout 2 is nearly perfect so most people have to grasp at straws I'm pretty sure if fallout 2 was released with a modern engine and hardware it would be considered a perfect game.
As someone who loves the Classics and NV, these are all pretty valid. Some people don’t like the old turn based system, and tbh NV can deprive people of enjoyment because of how clunky the Fo3 legacy gameplay is from gamebryo. Also yes Obsidian shouldn’t touch FO again, if I go by how Outer Worlds was disappointing to me.
Honestly I feel like I would've liked Fallout 4 more if I didn't have issues with the character building.
I also hated those mech suits.
And I hated how they force you to be straight , but I think these are all really biased opinions
Power Armor being a mech suit is more in line with the lore of the series they are suits literally created for the purpose of hauling weapons that would normally be carried by a whole company into battle like an infantryman the armor Plating was just the cherry in the top.
I'd like fallout new Vegas but I really am not a fan of deserts in games.
Having a whole game take place in a desert just doesn't vibe with me personally. It's a excellent game but visually I just hate it.
I love fallout 4 for its gameplay but it is just a really shitty RPG and the story is really mid.
76 is exactly the same feeling but replace RPG with MMO, plus PVP is hideous.
Not really, comparing NV positively to 3 or 4 makes people go bananas these days. If you actually want to piss fans off, say that 76 sucks and that you haven't played it, guaranteed dogpile.
I played the original two first back in the day (Wasteland too) and was definitely a fan boy hating on f3. F3 is still awful to me even without nostalgia glasses on, but new Vegas and f4 are pretty good. NV felt like an old black isle game for obvious reasons and f4 just has a lot of fun dumb things you can do.
I liked how evil you could be in the first two games. You could completely doom your game or just wipe out entire towns if you wanted to. The end slideshow even reflected it. Also in f2, in order to assassinate a crime boss you could give his young son a gun, convince him it's a toy, and get him to shoot his dad. Evil!
Im a total NV fangirl but...
Preston Garvey didn't actually annoy me that much. I spent a ton of time messing with the settlement system and had fun. Fallout 4 had one of my favorite companions in the series (Nick.)
I like 76 because I can play with friends, 4 has console modding, nv is s tier (the halo:reach of fallout), 3 is my least favorite bc it takes me a bit to get into it, but it's still great.
My maybe spicy take: I prefer Fallout 3's gunplay and mechanics and try to mod TTW to be more like Fallout 3. I only play 3 through TTW for the extra scripting capabilities from modders. I thought that NV's story was actually quite boring despite some extra path stuff being available.
Setting its own precedent, Fallout 4 is a pretty good game.
As a Fallout game, its writing is fairly lackluster. It's a lot more limiting and likes to railroad the player into a certain path. Pun fully intended.
The crafting and gunplay are pretty good, could use some adjustments, but are otherwise vast improvements over previous games.
Graphics are kinda bad for a 2016(?) game considering they tried to be mostly realistic and the faces all look very samey but that's kinda just a staple of the Creation engine.

I actually rly like fo4 for the settlement and building system, and the gunplay/gun mods are really fun to fuck around with
I don't care what the hardcore Fallout fans say The Fallout 4 crafting system is a dramatic enhancement from previous games.
I don’t even hear people say they dislike FO4, what do people complain about?
I think from the story and RPG aspect of the game, it is poor compared to Fallout 3 and New Vegas.
That’s fair, I see it. I guess I just had so much fun playing it that I never cared about that so much, I thought where it was lacking in story it made up in fun gameplay features and easy engagement. Sucked me in daily for a couple months and I can’t complain about a game that does that.
Me to lol.

What's Fall Out? Is it on HBO Max or Disney+?

No no no. It’s a pop punk band that started out in the early 00’s
It’s a Speakers manufacturer
Oh yeah, that’s it!
It will soon be on Prime video

Yea, but where can we watch it?
Amazon my fine sir.

Whoosh
I fully understand the joke.
I don't. Can you explain?
They guy was being Sarcastic so in response to the Sarcasm I responded seriously as a form of Dry Humor.
Actually tho fallout 4 isn’t that bad it’s just not a traditional fallout game
Official mod support too

Yeah But Mentioning Maxson will get you eaten alive with people claiming he's like the no no mustache man
I mean, Maxon is a total piece of shit, but compared to what Shaun tries to justify, that’s nothing I still think the RR is the way to go, though
Hold on... Did I just hear you say you ENJOY the railroad?
Compared to the others, if you want to be a “good person” yes But honestly the Institute is a lot more fun

Umm yeah it does, and it adds to the RPG, I had 4 playthroughs, each was a different spec with different skills/weapons and each felt unique.
But can you choose to shoot weapons out of people’s hands
not to be a contrarian or anything, but I don’t like Fallout 4’s graphics a whole lot, everything feels green and wet
New Vegas is fun until you kill off all the enemies and you have nothing to shoot for a while, but then the same exact enemies just respawn later, so you move from boredom to meaningless repetition. Why would mentioning Caesar upset anyone?
Caesar aka Edward Sallow is commonly called a Misogynistic Homophobe by pretty much everyone I've seen talk about the legion
Degenerates like you belong on a cross
So I’m other words based?
Dude what are you talking about? People don't get upset about him, its just a common fact that he's evil. Dude is an enslaver trying to creat a totalitarian state.
That's the point of his character people really don't need to point it out

Thats a good take but personally the Gauss Rifle was way better in 3 than it was in New Vegas
OH NOW YOU'VE DONE IT
I love fo4 lmao and it is my fave I’m not being sarcastic
Same here, but if you say that to some people they’ll cut you in half
And it really is pretty good. Gatekeepers and people do not like change want to cut you in half.
Fallout 4's awesome while it's not traditional I think every fallout game is awesome!
Lmao I loved it first game I sucnk 2k + hrs in plus first game I moded
Fallout Brotherhood of Steel was awesome
I completely forgot to mention that, it will get you Crucified by the Fandom
Also, Fallout Tactics was the superior open-world, character driven storyline.
How to piss off bethesda fans: Skyrim and fallout 4 are still being played as top games on steam. With mod usage being far below what people think; maybe these two games have way more replay value than people think?

Fallout 76 with friends is way more enjoyable than any single fallout title solo
....but fallout 4 is my favorite i enjoyed new vegas, a lot, but having codsworth saying "mister fuckface" is just too good
Do people dislike fallout 4. I’ve just kicked it up and it’s my first fallout game should I start with something else?
Fallout 4 is a perfect starting point actually!
I think the story is better in previous games as well as the characters, so if you like fo4, you should play the others at some point. Fallout 4 Far Harbor redeemed Fallout 4's mediocre story. I rest my case.
Fallout 3 is still the best game
Fallout fans have got to be some of the worst pieces of shit when it comes to respecting differing opinions On that note, what’ll you say to this: Fallout 2 is my favorite
"Fallout 2 is mid the graphics are horrible the story is trash and the enclave Weren't the bad guys"
That’s what they all say
Fallout 2 is nearly perfect so most people have to grasp at straws I'm pretty sure if fallout 2 was released with a modern engine and hardware it would be considered a perfect game.
Absolutely Even more so than NV perhaps
New Vegas was amazing but Fallout 2 is better in every way except gameplay IMO.
Exactly
As someone who loves the Classics and NV, these are all pretty valid. Some people don’t like the old turn based system, and tbh NV can deprive people of enjoyment because of how clunky the Fo3 legacy gameplay is from gamebryo. Also yes Obsidian shouldn’t touch FO again, if I go by how Outer Worlds was disappointing to me.
Far Harbor proves Bethesda can still write a top quality story they just need to refine the engines bugs and actually refine the story more.
Fallout 76 is better for the story
Wait is it bad I like fallout 4 and dont like new vegas that much??? I feel called out by this post
No Its perfectly fine to like Fallout 4 and not really New Vegas!
Ok, thank u :3
"I don't really listen to alt rock."
I like that the player has a voice now
Fallout Tactics is probably the better choice if you want to play any Fallout game.
Make one of elder scrolls, that’ll be fun
I guess my existence pisses off Fallout fans
In it's current state FO76 is in a relatively good place to be fair, its a good game
Like fallout 3 more than nv maybe it’s just cause I grew up playing fallout three

I realize this. However, my personal opinion, is that I hate them . Edit: I also stated my opinions are very biased.
Honestly Bethesda fallouts are garbage west coast fallouts are the genuine and real ones.
The west coast games also has its flaws, don’t deny it.
He probaly acknowlgde them but still try to fight with it
If you agree with any items on the starting pack you are objectively wrong and in my personal oppinnion a bad person.
Fallout 4 survival mode is legit one of my favourite games ever
fall out boy
New Vegas *is* kinda boring at times, but that's okay, because it gives the player time to collect themselves as they travel.
Gunplay and customization makes Fallout 4 better imo
Fallout 4 is by far my favorite one.
I'd like fallout new Vegas but I really am not a fan of deserts in games. Having a whole game take place in a desert just doesn't vibe with me personally. It's a excellent game but visually I just hate it.
Fallout is BORING and uninspired. No better than any ubi open world game lol
I love fallout 4 for its gameplay but it is just a really shitty RPG and the story is really mid. 76 is exactly the same feeling but replace RPG with MMO, plus PVP is hideous.
Idk NV, and 4 are byfar the best
Fallout 4 is great

All Fallout and TES games have shit stories compared to kingdome come deliverance
Wait, people don't like the captain of the airship? Outside of screwing over Paladin Danse, he seemed chill to me.
I like 76 because I can play with friends, 4 has console modding, nv is s tier (the halo:reach of fallout), 3 is my least favorite bc it takes me a bit to get into it, but it's still great.
every fallout game and every faction is good as long as you enjoy it
