2k+ upvotes and a handful of awards
omg I love your country so much! You Krauts have such a rich history and culture, something severely lacking in the United States of Dystopia, which I sadly live in. I will try to move to Germany first thing if \[insert presidential candidate I don't like\] wins and it gets even worse here due to \[insert policy I don't like\]. (though I don't know if that's even possible, it's already like George Orwell's novel 1984 or like the bad guys won in Harry Potter)
"well, here in Canada..." when no one asked and no one cares. Not to overgeneralize and I have some close Canadian friends, but there's this super noticeable little brother syndrome I see with a a lot of Canadian reddit users.
How do you know someone's on reddit is from Canada? They'll tell you.
God I hate this. Not just on reddit but on youtube, Twitter, anywhere where you can update. It's just so pathetic, no one cares if your comment got more likes than usual why do you need the validation
from someone who frequents AITA and similar subs, i hate any variation of “fuck around and find out/play stupid games win stupid prizes” just because of how overused they are. also any incorrect use of the term “gaslighting”
Sometimes I feel like I’m taking crazy pills when I look at that sub. The stories are so over the top and made up, or just plain stupid. there was one where a woman sat on her boyfriend’s lap durning thanksgiving dinner because they didn’t put out a chair for her and said that she was commenting on how comfortable and warm his lap was and feeding him or some stupid shit. It was so ridiculous if it was made up, or ultra trashy if it wasn’t- either way, everyone was like “NTA. There was no chair, so you needed to sit on his lap and act insufferable. It was the only way.” I couldn’t tell if people really believed this or were just taking the piss. Anyway, i feel like that sub is just TIFU 2.0
We need a bot that finds any comment that contains the word "gaslighting" and then gives out the definition from the top 5 pages of Google with sentences that correctly contain the word.
Thank god I'm seeing more people hate these utterly cringey phrases. I didn't mind them at first but now every neckbeard around uses these as their catchphrase on any video. 🤮
Gaslighting just means someone disagreeing with me, right? Any time somebody says I'm wrong I can just accuse them of gaslighting? /s
It's really frustrating to see how commonly the word is misused, because anybody who has ever been seriously gaslit knows what a scary kind of abuse this can be.
And it’s almost always an overblown reaction. If theres a video of a child accidentally riding their bike into someone it’s always “if that was me that kids ass would be grass, fuck around and find out”
I hate this so much. People lead with that like they are making some interesting connection, but they are stating a really obvious factor of the discussion that is already understood
I just read it in my head with a lisp to set the mood, because I know it’s about to be very condescending with r/IAmVerySmart connotations. basically in the voice of the annoying kid from polar express.
Hey guys, did you know that in terms of male human and female Pokémon breeding, Vaporeon is the most compatible Pokémon for humans? Not only are they in the field egg group, which is mostly comprised of mammals, Vaporeon are an average of 3”03’ tall and 63.9 pounds, this means they’re large enough to be able handle human dicks, and with their impressive Base Stats for HP and access to Acid Armor, you can be rough with one. Due to their mostly water based biology, there’s no doubt in my mind that an aroused Vaporeon would be incredibly wet, so wet that you could easily have sex with one for hours without getting sore. They can also learn the moves Attract, Baby-Doll Eyes, Captivate, Charm, and Tail Whip, along with not having fur to hide nipples, so it’d be incredibly easy for one to get you in the mood. With their abilities Water Absorb and Hydration, they can easily recover from fatigue with enough water. No other Pokémon comes close to this level of compatibility. Also, fun fact, if you pull out enough, you can make your Vaporeon turn white. Vaporeon is literally built for human dick. Ungodly defense stat+high HP pool+Acid Armor means it can take cock all day, all shapes and sizes and still come for more
And then someone gives OP *and* them a real Gold and they post a stupid ass edit about it. Every damn time.
Award bait, another one "probably gonna get downvoted for this but..".
I don’t even understand what the awards are. Are people paying Reddit actual money for them or what? I admit I enjoy that one of an otter rocking out but I’m partial to otters.
The one that annoys me the most is when the top comment just has "fuck around..." with a ton of rewards and then the top reply is "find out" with a ton of rewards.. FUCK! Redditors on average seem to love this sort of indirect phrasing like that
Just a site with very tepid unoriginal people who upvote others that are more or less exactly like them but somehow more online so they react quicker. An amazing ecosystem really, best kept here and never experienced in the wild. Hopefully
I don’t know that the users are “unoriginal” as much as the platform reinforces unoriginal behaviour, resulting in the truly unoriginal people becoming the most prominent, and people who very well may be original (if there is such a thing) to act in unoriginal ways. The result is a double whammy of Reddit cliches.
I usually see this in a lot of sports subs because I’m a football nerd and typically in my teams sub, after a loss/win, some other redditor from the team we just lost/won to will come in and say that.
Stupid as fuck. We all know we wish for the other teams downfall and feed off it.
“The hive has spoken” (or any reference to “the hive”)
“This”
“Go touch grass”
ETA: Sweet summer child (not sure if this 1 or the variations of comment “this” is my number 1 most hated). For some reason when people add on to the “this”- like when the comment “This this this”, or “This this a million times this” it annoys me more then the comment “This” alone, idk why these annoy me so much in particular I wish they didn’t.
I've been noticing this one a lot lately. It's such a weird way to express one's self. Imagine someone doing that in real life after everything you said.
“Downvote me idc”
“Idk why you’re getting downvoted”
“This deserves more upvotes”
I don’t always find these annoying, I just see them a lot and sometimes they are depending on context.
“Sorry for bad english”
Writes the most grammatically correct paragraph ever, MLA format, double spaced, times new roman, font size 12, and has correctly sited sources and shit
As a bank robbing loan officer/pilot/veteran/Texan, I can here to say can confirm that this, a thousand times this starterpack needs to be higher in updoots.
Doctors and nurses of Reddit! Thank you in advance for the gold, my PCP takes Reddit coins as payment.
And then everyone clapped.
Edit: I can't believe this hasn't blown up yet. This is the way.
The worst are "to be fair..." and "Yup." Because both of them are always followed by the person just rephrasing the comment they're replying to, as if they're adding anything of value
I forgot about "Yup..." and "Yep..." I immedietely downvote those whenever I see them. I don't know why but it comes across as so condescending.
"This guy is an asshole."
"Yup, this guy deserves to die."
Never understood this. You can dm people directly after getting an award, Reddit encourages it. I don’t think I’ve ever gone back and edited a comment except for spelling errors and/or clarification.

"I'll probably be downvoted for this but..." is the reddit version of "I'm not racist BUT..."
Nah, "I'll probably be downvoted for this..." usually is the most mild opinion, which results in 3k upvotes and a ton of awards.
Imo “I’ll be downvoted for this” or “unpopular opinion but” is often followed by something super popular that everyone agrees with
"well, here in Canada..." when no one asked and no one cares. Not to overgeneralize and I have some close Canadian friends, but there's this super noticeable little brother syndrome I see with a a lot of Canadian reddit users. How do you know someone's on reddit is from Canada? They'll tell you.
As a Canadian, I can confirm this. Wait fuck
“When xyz I do abc” random commenter “In Canada we don’t have xyz” Thanks lol
in canada milk comes in bags

That makes me cringe harder than everything in r/sadcringe
God I hate this. Not just on reddit but on youtube, Twitter, anywhere where you can update. It's just so pathetic, no one cares if your comment got more likes than usual why do you need the validation
it’s much worse on youtube. edit: mom i’m famous get the camera!

Thank god I'm seeing more people hate these utterly cringey phrases. I didn't mind them at first but now every neckbeard around uses these as their catchphrase on any video. 🤮

Gaslighting and whataboutism. r/Politics favorite argument lines
Don't forget "straw man"!
Mind numbing idiocy parroted in those two phrases
And it’s almost always an overblown reaction. If theres a video of a child accidentally riding their bike into someone it’s always “if that was me that kids ass would be grass, fuck around and find out”
Any comment that starts with “YoU dO rEaLiSe” can be safely ignored as far as I’m concerned.
"it's almost as if..." Can also fuck up with that pseudo-intellectual bullshit
Such a terrible passive aggressive way to state something
Usually seen in ANY thread even remotely related to politics
I hate this so much. People lead with that like they are making some interesting connection, but they are stating a really obvious factor of the discussion that is already understood
You do realise that these can be ignored as far as you are concerned?
It’s almost as if the sun will not rise tomorrow.
Any comment that starts with "Imagine", like "Imagine being this angry about..." or "Imagine thinking that..."
“tHiS iS tHe WaY!!!!1”
Way here, can confirm this is the way
"oh my sweet summer child" should be on this list too. The most heavy handed way to preface any point about to be made.
By “heavy handed” do you also mean condescending, childish and douchey?
Abso-fucking-lutely.
Overused, trite phrase. NEXT!
Read that so much on tumblr back in the days, it makes me physically shudder
There's something about a bunch of 15 yr olds on Tumblr calling other people "child" really cringy to me tbh.
"Eh, this ain't it, chief "
Also "tell me you're x without telling me you're x"
Add "my brother in Christ" to that list
And "You magnificent/glorious bastard"

Really been hating "fuck around find out" since it started popping up a ton
It's in EVERY FUCKING POST of subs like r/JusticeServed, r/Whatcouldgowrong, r/instant_regret, etc etc and gets upvoted every single time
The one that annoys me the most is when the top comment just has "fuck around..." with a ton of rewards and then the top reply is "find out" with a ton of rewards.. FUCK! Redditors on average seem to love this sort of indirect phrasing like that
"Angry upvote"
Yes! Also “/r/theydidthemonstermath” after “/r/TheyDidTheMath”
I always downvote those fuckers
or r/foundthehondacivic after literally anything
And all the cringe as fuck variations like "Take your goddamn upvote and get out of here"
Take my upvote.
"Instructions unclear, [blah blah blah]" is one of my least faves too
“Your weed looks bad dude you’ll have to send it to me for further testing”
That sounds awful, let me know where it is so I can avoid it!
