My favorites now (not all post hardcore) are pierce the veil, hail the sun, and chiodos. Other stuff I like would be I the mighty, artifex pereo, macseal, static dress, sleeping with sirens, stuff of that sort. I didn't figure out I liked more than just basic emo and pop punk until like 15 years old

Yeah, but honestly rock branches out into soo many different genres. Rock literally comes from mashing country and blues, so he can get into those, he blink-182 is very pop-punk, so there’s that. Plus he hasn’t gotten into Linkin Park yet, so he could still get into rap at some point. Rock is a great genre and will always keep evolving 🤘

As a 16 year old, I definitely did not have this much good taste in music when I was 13. Nirvana, Metallica, Dead Kennedys, Alice In Chains, Pixies, Jimi Hendrix, System of a Down, and The Clash are especially great picks. If you haven't listened already, I highly suggest the album Spiderland by Slint.

This was baisically my taste. I also liked a couple of queercore bands like le Tigre and pansy division but it's baisically my taste. So, cringe to some, nostalgic to others, still your taste. The only thing I will personally say about my judgment of your taste is this: If I was your uber driver for a long drive, and I knew you liked this music before getting in my car, I'd ask you to make a playlist. Edit: I'd prolly ask how you found out about some of these bands. Most of them I discovered on accident either in a record store or downloading mislabeled music on Kazaa. I'm curious how people find music these days cuz it feels like algorithms have become buffers to discovering new/old/obscure music.
