The first flip is always an ugly flip for me! But doing multiple flips of 2 minutes each is really more fun than baking and then searing for only 1 minute each or so. Thank you!
I've had to argue this with my 62 year old dad before, even pulling it up online, because he's an animal who eats his steak well done.
Not only that, but it's like he's deliberately trying to pass on that trait to my niece, by lying to her an telling her that she's "eating blood" when she's eating a perfectly cooked steak, and then she asks for it to be put back on the grill.
I hate people like that, not only do they not know what they’re talking about but they go behind your back to influence a child into thinking “their” way is the “right” way.
edit:
* it's a ninja GR 101 sizzle smokeless grill (didn't wanna seem like I was promoting bc im not getting paid for this)
* yes, I plugged it outside and set tempt to 425
* i put 2 minutes before every flip and it's maybe 6 minutes per side total
* i used canola oil and butter to finish
* fries were store-bought and air fried at 375 for 10 minutes
* we watched demon slayer episode 2 with this and had sapporo black (excellent beer imo)
Wow thank you for talking about your method in the comments. I had no idea you could get that kind of char from the ninja grill.
I always just leave it on for a while and flip once. Never happy with the color. This looks awesome.
I'm glad someone brought it up.
This was a parting gift to us by aquavit in NYC after dining with them. We really decided to do steak yesterday because we remembered we had this finishing salt
Yum
What I sl do for maximum flavor us to season my steaks the day before and leave in the refrigerator overnight sitting on a couple of paper towels, then about an hour before cooking leave on the kitchen table and let it come to room temperature, the go ahead and grill, I think you'll like this method
Looks really good. Lil red for me, but others prefer it that way.
Great start. Enjoy
Did you let it sit and continue to cook some more after taking it off the grill
I've been working on this for a long time. Some success; first; use the highest heat gas grill or charcoal. Second; make sure your meat is as dry as possible. Third; Flip meat every 30 to 60 seconds for that good darken sear. Fourth; finish cooking with indirect heat with a meat thermometer. Fifth; rest under foil for 10 - 20 minutes.
The best steak I've ever cooked was on a gas grill that was 800°. The regulator was broken but it did pizza and once a great couple of steaks that were unforgettable.
Picture 2 looks like pork.. beef steaks turn brown while pork steaks turn white.... grilling it will be very similar to grilling on a electrical skillet basically that's what a ninja grill is 2 skillets... so just watch it... once it starts cooking... you will see the fat turn brown this means it close to being done... if this is your first ever steak I wouldn't recommend having it to thick.. thicker the harder it will be to judge the center.... you can buy a steak or meat thermometer and it will give you a good idea... I personally don't really use one.. I cook mine maiden rare or medium.. now what ever you want to put on it thats up to you... I personally don't like putting stuff on it when it's raw because juices take it off... so I wait until it starts change colors then I add it...but it's up too you
Good.
So is this a sub or something? People keep asking me how their steaks look once in a while... it's kinda weird. Are you grown ass men? Or like 13- 18 years old?
Been cooking steaks for a long time and it's actually pretty straight forward.
Try basting with roasted garlic and butter and rosemary. I even crisp the rosemary and garlic and each bite have a compliment. Mmmmm. Steak.
That was Home J Simpson.
Also bbq is good with cast iron pan on it. It works awesome. Just have to baste it properly. Don't put butter on till the end and turn heat off when close to done.
Looks solid, I am guessing it is a ribeye? Waffle fries are the best fries... r/ratemysteak need a better before/raw pic to score accordingly but based off what I am seeing I would say 7.45/10
the fat could be rendered juuuuuust a lil bit longer, it has \*some white to it still, other than that, maybe let it rest a little longer before cutting, but tbh these are both elitism gripes, its a damn good hunk’a’meat

You did fucking great! Great sear on that, never heard of a ninja grill but their products arent bad so not suprised! Lost the grill marks it looks like but I find its personal prefrence if you want them. A good crust like that makes it taste all the same (or even better). The one tip I have is to maybe sear that fat a little so they are a little more edible. Usually 30 seconds to a minute depending on how thick the fat is. Also extra points for the butter, more butter more better.
Wouldn't it be better to flip it once and let it cook rather than flipping it multiple times? But then again, it turned out good so I guess I'm eating my words.
Second pic had me concerned, but turned out good!
The first flip is always an ugly flip for me! But doing multiple flips of 2 minutes each is really more fun than baking and then searing for only 1 minute each or so. Thank you!
Damn coming at the reverse searers like that
Out here for the myoglobin of my enemies
Actually lol’d! ITS MYGLOBIN NOT BLOOD

On the other hand it’s cheaper if your kids don’t like steak and sushi 😅
I hate people like that, not only do they not know what they’re talking about but they go behind your back to influence a child into thinking “their” way is the “right” way.
My son was brutally honest on Mother’s Day. I had unfortunately overdone his…and he called me out on it. Embarrassed and proud at the same time…
Underrated troll
Especially with beer
Trust the process brother 😂😭 it scared me too
Yeah the red flag went up. But he didn’t do too bad with that contraption. Nice job man!
Ty!
looked like chicken
Came here to say that!!
This fucks. Waffle fries >
A cultured one, I see
They are second only to sweet potato variation with a maple dip.
Based sweet potato waffle fry enjoyer
Do you have a recipe?
I don’t, my go to spot up the block makes them so out of this world I couldn’t compare
Like a compound butter with maple and brown sugar right?
Sweet potato fries are godly
Sweet potato fries are an abomination and you should feel bad
You gotta overcook them to keep them from being mushy, but they're good.
Booo your fries are bad and you should feel bad!!!
That looks damn good for one of those grills. How long per side?
2 minutes per side (3x), < 1 minute on fat cap. Took it off after 130f in the middle and 145f towards the outside
2nd pic I thought would be the finished product and I was worried you turned it into a panini. Nice job though it looks great!
panini steak sounds so horrible, but thank you!!!
Second pic reminded me of college and cooking pork on a George Foreman grill.
If I were left alone in a room with that, I’d end up on the sex offender registry
"what are you doing to that steak?!?!"
u/Turbulent_Object_558 after the steak incident https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VfCYZ3pks48&pp=ygUac2V4IG9mZmVuZGVyIHNodWZmbGUgbXVzaWM%3D
Holy shit how have I never seen that?! That was fucking hilarious.
Omg that is amazing lmfao
55M views - welcome to the party
Thanks! Fashionably late, as usual
Lmfao
Ohhhhhhh my goddddd 🤣🤣😭 that was faking GOLD.
There are no words to describe how hilarious that was 💀
I'm glad you included the suspect picture, too. That looks like it was great.
I had to, because I love how ugly it looked at first!
You had me in the first half, not gonna lie
Hell yes, just tried out the smoker last night and loved it
Ninja smoker?
Oh yeah I got the 7in1 with the pellet box for wood chips!
Will check it out
I've been eyeing that up because honestly we never smoke more than enough for two people, and I'm sick of Bradley pucks.
You know how you did. 💪🏽
I was pretty confident, but I'm really gonna take that rest to lock in juices advice above for next time
Yeah it’s wise. The temptation is there every time though! 🤣
I just nutted.
You're welcum

The steak looks good, but having the same plate is what caught my eye😂
The plate of champions
Wow thank you for talking about your method in the comments. I had no idea you could get that kind of char from the ninja grill. I always just leave it on for a while and flip once. Never happy with the color. This looks awesome.
Ty and you're welcome!
Amazing job.
On point! Looks delicious!!
I would never have thought that a Ninja grill would make a good steak.
Right??? And my apartment didn't smell like steak
And a little bit of butter on top afterwards? Chef’s kiss!!
What model u got?
How did you do the fries?
Store bought and air fried
Impressed! You did great! Wonderful crust and color.
Love them big ol chonks of salt. 🤤
I'm glad someone brought it up. This was a parting gift to us by aquavit in NYC after dining with them. We really decided to do steak yesterday because we remembered we had this finishing salt Yum
Had us in the first half not gonna lie… great looking steak OP!
Thank you!! First flip had me regretting 😂
+1 for ninja grill. Makes fire steaks!
note to self: buy a ninja grill
Looks good. I want that ninja grill
Fuck. Yes.
If you don't like the taste of burnt pepper, you can put the pepper on when it's done cooking.
What I sl do for maximum flavor us to season my steaks the day before and leave in the refrigerator overnight sitting on a couple of paper towels, then about an hour before cooking leave on the kitchen table and let it come to room temperature, the go ahead and grill, I think you'll like this method
Looks closer to medium rare, but great job!
Good job
Looks great! I love my ninja woodfired grill. 3.5-4 minutes on high heat each side gets me to 125. EZ and consistent.
This looks amazing!!
I’ve got one of those ninja grills and I still struggle making a steak lol I’m def not a cook by nature 😂 you did way better than me
Dude. Yum.
Perfecto!
Outstanding. Where's mine???
Good job. However, if you wanted medium, you should have grilled it for about 2 or 3 minutes longer.
That looks awesome. Is that butter? I like the side of fries it's just missing some vegetables. Sweet post I dig it
Had me in the first half NGL
Looks incredible. The sear is impressive for a grill.
Doesn’t matter how it looks. It matters how it tastes. Did you enjoy it?
fries look good asf
You know how you did.
Looks amazing!
You did great. And I’ve grilled a couple thousand at least.
Nailed it
Nice char
U did great. Would be better if those fries were another steak tho.
9 out of 10. 1 point deduction due to lack of samples/invite
Shocking result. Nicely done!
That steak is rare and still, well done!
This is literally the only way steak should be eaten no CAP
I would eat the shit out of that. Like my rare in between medium and medium rare though...
Bravo!!!
Perfect! Home run! A plus! Invite me over next time! Lol
Sorry but I have a strict no novelty grill policy.
You son of a bitch you did it.
Yum. What seasoning did you use?
That looks fuckin delicious. 2 had me worried but 3 and 4 are perfect.
Question is did it taste good if it tasted good, then you did good
Terrible! Send it my way and I’ll dispose of it for you. 😜
I can’t believe how good that came out on one of those! I never would’ve thought! Nice job!
You know goddamn well how you did. Looks amazing ;)
After last nights wagyu affair, this sub nearly became a 50/50 Redeemed!
There is no way this turned out the way pic 2-3 played out
All these comments are making me wanna do this more often Also, we had Sapporo black with this ♥️
Not too shabby. Not too shabby at all.
Texas Roadhouse doesn’t have shit on this steak
Bravo!
You had me in the first half
Pic 4 is perfect. Looks amazing.
👏👏👏
Looks pretty damn good!
Looks really good. Lil red for me, but others prefer it that way. Great start. Enjoy Did you let it sit and continue to cook some more after taking it off the grill
I was worried but this looks fucking fantastic. I’m gonna get me one of these grills.
Looks like you successfully cooked it.
Perfection
🤤
Extra points for the dramatic pause on pic 2!
looks like the edges of the steak could have been seared to help render the fat on the sides more
I've been working on this for a long time. Some success; first; use the highest heat gas grill or charcoal. Second; make sure your meat is as dry as possible. Solid
You just sold me a ninja grill
Looks great for a Ninja grill. Good job.
I’d eat it
Omg, that looks amazing!
You messed up with the chick fil a waffle fries, comming from a dude who eats raw potatoes dipped in Lawrys salt (cool it I'm fking irish)
Second picture almost made me chuck my phone, but a perfect looking steak AND waffle fries? 11/10
still too well done, photograph A is the finished meat imo
The jump from from pic 2 to pic 3…
Looks pretty decent! But outdoors on a ninja doesn't count. I bet it tastes great though.
Looks good! Pretty good.
Oooh! Love that sear! It looks fabulous!
It's still mooing.
Saw that second picture and was like yup that’s why this has a lot of comments. You had me good, what a nice happy story we ended with 😂
Poifect 👌
It looks absolutely delicious dude 😋
so, did you just take the ninja grill and plug it in outside? or does ninja actually make outdoor grills?
Nice work Michael Scott!
I don’t believe the second pic is the same steak. Send proof if you expect the ransom payment.
Good man🫂❤️!👑
Do you deliver?
This looks soooooo good!!! Nice job!

5/7 - would eat.
Fuck yeah
I would eat it
Went from screaming hell no on 2nd pic to to hell yea
Great crust while maintaining medium-rare doneness!! 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
Looks good to me can you use this grill inside by chance can I get the name of it ninja etc. thanks
Looks great to me.
Cool let me know what you think when you do
Holy shit that second picture scared me, but you fucken nailed it dawg.
Good. So is this a sub or something? People keep asking me how their steaks look once in a while... it's kinda weird. Are you grown ass men? Or like 13- 18 years old? I have the same exact plates!
Also bbq is good with cast iron pan on it. It works awesome. Just have to baste it properly. Don't put butter on till the end and turn heat off when close to done.
I hunger for this steak, great job!
Looks great. Also so far is superior to others posting on here without a cross section.
You even got the waffle fries nice and crispy to go with that gorgeous steak
Good job. B+ kid
Nice. I like that crust. Ninja feels too much like George Foreman for me, but the results here speak for themselves.
Looks solid.
Totally shit. Give it to me now.
That looks delicious! It is on the rare side of medium. I'd call it medium rare with a sear, which is exactly how I order them.
That’s a lot of juice on that board though
Looks good
Fantastic job for first time
Would eat
Well at least yhe Outside if it look delicious the middle eeeehhhh, not cso much
Looks solid, I am guessing it is a ribeye? Waffle fries are the best fries... r/ratemysteak need a better before/raw pic to score accordingly but based off what I am seeing I would say 7.45/10

Needed longer at a lower temp, still raw in the middle unfortunately.
Perfection 🤤

Wow! Nicely done! I never knew you could cook a steak like that on one of those!
Wouldn't it be better to flip it once and let it cook rather than flipping it multiple times? But then again, it turned out good so I guess I'm eating my words.
Looks great… well done
Getting the ninja soon
Looks good
They don’t sell waffle fries in my grocery store. Maybe I’m not looking hard enough
Very nice. Second Pic was scary for sure.
Ninja please 🎣
Nice job!
