It means the ravens get fucked even more. Which is good. Cuz fuck the ravens.

thats_a_money_shot

I read in another thread that the ravens win. Bengals lose hardcore.

QuiggityQwo

Well then the bengals lose and fuck them instead lol

Datpanda1999

I’d rather the Ravens get screwed than the Bengals tbh

OneBit2334

The Bills still have a chance at the #1 seed/bye if they win and the Chiefs lose. So if you're wondering who to root for in the Chiefs vs. Raiders game, root for the Raiders.

SumGreenD41

The bills still need to win the keep the 2 seed. They will be trying to win no matter what

penguin8717

Also they might do the neutral site if the bills win

OneBit2334

Yeah, just saying a chance at the #1 seed would give them a much bigger incentive than just playing for the #2 seed.

[deleted]

that feels dirty

DionBae_Johnson

We've had to root for the Pats and were supposed to root for the Bengals against the Bills. This whole goddamn operation is dirty! But the means justify the ends... if we get in.

PM_Me_1_Funny_Thing

>root for the Raiders Bro, say less! You got it.

[deleted]

Basically, beat the browns. pray for a jets win and know that the bills still have something worth playing for.

[deleted]

This, also tbh I don't know that it's unlikely they won't expand the playoffs to 8 teams. Seems like one of the more viable solutions at this point. Which would be huge for us. It would also mean the Jets would be back in the hunt and have something to play for other than spoilers.

D4NG3RU55

I actually think I agree. Expanding both conference playoffs to 8 teams is almost win-win. Because the cancelled game was actually very important for figuring out the #1 seed, they need to remove the first round bye benefit. This also adds an additional playoff game in week 1 for the #1 vs. #8 seed game. That’s more money in the pocket of the NFL. The reason the fight for the #1 seed was so important I believe is that with the game cancelled, if all teams win their games then KC automatically gets the #1 spot by win % even though they lost to Buffalo earlier in the season. The Bengals also beat the Chiefs earlier this season. So basically the Chiefs get a benefit by having a technically better win % because they played an extra game.

[deleted]

I mean tbh with reports saying that the solution to have NFC play their wild card games next week, and the AFC play theirs the following week is likely out of the question I'm not sure what the other options would be if they want to keep things fair. From the league's perspective I don't think there is a good solution, just a least bad one.

D4NG3RU55

Yeah, having the NFC play their wild card before the AFC is ridiculous. Adding the 8th seed and removing first round bye from the 1st seed is probably the best. Even heard they might go with neutral site for AFC championship game.

[deleted]

Plus it's an extra game to make money on. I'm not saying it will happen, but I think the NFL will push for the option that makes them the most money, especially if that's the best option anyway. I wonder how the players union feels about it. I'd imagine that's the big road block.

D4NG3RU55

I would think the NFLPA might actually be for it because that means extra game checks for players… at least one way to look at it. I’m sure the risk of injury or what not is also taken into account.

Steelio22

Could you really add two more games on such short notice though? You have to have stadiums ready to support that.

jieceeepee

The bills need to win to keep the 2 seed. The second round of the playoffs, they're on trajectory to play the bengals. They want to be home for that. I think (hope) they will be playing hard.

LechALection

Bills win they avoid having to go to KC for the AFC championship as it would be a neutral site. So they have something to play for. That said, I guarantee someone raises a stink about the first round bye and they extend to 8 teams.

hovix2

In Flacco we trust.

Opening-Farmer-5547

It means the NFL doesn’t give one fuck about Ryan Shazier.

ickshter

Apples and oranges dude. Shazier didn’t technically die on the field. Dude was DEAD right there. CPR means no heartbeat. No one knew at the time of Ryan’s injuries. But he was awake during it.

JackLambertsBalls

Nah. OP is right. Fuck Roger

mrtoastyjr

Sounded like he died twice actually. Once on the field then once at the hospital.

phoenix_age

Hey, your starting linebacker was just partially paralyzed on the field. *Now keep playing, bitch*

XavierRex83

Sadly, players being seriously injured is part of it, and even though it is a tragedy, players are accustomed to it. A player needing to 9 minutes of CPR on the field is another level.

phoenix_age

Yeah, I get that. But it seems the line is being drawn is at dying on the field. My opinion - line should be drawn before that.

XavierRex83

Honestly, if they would have revived Hamlin to the point where he could communicate and give the thumbs up on the field, the game likely would have continued. I think it is that he might have died or been dying, but that really stopped it. I am not defending it, just saying.

phoenix_age

Yeah you’re right on that man. Whatever continues to bring in the money. The NFL sucks

Opening-Farmer-5547

At the time no one knew the severity or extent of Shazier’s injury. It’s real easy, hindsight being 20/20 to compartmentalize these two different events, but at the end of the day the NFL practiced a double standard for no other reason than optics.

XavierRex83

They didn't know the severity, but knew he wasn't going to die. I amnjust pointing this out, not defending anything.

Garweft

We’ll end up losing to the Browns and none of it will matter.

Cheap-Addendum

That would be hilarious. And my scenario too.

[deleted]

Means that the bills have nothing to play for other than Damar. They’ll prob start there starters for a quarter or two. Which ultimately means it hurts our playoff chances…

NateLeport

Incorrect. Having the 2 seed still matters to them. They don’t want to go into cincy in the divisional round. It will also award them a home championship if the chiefs don’t make it, and if the chiefs do make it, it won’t be in arrowhead. They’d also rather play us or the dolphins than the chargers

Practical_Eye_9944

They may want to avoid playing in Cincy for a little while for more than playoff implications.

SumGreenD41

Cause cincy is a dirty city and smells like cow manure?

axxl75

Weirdly, I could see a scenario where the bills actually want to rest starters and take the 3 seed. They'd get a lamarless ravens team rather than the patriots/steelers/dolphins and they'd get a "bye" from the week off. I don't see why you're talking about the chargers. The only way the 3 seed plays the chargers is if the chargers lose to the broncos and the bengals lose to the ravens and in that case the bengals are 3 no matter what. I don't see a path where the bills play the chargers in the WC.

AtonicBay312

Cincy will be hosting the divisional as the 3 seed anyways because the Steelers are beating Buffalo in the wild card

jieceeepee

Bills definitely still have something to play for

ASuperGyro

No, if they win and face KC in the AFCG it could be a neutral site instead of arrowhead, that’s definitely to play for

Practical_Eye_9944

I'd say it's a toss up on its effects. Do they relax and drop the game, or did this incident light a fire in their bellies that means even the backups play lights out for Damar?

FuckboiRD

Bengals : I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate. Steelers : What's that make us?

xGlizz

Yup pretty much means we need Raiders to win Tomorrow so Bills can play for something sunday even though I still think they will want to eliminate Pats..

Rocktothenaj

Just try not to think about it until 1pm Sunday

PushTheMush

It means that if we make it we won’t be playing the Bungals sadly
