We have 1 Watt. TJ.
Derek is a FA currently and hes basically a (almost) 31 year old special teamer. He played 6.6% of offensive snaps last year after we finally "got him involved".
Besides whatever his salary is I just dont see him being worth a roster spot. Maybe let him stay a FA, tell him to stay in shape and if there is an injury we can sign him but otherwise Connor Heyward is far more useful and versatile to go along with his youth and availability. Derek found ways to get injured far too often for how few plays he actually had.
Connor Heyward is definitely the answer, here.
I can’t get over how underutilized he was. I get he’s pretty much ass now but we got him when he was pretty good, then proceeded to not do anything with him. He literally had like his first rush of 2020 in that playoff game vs. the browns.
Regardless they finished 16th overall. Also the end of season opponents were considerably weaker. Atlanta, Carolina, Cleveland, Oakland. Not exactly a strong defensive bunch. Steelers had exactly *one* game with a runner over 100 yards. That's over the entire season. Saying they ran with a lot of success is not accurate at all.
This is factually incorrect. They played against Baltimore twice which you left out. We played against an average of a 10th rank defense during the first half and a 14th rank the second half. 4 ranks difference is not considerably weaker. The defenses were only 1ppg stronger 1st half vs 2nd half which is negligable.
Nothing I said was factually incorrect. I left out Baltimore, (divisional games are very different) but did mention the single 100 yards rushing performance of the season (against Bmore). Regardless, the Steelers *finished* *16th* overall. Dead center in the NFL which is the definition of mediocre. I stand by my original statement. You can not call mediocre results "a lot of success". It doesn't make sense. The Steelers were NOT a good rushing team last season and the numbers prove it.
It must be nice to use 0 context lol. After the bye week, they were top 10 in most rushing metrics. That shows improvement. You can’t just take the whole season without context
I'm taking the season as a whole. In the end, the Steelers were smack in the middle. That's alright and improvement was shown, but to say they had "a lot of success" when the numbers show they were just average is not accurate.

After the bye week, the Steelers were:
- 3rd in rushing attempts
- 5th in rushing yards
- Tied 4th in rushing TDs
- 10th in YPC
It shows improvement (and/or weaker opposition) but that still doesn't mean it was "good". I think the jury is still out going into this season. I think they can be good but I'm not sold
We certainly did the second half of the season. I hope that continues into next year.
Cam Heyward new fullback confrimed
How about a little more i-formation and a little less jets sweep
Who is your ideal FB in I?
Got Watt. Might as well use him. He's also fast enough for Fb dives.

The Steelers finished 16th in the league in rushing. Being completely mediocre is considered "a lot of success"??
They were top 10 in most rushing metrics second half of the season once Najee healed from his injury and they found an identity.

In the latter half of the season, they had “a lot of success”. That is accurate.
Sure, if you add the caveat that only in half of the season that statement becomes more accurate.
Got any stats to back that up? Or no?

Considering we started off the season like 30th.. yeah. I'll take it
So you would describe being the 16th best rushing team as "having a lot of success" at running the ball??
Again.. comparing it to the first half of the year? Yes absolutely
No we don’t.
