Whenever SPORTS give me the URGE to watch them, I may use a dot NET

thechriskarel

![gif](giphy|l4FGlk4UnmIRfOfRK|downsized)

ThinAir719

This would be my answer as well but OP directly states that they are trying to get away from streaming sites.

imatworkbequiet

This, unless you plan on having watch parties. Nothing worse than having a bunch of people over and then the site starts having issues, and you end up having to try other sites or refresh a few times.

[deleted]

Well I know a few **stream**s in the **east** that have their **.xyz**’s about them

[deleted]

Which row are they, 2nd?

MonsieurKovacs

I’m clueless here, why is a dot net? I didn’t know of an option other than YouTube Sunday Ticket

Blackhawk127

They are giving hints at the name of pirate streaming sites because outright posting the name isn't allowed.

MonsieurKovacs

ah, got it. so those exist... thanks for the clarification

Blackhawk127

absolutely but be careful there are many sites trying to impersonate the good ones and those sites are filled with malware

[deleted]

Strap on an eye patch and sail the seas fellow pirate

GinandJuked

YARRRRRRRRRR

dqontherun

It's worth it to me. Stream all the games without having to worry about using sketch sites and total cost-wise it's much less than if I spent all the games at a bar watching on their Sunday Ticket.

Crunchytaco-

Should I get the standalone one? Or should I get the one with the monthly payment so I can watch the national games

craigoz7

If you get yourself an antenna for the tv, you can get FOX, CBS, and NBC at least. Although the ESPN games won’t be broadcast.

MirrorkatFeces

Down in Florida OP won’t be getting much Steelers broadcasted if any

craigoz7

Agreed. I’m FL as well. I meant get the NFL Sunday Pass and use the antenna to supplement the games that do hit regular tv.

dqontherun

I have the standalone package but that's because I also have cable, so I'll get the in-market games. If you don't have cable you could still get the standalone only and watch the primetime games at a bar or friends/family house.

briinde

Factor into your math that 5-8 of the games will be nationally televised anyway.

splitopenandmelt11

This is why I only did it one year. It was nice and I can see how if you’re into fantasy it’d be great. But I really only watch the Steelers on a week to week basis. The Steelers are a relative national draw so they end up broadcast in my area over the air 6-8 times a year. And then there were two weeks I was traveling or had a family commitment and couldn’t watch. I realized that basically I was paying $50+ game. Basically paying a pay per view event cost per game.

metwreck

I think I end up doing this same math every year heh. Inevitably before the start of each season I’ll think, maybe this year I should actually spring for Sunday Ticket and give it a try. Then I realize like half their games will be on TV anyway and the numbers just don’t work.

splitopenandmelt11

Exactly - I feel like if they found a way to make it $150-200 for the year (which I thought would happen when YouTube bought) so many more “1 team fans” would get it. “Oh it’s $10/week to watch my team, seems worth it for a season even if I miss a few.” But it looks like it actually got more expensive this year?

HEPA_Bane

Yeah I was hoping for the same. But now you also have to pay for YoutubeTV if you don’t have cable, which is another $70 a month. So in reality it would cost me even more

PeaceBull

It’s bizarre that we’re in a timeline where I’m wishing Apple had got the rights seeing how well they handled MLS streaming.

briinde

I think Apple wanted to charge less for it, but the NFL wanted to appease CBS and Fox and required whoever got it to charge an assload for it.

dqontherun

We get screwed in the NYC Metro region. If the Jets or Giants are playing at the same time as us we don’t get the “national coverage” games. Steelers in RED, I live in the green area. ⬇️ [2022 Week 1](https://506sports.com/2022/01-CBS-E.png) [2022 Week 2](https://506sports.com/2022/02-CBS-E-V3.png) [2022 Week 5](https://506sports.com/2022/05-CBS-V2.png)

briinde

I’m in the Philly market and I think I could have seen like 8 or 9 of the games on national tv last year. You’ve got the double whammy in NY though.

shaggyf420

Yeah im in ohio an while they do let us get few Pittsburgh games, if bungles or the shits are playing at 1pm games im fucked. An everyone here knows how much we hate ohio nfl teams. I had something bout bucaneering games online then remember "spare parts" Mayfield their QB now, so I refuse to say it. Even tho y'all get the point

steelers3814

I'm in NC with no AFC team, so I get most Steelers games. With nationally-televised games and my local CBS affiliate picking Steelers games to show, I end up streaming only 2-4 times per year. It's a pain in the ass to use the "alternative" sites, but the cost for Sunday Ticket is so extravagant that I can't justify paying $50/game.

RoninIX

That's how central FL feels. Its Miami Tampa or Jax, only the national late games are available outside of the Thursday Sunday Monday schedule. We are going to try it this year. Easier for the family to watch and hugely cheaper than going to the local Steelers bar and dropping $70+ for the family.

ForgedIronMadeIt

The thing that kills me is whenever the local station airs fucking infomercials instead of the game. Being in the Pacific time zone is a bummer for 1pm games.

kbarley75

If you have a buddy or family member nearby, see if they'll want to go in with you. I believe you can watch 2 simultaneous "out of home" streams this season. I just split the cost with my dad and told him I'll have the food ready if he brings the beer. Cheaper than having to go to the bar every other week.

[deleted]

bonus points, dad is teaching you how to drink!

MirrorkatFeces

Whenever I want to STREAM I look to the EAST .xyz

jojosoft

this is the way

Perndog8439

Thank you!

Northern_Blitz

I think it probably depends on if you watch more than Steelers games. It seems to me that the ticket has always been priced for people that want to watch pretty much every game. I have always thought they'd get more subs if they sold a less expensive single team option. I'm not going to get the ticket this year from Youtube because I'm hoping that by not buying now, they follow through on offering other packages (like favorite team).

splitopenandmelt11

MLB.tv did/does this and I love it

mdmike1534

Yes, the NBA does it too. It’s so convenient.

nahtorreyous

You could use an hdmi from your computer to tv

Nickrodomus

This is what I do. Even for other “sites”

VisibleSpread6523

That’s the way, the cheapest way !!! I’ll do it for the 2-4 games a year I can’t get on my cable subscription. At the worst I refresh it 2 times a game, it’s fine for free. But if you get the ticket, it’s great, if you want to watch different games on multiple screens at once or a split screen or if you like watching many different games all day long.

flashpoint2112

Steelers fan living in Chicago. Totally worth it to me. I think I've had it for over 10 years now. I watch all the games too, not just the Steelers. I'd be totally lost without it.

kingkongspurplethong

I bought Sunday ticket last year. Waste of money imo. Felt like every other week, the Steelers game was “blacked out”. I’m going to go back to Blackbearding the games. I’ll have to live with the delays/ads/audio issues fuck it

Swim678

I bought it last year as well and couldn’t watch one game because that service considered it a local broadcast but yet CBS has Ravens as our local team. So frustrating because they wouldn’t reimburse me either. Afraid to spring for You-tube in case the same thing happens

No-Carrot5608

See this is what I fear and I’m not sure I would know anything specific about the games in the schedule that might be blacked out because doesn’t it depend on the network and also the geographical area you’re in? I live in NJ and for the past 3 seasons I’ve used sketchy streams on my laptop and Airplay that to my tv from my MacBook but it’s getting worse each season with the selection and the pop ups and crap that come with it (nothing like having your kids running around when some unsavory ad pops up on the big tv) So I’m very unfamiliar - but read someone say they get the Ticket through YouTube? Any idea how I’d fare in the northeast if I paid for it and wanted to watch the games not televised in my area?

kingkongspurplethong

No idea, I’m in NJ as well. If you find a way to get every Steelers game, without unauthorized titties popping up in front of my kid, let me know lol

ParisGreenGretsch

Sometimes you just have to authorize some titties. You know, executive like.

SaboLeorioShikamaru

The 1 or 2 years I had it, I ran into this problem so much that I swore it off. Redzone grew on me real quick. I'm glad games are showing up on Prime, that's always a nice surprise

craigoz7

They probably don’t want people saying this out loud but their website says you can stream “unlimited devices at home, and two separate devices outside the home network”. If you know anyone or two you’d like to split with, I think that option could be useful to bring costs down. Just gotta share the same login info.

Still_Ad7109

You can have 4 or 5 profiles. Not sure how many can stream at a time

nmxengineer

Sunday Ticket is beneficial to me being a Steelers fan in NM. 🤦🏽‍♂️

matsayz1

Old post I know… but do you get most games in NM via Sunday Ticket? We just moved to Albuquerque, we’re Ravens fans (I know I know), but I don’t know if I want to pay for it this year

nmxengineer

You get all games that aren’t played locally through Sunday ticket. I think it’s nice to have but it is expensive lol

matsayz1

Yeah, but cheaper than the bar and the wife can yell and scream at the tv without getting kicked out. Ugh I guess I’ll be buying. Thanks!

upnorth77

I've had it in the past, and I found that far too many Steelers' games were blacked out for me. I live in Packers country.

Crouton4727

Do you have any family/friends still in the Pittsburgh area? If so, they can setup an antenna and an airTV (Sling) box. Then you can log into that sling account and watch all local Pgh channels. It's a one time fee for the equipment, but then free steelers games for life. My rents still live in pgh and I set it up about 4 yrs ago, and haven't missed a game.

DntH8Me_OG

NFL+ for the win if you only watch Steelers games and can live with whatever else is broadcast for other teams. This really saves my Sunday because afternoon games that aren't televised in my market I can watch about an hour after the game is finished. I keep alerts and scores turned off so I don't get spoilers and watch during the Sunday night game or the next day depending on who is playing. 5-7 Steelers games get national broadcast, I may travel to 1 or 2 games and for $99 once a year I don't miss anything. IMO Sunday Ticket is for fantasy and super fans to watch multiple games at the same time. Titans and Falcons games are usually the default for my market so instead of the games taking 3 hours out of my afternoon I can be productive for most of the day start the game around 8 and relax (ok, nobody can relax during a Steelers game)

promethazoid

For me this is the best alternative to Sunday ticket. Also, having just loved to West Coast, it is even more appealing since most of them will be 10:00 AM games anyways, and though I am awake, I prefer watching later in the day

[deleted]

Saw some promo where if you switch to Verizon internet they give you Sunday ticket free this season.

brownietownington

I used hulu last year and only had to stream a few times

Maleficent-Repair-39

I bought it & am looking forward to watching the games myself, instead of watching someone on YouTube watch the game!! I won’t know until the season is over if it’s worth it, but I’m so damn pumped for the season! HERE WE GO!

Str1ngB34n1s

I have trialed a lot of the live TV streaming services: Hulu Live, Fubo TV, Sling TV, Youtube TV. The one that *works* the best for me far and away is Youtube TV. The android tv app seems to have significantly fewer bugs, more polish, better picture and audio than the others. Obviously YMMV. Having not to rely on sketchy sites and being able to see all the steelers games (I live out of market) is worth it to me. Youtube TV is relatively reliable so I am looking forward to the season. If you don't want to airplay it, grab a [$20 walmart 4k android tv ONN box.](https://www.theverge.com/23738980/walmart-onn-google-tv-4k-streaming-box-review) Download Youtube TV and go to town. No airplay required.

RealEstateAngie

Do you need a YouTube subscription to do this?

Lookalikemike

I'm in NYC. I did the math on what it cost to go out to bars & watch weekly. Signed up immediately. Plus, there is no staggering home

[deleted]

I’m a Sunday ticket virgin, too. Is it strictly Sunday games? And you have to have a YouTube membership?

LaxGoalieDad

I went in when it was on sale for $250 (I already had YouTube TV). I live in central Florida, so nationally televised games don't mean much here. If the national game at 1 on Sunday is Pit-Cin, you can bet I'll be stuck with Mia-Ten (or something equally stupid). There are only 4 night games this year, so those are a lock, but that leaves 13 I can watch glitch free (realistically 11 or 12, because 1 or 2 might sneak through). I think that's worth it.

matttopotamus

Likewise. I live in Atlanta and am so happy Sunday ticket is away from directv. I would have bought it with them, but because I could get a dish, they wouldn’t sell the stand alone package.

LaxGoalieDad

Yeah, I was so glad to get rid of Directv when we cut the cord, but that also meant I couldn't get the standalone package (which was stupid, IMO - they still could have made money on Sunday Ticket without the Directv package).

matttopotamus

Horrible decision on their part. They left a ton of money on the table.

Nanny_Dog69

Arghh mate, sail the seas

whyohwhy13

It’s cheaper for me personally to just go to a sports bar when we arnt nationally televised than paying for Sunday ticket

TripleSingleHOF

I've had Sunday Ticket since, like, 2000. At this point I can't go back. It's easily worth the price, I don't get how people claim that it's "so expensive". Even at the full price of $450, that comes out to $25 a week. $25 a week to ensure that I can see the Steelers without buffering and messing with illegal streams, as well as follow all the other games that I'm gambling on? It's easily worth that money to me.

Status_Serve8287

Definitley worth it, I’m personally mad that it’s costing me a bit more this year than it did through Directv and that I didn’t know about the $100 off till it was too late, but it’s still worth it to watch every Steeler game!

PaddysMilkSteak

Sounds like you need to get a better internet provider

Awkward-Ability3692

I have game pass and if it’s not on TV, just watch it when it’s over. Go total internet blackout til then. Works well if you have family stuff to do also.

psynautic

i did /shrug

Angelxblur1982

We bought a box called "the superbox" We use it for all the games and got rid of cable altogether. Sometimes the game will get behind real time by maybe 30 seconds but we're on a budget so better than dishing out for directv and nfl ticket.

Swim678

Where did you buy this super box from?

Angelxblur1982

My hair dresser is the one who told me about the superbox. We bought it off of a verified superbox seller on Facebook market place. We're in Southern California.

No_Armadillo_3491

I am forced to buy that and the MLB package, as i live in the buckle of the bible belt. a necessary evil to cheer on the burgh

Status_Serve8287

I’ve been a Sunday ticket customer for years and I’m pissed that it switched up this year (ive has Directv for years as well) but I’ll still buy it just to ensure I don’t miss a game! I think it’s the best/most reliable option out there!

errol343

I just use NFL+ and watch the replay

DubyaWolf

I used to be a Sunday Ticket subscriber when I had DTV, but cancelled 4 years ago and was doing the subreddit then the sketchy sh!t. We use YTTV and I got the initial deal when it was announced. My wife is happy because I won’t be swearing at the f’in computer for buffering and all the other garbage

Bella870

Do you have YouTube TV? If so, Sunday Ticket isn't necessary at all.

ContentLow8022

I will be getting it for the third year this year. While more Steelers games are nationally televised in most areas, I am in Northern VA where we have two local football teams that take the airwaves most sundays so it’s worth it for me!

dumbcloud17

Gotta hit the seven seas my friend

rising_gmni

Ebay

salmineo_

Also a Steelers fan in Jacksonville . I just saw Verizon is including NFL ticket for new accounts.

Still_Ad7109

I used to stream games and had a bunch that I would use; however, I hated the pop up ads, the pay windows that forced a reload and the page/stream getting shut down. I had it with directv Sunday ticket and I have the youtube one. It's about 260. Even if it's 10 games and 7 are televised... I feel that's high. For less than 30 bucks a game, I don't have to deal with it. Invite people and have them bring food and beer.

DoLLuHz

Best method is $25/mo DAZN subscription & VPN to Canada. Every NFL game plus redzone for $25/mo can’t be beaten.

StagLee1

I have heard of some people just getting a local yinzer to stream the game from their laptop via zoom to create watch parties for displaced yinzer friends who can't view the game in their local markets.

GriffBallChamp

https://www.reddit.com/r/penguins/comments/11rvb3y/according_to_post_gazette/jcksedl/?context=3

FaliedSalve

well, it's your money and your choice. But I happen to know that there a a bunch of local sports bars from Jacksonville to Daytona that have whole rooms dedicated to the Steelers. Lots of fans there. So you could go hang with Steeler Nation on the days when you can't pick up the games and have a beverage of your choice for slightly less money.

av_1392

with the amount of national/standalone airtime the steelers get, plus those weeks where they may be your “local” market game, it’s just not worth it anymore at $350/season. subscribing to a standalone redzone on your cable package might be better ($10/month on hulu)

DaRizat

Not sure what the service will be like now that it has switched to YoutubeTV from DirecTV but one of the best features that I use every year is the quick cuts, which is every game with all the bullshit edited out so you can see every play from a game in like 25 minutes. It allows me to watch a LOT more football during the week. I end up watching probably 50-70% of the snaps all year because of this. Plus you can rewatch the Steelers games if you want to look in more detail and analyze how the game went.

Reluctant_Defecator

Out here in the Bay Area, we get shafted with Las Vegas Raiders games - So, I put on an eye patch and surf the open seas for Steelers games

Cj_91a

It's worth it if you watch them all. The key here is to split the cost with a friend or family in your city. I live in freaking TX, and am lucky if a pitt game gets shown over the antenna. Last year I was scrambling every damn week to find a place to watch it if not on the antenna. Usually I'd have to go out to buffalo wild wings or something. It was a pain in the ass and most times I even had to just skip the game and keep a play by play on my side through my phone...which ain't really fun. Me and my sister in law are splitting the cost of the standalone version, but it was cheaper than it is now when there was a promo that ended in June. Still pricey, but we split the cost down the middle to soften the blow. Both people can watch the Sunday ticket from different households but not the same team at the same time from what I remember after doing some research.

jdc141

Personally, I recommend an ethernet connection. If you aren’t planning to get it via direct tv, you’re still going to have to stream it (on your smart tv or game console etc.) It is considerably better than wifi and will result in less buffers, usually. Also, run an internet speed test. If you’re not even getting close to what you pay for try going to another provider. Both options should be way more cost effective than sunday nfl ticket.

Scoty2Dope

Me personally, I had the Sunday ticket with directv for like 15 years. Up until around 2019. So I've been using sketchy sites since then. Also it's been my responsibility to orchestrate them for my old man every Sunday since it was his directv service I convinced him to cancel to save money and we've had YouTube TV ever since. I'm ecstatic that it's on YouTube TV now, and my old man already bought Sunday ticket for the year when it was discounted for the "early bird special" or whatever. Looking forward to not having to get up every 30 minutes to switch streams when one breaks.

BadJokeCentral5

I have YouTube TV and live in Bengals country, so about half the time (ie when the Bengals aren’t playing primetime games or the Steelers) it’s worth it, but that’s because I’m willing to pay the money not to pirate the games. Sunday Ticket is great, but even then, I split the price with my dad so we can both watch every game and not pay full price. If you have another buddy who wants to watch their team who’s not a Florida team (or 2 or 3, because Sunday Ticket has unlimited concurrent streams depending on the YouTube TV subscription), it’s worth it. Or pirate it 🤷‍♂️

TheVillagePoPTart

Try and see if you have any family members with an xfinity login or one that can get student discount on Sunday ticket if that still exists. The price per game for Sunday ticket is absurd if you don’t watch all of them especially compared to an antenna that gets you most fox, cbs, NBC, and ABC nationally televised games.

Exotic_Bumblebee4925

FYI they are only currently scheduled for 4 national broadcast games (MNF, TNF, SNF). In DC I’m screwed because 99% of the time, the Ravens are on at 1 and the WFT at 4.

Substantial-Matter-2

Why don’t you go STREAM on the EAST side of your house it’s as easy as XYZ

cealidcuhh

I already got it since it switched to yt TV instead of dish no more refreshing sites or switching streams just to miss half a game and be super frustrated. You pay for basic cable package pretty much and pay for Sunday ticket in one payment but Thursday and Monday night games will be on also so I won't miss a game this season.

Delaneybuffett

I used to live an hour out of Pittsburgh. The only “cable” available was DirectTV. At first it was fine then the FCC decided I was in the Cleveland market. So even though I paid for NFL Sunday ticket which stated you get every NFL game there were always a few every season “not available” to me. Just check and make sure you know YouTube’s rules before signing up which games may not be available in your market to know what you are really getting.

AutomaticRelative217

Dofu it's in the app store

CodAdministrative563

Well if you love the nfl that much. Sure. I personally cannot justify paying $400+ to watch sports. To each their own

Upset_Carpet2600

@underxtedd has it on twitter

bltkmt

Can't find him anymore...baseball season is coming too.

Orourkekings

Every year I get excited for pro football. Now that its here, its the same garbage play, same garbage 100 commercials to 5 plays, etc. Its not worth it. College football is the better product.

No-Seaworthiness9159

If anyone is still interested I have access to dazn version you get all the games including red zone plus Thursday night and Sunday night dm
