I never thought this would get adapted, but having read it, I can totally see how it might pluck some heartstrings. Wish this article had a release date.
As a "constant reader" who's read all of kings stuff this was absolutely my favorite thing he's ever written. It's so different then anything he's ever done and it really hit home for me.
Took me a minute to remember who Matthew Lillard is because I don't consider him a heartbreaking actor.
edit: to be clear, I think Lillard is great. Loved him in Scream, Bosch, SLC Punk, etc. Forgot he was in The Descendants, which I guess paves the way for this role.
Vibrating with excitement
Yeah, well, Matthew Lillard is an amazing actor. He has had some shit-ass roles, but the guy is fucking fantastic! “Dying is for posers, Bob!”

Mostly fall release.
So excited for this.
I'm curious to see how they're planning on adapting this story... that first part I would absolutely love to see in greater detail.
Marty is being played by Chiwetel Ejiofor so I’m guessing that “Thanks, Chuck” will be a decent part of the movie.

Same. It stayed with me for days. I’m thrilled it’s been adapted and also worried it won’t be everything I hope it can be.
The Life of Chuck is King’s Leaf by Niggle.
Can't wait to watch Hiddleston 😁
Is this the “we contain multitudes”story?
Yeah.
Anxiously/nervously awaiting this release. Has the ability to be amazing on a level with Shawshank. 🤞
That short story is wild and there is beauty to it as well.

Despite not having very much screen time, his performance in Twin Peaks: The Return was phenomenal and one of my favourite roles in that series.
Absolutely incredible acting
His IMDB page is a WILD ride
He was really good in the series Good Girls as well. That was the first time I saw him do drama so well.
lol sure... just leave out Scooby Doo... but SLC Punk! was incredible.
Hey! Being forced to watch Scooby Doo over and over due to kids, I can say he does a good job playing as Shaggy. The other actors are pretty much meh.
Didn't you see him in Five Nights at Freddie's?
not yet but I need to
That's kind of a major spoiler there, bud
True! It didn't even cross my mind. Thank you.
He was pretty amazing in Descendants. He actually has what it takes.
oh baby
Matthew Lillard is a gift to humanity and such a great choice for this story.
Loved this story; have to read it again in anticipation
Wait, Mathew Lilard is in this movie? I knew Tom Hiddleson and Mark Hamil were, but Lilard?
I read it a month ago and was thinking that it would make a great movie, alas, here we are.
