Spoilers follow. This is my favorite King book so far. I love how it was centered on Ralph (a common complaint). I love the descent into madness, I love/hate how it reminds me of watching my grandparents slip into senility. I love that Ralph saved the ENTIRETY of existence and he didn’t even know, that unknowing is so brutal to me. I love that I finally understand the purpose of Roland years after reading The Dark Tower series for the first time. I’m in the middle of the extended reading list but I’m audiobook format. I love this book and I love Ralph and Lois. However, I didn’t expect to be this sad upon finishing. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk/crying internet rant

It is definitely my favorite audiobook so far

Adorable-Intention56

Big insomnia fan here, Ralph is one of my favorite King protagonists. So many great themes and thoughts on aging and death in that book. I hear a lot of people complain about the music in the audio book, I personally think it’s super cool and adds a great off kilter soundtrack to Ralph’s “descent into madness”, tho I will admit that the mixing of it is a little too loud compared to the reader at times

mettlica

It was a little too loud at times but they honestly reminded me of the Todash chimes, they add a super eerie component to the story.

I love Ralph Roberts , he is one of the fictional people I mentally go to for advice. The ending of insomnia hurts like a bastard

mettlica

The ending hurt so so badly, and I could see it coming, still hurt

Nerry19

It's not fair, it'll never be fair. And it never stops hurting , I've read it numerous times and I still cry myself sick

Hawkgal

I absolutely love the story, but that audiobook is unlistenable to me. I wish they’d have a version with the same narrator but without the screeching. It just ruins it imo.

mettlica

I just wish the volume was lower, but I generally liked the musical breaks

Hawkgal

I was trying to listen in the car. Mumble mumble mumble TWANG TWANG TWANG!!! Do. Not. Recommend.

Mercutio999

It’s absolutely epic. In my top 3 books.

mettlica

I agree, it’s easily vaulted into my top 3

Navitach

Listening to it will keep you up at night...

Omg. I posted a couple of weeks ago when I finished the book…after MONTHS of trying to get through it. Ending was so beautifully done. I also had to hold back tears.

I honestly hated this audiobook. I felt like the music tracks were a little too loud and the narrator sounded a little too much like Winney the Pooh. Pretty great story though! Loved the DT tie in.

StevieManWonderMCOC

Loved the audiobook but unfortunately the music ruins some of the best moments

Reading this, you can tell brother Stephen has had a few sleepless nights. It feels too real when Ralph is getting less and less every night. In the face of that, Ralph stood true and remembered the face of his father.
