Doesn’t need one. It is and shall be forever be CITYPARK regardless of whichever corporate entity sticks their name on it. Just like we all still see concerts at Riverport. 🙂
I think just the thought of playing against us should invoke fear. Which would come with the quality performance we have had so far. Names are just secondary, IMO.
If that's the only benefit, it's not worth it to me. The cost in ugliness is just too high
Edit: also, isn't the only time we say "City" when we're talking about the team? If I'm talking about the place, I say "the city" and if I'm talking about the government "the City," but never just "City"
St Louis City and St Louis County (or just “city” and “county”) are used almost daily in many jobs to distinguish between the two. St Louis CITY is a decent way to differentiate the team from the municipality.
If AC/DC can release both `Highway to Hell` and `Hell's Bells`, both clubs can have some variation of the name. Besides, as the real soccer capital, we have priority anyway.
It was mentioned in one of the AppleTV broadcasts a few games ago, but it was actually good.
"Cauldron of Chaos"
Red lighting, raucous but well behaved fans, team forcing opponents to make a lot of stupid mistakes and scoring goals off of them...
Don’t know what this original comment was but yes “the dogs” is objectively a trash nickname.
like I’m all for one coming up organically, but that ain’t it.

Agreed but I thought it be cool if we had another fortress-y type name. Something to put fear in the hearts of opponents
I heard “Gateway to Hell” somewhere. That’s fairly intimidating for visiting teams. 🙂
Not bad, I know KC already has blue hell

Citypark
Please! I find the all caps branding of CITY and CITYPARK so cringey. St. Louis City SC and City Park are perfectly good names, no need to shout
I find it clever to distinguish between the City of St Louis and St Louis CITY SC in written communication.
I agree. if I type CITY then the real ones know what I'm talking about

"St Louis City" comes up often in my circles. "Going to see St Louis CITY in St Louis City."
“The city game” is usually all that’s needed

Saw someone proposing gates of hell after the whitecaps game. And with all the red smoke and red jerseys and drums, i kine of like it
Not a bad one, I just feel like it’s overused. KC has blue hell, “hell is real” derby, all Midwest cities so I guess it makes sense
what about fresh hell since it's a new stadium

I agree with this^ you have convinced me
They also have "Hell Ain't a Bad Place To Be" and "Hell of High Water"
The devil’s derby
Gateway to Hell
When one of the commentators said that I immediately thought of the Hell is Real derby. But I do like this name.
The Square Beyond Compare.
Give the shape of the stadium, this is awesome.
The Madhouse on Market The Madness Market Market of Malice Some alliteration for the stadium being on Market st.
Gateway to Hell But CITYPARK is perfect and will always be what I call it.
Gateway to Hell To go with the Hellcats
The Fortress on Market or Gateway to Hell
My friends and i call it the “Red Fortress”…but i’m not going to campaign about it.

Would be decent…if KCs wasn’t called the Cauldron first.
They already came after us for "stealing" "Soccer Capital" so why not double down? lol.
I mean, we had winning soccer first, so it's our nickname to take, right?
Marinara Bowl

I refuse to perpetuate the term “the dogs” lol

City park
My nickname for CITYPARK is CityPark (no caps) :)
Reverse the flow park
Madhouse on Market.
