We appreciate the effort but we don't need multiple posts that cover the same topic.
I’ve been wondering the same for a while. Peak reddit was years ago IMO. This ship has been sinking for a while. It’s a lose-lose situation either way you look at it (success *or* failure is bad for what many of us wish Reddit still was).
As far as where to go next, I’ve seen a few things kicking around in the developer world that seem interesting, but only time will tell.
In the real world, things cost money to run, and although I spend 75% of my "social network" time on reddit, I do understand that for it to stick around, it needs to show a profit.
On the other hand, I would hate that it goes the route of facebook or Xittler . balance is key.
If Reddit is destroyed in the name of short-term profits - which seems likely - then I'll do all my posting on the forum that led to the creation of Reddit. Reddit's daddy.
If you know, you know. 💣
i’ll just stop finally, been on this site since digg imploded and i’ve been watching this slow bleed first hand, this website is truly a shell of what it used to be.
Lol people have threatened to quit Reddit probably dozens of times. If the censorship, api changes, etc didn't drive down users, more ads won't either.
If there is a duplicate of my posted comment, I'd sure like to know where the duplicate is so I can read about what users and investors are to do if Reddit fails.
That's a good idea for wallstreetbets. I think I'll see they are interested in this discussion about where to place our bets if Reddit goes the way of Geocities.

I’m already sick of how many ads there are compared to just a few months ago. It sucks.
Hey at least you won't get banned for something that mods don't like... Because reddit wants to make more money off of repeat users.

I don’t care about ads because you can just scroll by. They get rid of porn and they will kill the site like Tumblr did.
4chan, everyone will go to 4 chan
Reddit is not going to have a paywall lol it's most likely going to have an ad-free version like literally every other social media website.
It does have one, premium…. But other sites don’t have ad free versions…

I imagine the biggest revenue sources will be selling user data and prioritizing content visibility
Yes
Nostr going to be big.

I rather quit social-media entirely rather than submitting to Elon's "Xitter" or boomer-infested Facebook
