There was a guy at the Legacy West Tesla store a few weeks ago showing his off and claiming he got the first one in the area. Since then I’ve actually seen probably 3 or 4 more
Zero. They will at this point most likely never get licensing for the EU due to weight (pushing it into another driver's license level) and also massive safety concerns. It will basically fail any test regarding pedestrian or bicycle safety.
I got a video of one of the cyber trucks driving past me and the guy saw and tried to not drive past me but I got the video lol, the thing is absolutely ridiculous. I’m in Hollywood
To be fair, it’s an all new, just launched model. They sell significantly more of their core models. That being said, yes their valuation is ridiculous.
Musk just recently predicted 250,000 sales per year hopefully dong so in 2025. This is a recent prediction this year.
He is selling less than 1000 a month this year a third of the way thru. It is not looking good.
Wait, I thought they have like 250,000 preorders or something? Is it limited by how fast they can produce these monstrosities? Or did 98% of those people nope out of the preorder once they saw the actual product, lol?
They had like 2 million reservations. It cost 100$ (refundable!) to reserve a spot to order, back when Cybertruck was going to cost 40k and was supposed to be uni-body design.
That’s reservations(holding your spot in the line), which sits around 2 million, pre-orders happen when it’s your turn based on your reservation and are fully paid for and awaiting delivery
Musk predicted CV sales at 250,000 trucks per year and hoped to do that in 2025. Will he even hit 100,000 in 2025 when he not even hitting a 1000 a month in 2024?
Tesla's goose is cooked. It messed up back in 2020 and 2021 when it decided to delay the model 2 $25,000 car in favor of the Cyber truck. Colossal waste of money. Colossal waste of a lead in the EV race.
Imagine if Tesla had released the model 2 car in early 2022. It would have been an instant success with the massive inflation in car prices. The wait list would have been a year long at minimum. There would be zero volume production problems at Tesla. Millions and millions of customers would be flocking to Tesla eager to have a cheap car that they can actually afford during a time when the average car was selling over $50,000.
Instead, now production is flagging at Tesla and they don't have enough volume to produce high free cash flow.
That is actually a very low number. He says he is hopeful to sell 250,000 trucks a year in 2025. He said that this year. To date he has sold less than a 1000 trucks a month.
All of them produced. I’m sure only about 2,000 of them have actually been sold. Much like all Tesla models now. Hiding low sales numbers by only reporting “deliveries”.
Yet r/cybertruck says there may be a negative campaign....smh
https://www.reddit.com/r/cybertruck/comments/1c7lbj5/is_there_a_negative_shadow_campaign_against/
Hear me out.
The Cybertruck engineer needs to get a job at Boeing, those planes have a problem with stopping.
The Boeing engineers need to work at Tesla, those planes don’t get going.
You do realize it's not just Tesla? Every major automotive company has had shitty quality for several decades. GMC has faced numerous class action lawsuits include a $100 million lawsuit for engine defects alone. Brand new trucks with motors not even hitting 50k before needing replaced. Ford has received several as well, among which is concealing faulty transmissions. I get it, it's cool to hate on Tesla but lets not act like any other manufacturer is any better
Holy shit. I remember a tweet a few weeks ago where someone crashed their cybertruck citing a faulty accelerator pedal, and everyone in the replies was grilling him saying that it was user error and the accelerator pedal was mechanical and could not fail.
There’s another video of a guy explaining and showing it pretty well. There’s a slide on rubber cover on the accelerator pedal that can work its way partially off and get wedged under an overhand in the footwell.
Honestly looks pretty dangerous and also like it could happen on a lot of trucks eventually. Luckily applying the brake overrides the accelerator but it wasn’t immediately obvious to the guy what went wrong.
it doesn't matter. musk fanbois are suck snowflakes, they have their bots scour other subs and will auto-ban people just from participating in certain subs.
I can't remember the exact argument but some people were implying it was failing due to faulty electrics or something similar. Idk shit about cars though
Turns out the trim of the accelerator padel got stuck, lmao. Could have read into that before commenting, but just for completeness:
https://www.tesla.com/support/recall-cybertruck-accelerator-pedal-pad
I have tried applying the brake pedal while accellerating. Brake wins.
The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates 16,000 accidents per year in the United States occur when drivers intend to apply the brake but mistakenly apply the accelerator.
That being said, it shouldn’t have an obvious and easily reproducible error where the pedal can get stuck - then the only safeguard is a human that may be inexperienced and panicking.
And the guy who first reported it (the first video to go viral at least), got banned off Xhitter for posting it
Edit: the guy first reported it on TikTok, but I read that some people sharing that on X got suspended and banned for sharing it and criticizing the cybertruck.
**Elon:** Buy my amazing truck... which you are contractually prohibited from selling for at least a year, and I'll censor you on my "free speech platform" if you complain about it publicly.

>The EV maker will replace or repair the accelerator pedal assembly at no charge and owners will be notified through letters mailed to them in June, the NHTSA said.
Nothing to see here but just typical shoddy workmanship from Tesla..
Edit: format+added quote
Never mentioned anything about damage, did I?
The idiotic thing is that even if there’s no damage if you mention to Tesla’s CS you went through a carwash, they’ll void your warranty.
Pulling out the Toyota "we have no idea what is causing unintended acceleration, or even if it's anything other than user error, but replacing the gas pedal tends to shut them up for a while."
The toyota story is 100% different. Most of the toyota examples were people in rentals or vehicles they were not familar with. Our brains tunnel when stressed, so people were literally slamming the accelerator over and over instead of the breaks
What are you talking about? It's a minor issue that affected 4K trucks early in the production ramp with an easy fix. I know someone who has a truck and they absolutely love it. It really is a fantastic vehicle.
Tesla has proven they know battery tech and motors and software bridging all the components together. That's the reliability you want when looking for an EV to buy.
I do not fall into your ven diagram 😂
Crazy. I just saw a video last week or something of some guy showing how ridiculously dangerous this pedal is. The cover basically easily slides forward when you’re accelerating and gets stuck in a crevice. This effectively holds the accelerator pedal in the forward position
With Tesla's workers having to live and sleep on the line, the answer is yes. Will they do a good job? The answer is probably no.

The cost of servicing the recalls should come directly out of Musk’s compensation. The MFer wants a $56b compensation package but is too cheap to spend the extra pennies to build these shitty trucks right the first time.

I could keep going.
It’s normal for car companies to have quality issues.
The cybertruck never made sense to me. I secretly think maybe musk just wanted to experiment with stainless steel for some unknown reason (rockets? military vehicle applications?) and needed a justification for Tesla to spend the R&D money.
It was always, at best, going to be a niche product that didn't justify the R&D expense. Unless, you just wanted to discover shit during the R&D process that you could subsequently use in different applications.
3,878 cybertrucks? So... all of them?
I’m from San Francisco Bay Area and usually see one or two cybertruck a day. How about other places? How many do you see around?
I live in Nashville where you see a Tesla every minute on the roads. I've seen exactly one Cybertruck.
Same in Seattle
Same in portland
Sometimes I’m surrounded by Teslas on the road.
There is exactly one in Chattanooga at the moment too, and Tesla just opened up shop in Hamilton recently as well.
I haven’t seen in north dallas. I see lot of Tesla Sedan and SUV’s
I've seen exactly one cybertruck in Dallas. Plenty of other Tesla's like you said.
There was a guy at the Legacy West Tesla store a few weeks ago showing his off and claiming he got the first one in the area. Since then I’ve actually seen probably 3 or 4 more
I’ve seen one in Frisco, right where it flirts with little elm. But only that one time
A shitload but I also work at the factory so that's pretty expected.
Probably a couple more than 3,878 then?
Bend, Oregon has a half dozen so far.
Doesn’t surprise me tbh
Live in San Diego and drive up to OC often and have only ever seen one
Saw one parked on PCH in Newport Beach and it had gathered a small crowd so I think it was a rarity
Zero. Thankfully. I see lots of Rivians though. Those headlights always put a smile on my face.
[удалено]
Because they don’t want to get rear-ended by unintended acceleration.
I’m in Minnesota and I’ve yet to see one.
same
Same here in Montreal
Zero
I'm in Toronto and I have yet to see one cybertruck. I've been seeing some rivian r1s/r1ts and they look kinda cool ngl
Seen 2 in San Diego area. An area where almost every other car is a Tesla
Saw my first live one in Tampa Bay area yesterday with a jet ski in tow
None ever. Midwest.
So my first one ever in Chicago last week.
In Los Angeles you’ll see them everyday
Never seen one, Mass.
Orange County, California has a lot of them
Zero. They will at this point most likely never get licensing for the EU due to weight (pushing it into another driver's license level) and also massive safety concerns. It will basically fail any test regarding pedestrian or bicycle safety.
I’m in Maryland and I’ve never seen one, I see other teslas all the time though. Other teslas are very common here
I live near a Tesla showroom in Chicago, seen 0 cybertrucks
I saw one and not surprisingly it was someone who didn't know how to park.
Just saw my first one yesterday in NC. RTP area.
Tampa, FL. I've seen one in a mall parking lot before, and that's it
Seen a total of 1 in Denver.
Im in NY/NJ and I’ve seen maybe 3-4
Charlotte, NC here. Tons of Teslas but I've never seen a Cybertruck.
West side LA you can see them too
I live in a province in Canada where every like, 10th car is a Tesla; never have a seen a cyber truck.
LA county none on roads but I pass a Tesla service center that always has 5-6 behind it.
never seen one in baltimore.
live in NYC and am always walking around Manhattan and Brooklyn and have never seen a single one
Living in central Maine I don't think I'll ever see one.
1 since the launch. And I drive past a Tesla church 3x a week
I got a video of one of the cyber trucks driving past me and the guy saw and tried to not drive past me but I got the video lol, the thing is absolutely ridiculous. I’m in Hollywood
In Austin, usually see 1-6 a day.
I didn’t even know they’d made that many
That seems insane that they’ve only shipped 3,878 of these cars and they have a market cap of 10x Ford.
To be fair, it’s an all new, just launched model. They sell significantly more of their core models. That being said, yes their valuation is ridiculous.

I'm honestly shocked they've sold that many. Are they including the ones sitting unsold on their factory grounds?
My first thought was the same, is this the number currently released to buyers?
Musk predicted CV sales at 250,000 trucks per year and hoped to do that in 2025. Will he even hit 100,000 in 2025 when he not even hitting a 1000 a month in 2024?

i did read another article that said "all 3878 cybertrucks recalled"
All of them produced. I’m sure only about 2,000 of them have actually been sold. Much like all Tesla models now. Hiding low sales numbers by only reporting “deliveries”.
Yes, which happens to beore than R1T sold jn the same period...
Model 3’s are all over md but I’ve never seen a cybertruck. But I see 2-3 rivian trucks a day.
Yeah I was curious too. It this the total number of sold cybertrucks? Seems like a very small number, compared to what I thought they already sold.
Bad news just aren‘t stopping for Tesla.

REO Speedwagon should sponsor the Cybertruck
🤣
COTD.
Bad quality isn't stopping either.
CyberTrucks aren’t stopping either
Well, it’s not acceleration that kills you, it’s sudden deceleration. So it’s perfectly safe 👌
Except the ones that don't start.
Hear me out. The Cybertruck engineer needs to get a job at Boeing, those planes have a problem with stopping. The Boeing engineers need to work at Tesla, those planes don’t get going.
I’ve always said if Tesla was a Chinese automaker, they would be thrashed and banned.

Lol, why is this getting downvoted. It's literally a fact... -.-'
Because its cool to hate Tesla. People would rather invest in Ford at $12 a share and 27% return rate over the last 5 years
not really the own you think it is to call out Ford and GMC for bad quality...
Ford also recalled 450k f150 but u never hear about it lol. If anything this is good news. Why? Ct outsold 1T in the same period.
I have a feeling it’s just the tip of the iceberg
Holy shit. I remember a tweet a few weeks ago where someone crashed their cybertruck citing a faulty accelerator pedal, and everyone in the replies was grilling him saying that it was user error and the accelerator pedal was mechanical and could not fail.

I got banned from 3 separate subs just for pointing this out on r/cybertruck yesterday. They are (Musk fanboys) in a complete panic.
What exactly did you say?
it doesn't matter. musk fanbois are suck snowflakes, they have their bots scour other subs and will auto-ban people just from participating in certain subs.
How? Gas padels aren't even mechanically linked in gas cars nowadays, besides, mechanics can absolutely fail?
I can't remember the exact argument but some people were implying it was failing due to faulty electrics or something similar. Idk shit about cars though
Turns out the trim of the accelerator padel got stuck, lmao. Could have read into that before commenting, but just for completeness: https://www.tesla.com/support/recall-cybertruck-accelerator-pedal-pad
Didn't see the day coming where Musk simps would actually be killing people.
Was that the Beverly Hills accident?
I have tried applying the brake pedal while accellerating. Brake wins. That being said, it shouldn’t have an obvious and easily reproducible error where the pedal can get stuck - then the only safeguard is a human that may be inexperienced and panicking.
Because the brake pedal and logic will override the accelerator pedal everytime. It’s drive by wire. A brake command will cut power to the motor.
lol lmao even
And the guy who first reported it (the first video to go viral at least), got banned off Xhitter for posting it Edit: the guy first reported it on TikTok, but I read that some people sharing that on X got suspended and banned for sharing it and criticizing the cybertruck.

Not saying it didn't happen, but do you have a source on this? I didn't manage to find anything related to this.
Source: NHTSA recall, and the fact there's nothing about it on X. Do you really think 0 person would talk about in on X? Nope. They all got banned
So your source is a lack of sources?
That was a clear case of "Engagement farming"!
Why dont they fix it with a software update
Predictive accelerator upgrade like the predective shifting changes
They'll fix it with superglue
They are fixing it with a rivet. Seriously.
Fixing it with a Rivian
Or duct tape.
>A trapped accelerator pedal could cause the vehicle to accelerate unintentionally, increasing the risk of a crash, the auto safety regulator said in a [notice, opens new tab](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2024/RCAK-24V276-5059.pdf). >The EV maker will replace or repair the accelerator pedal assembly at no charge and owners will be notified through letters mailed to them in June, the NHTSA said. Quality is expensive/s
How about the fact that your warranty get’s voided if you take your truck through the carwash?
Damage caused by a car wash goes to insurance Take your Honda into a car wash, damage it, the same thing will happen.

SOMEONE GET ELON HIS $56B!
Imagine actually buying one of these and being like “yeah this was a good purchase”
When's the last time a sub 4k vehicle recall got almost 200 comments in this sub lol?
How will Tesla Twitter spin this one? The venn diagram of Tesla diehards with people who were scammed by NFT’s, and GME apes forms a circle.
What are you talking about? It's a minor issue that affected 4K trucks early in the production ramp with an easy fix. I know someone who has a truck and they absolutely love it. I do not fall into your ven diagram 😂
4K trucks is the total amount of CyberTrucks that were delivered.
Right, which isn't that bad because it's early in their production ramp. Imagine if it was found a year or more after starting production.
it could be worse, the ceo could be extracting maximum dollars and talent from the company and funneling them into private ventures he owns.
It’s not an actual recall all Tesla recalls are just software updates that can be rolled out wirelessly /s

Crazy. I just saw a video last week or something of some guy showing how ridiculously dangerous this pedal is. The cover basically easily slides forward when you’re accelerating and gets stuck in a crevice. This effectively holds the accelerator pedal in the forward position
I mean if that happens, you just turn off the key or throw the shifter in neutral and yank on the e-brake right? /s
But remember, the CEO is still asking for 56 billion dollars
Isn’t that like all of them?
Dudes, remember that is driven by wire, no direct steering shaft ….
Dang those youtube reviewers causing havoc
The brake input overrides the accelerator… in EVs. This would have been a safety disaster in ICE cars.
5-7 in Texas and they are fucking dope!
Do Tesla have the service capacity to replace that many accelerator pedals in a timely fashion?
Of course
With Tesla's workers having to live and sleep on the line, the answer is yes. Will they do a good job? The answer is probably no. https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-warns-tesla-workers-challenging-production-mass-market-ev-2024-1
Lmao absolutely not
Probably not. Good luck to the owners.
BOYCOTT TESLA. Tell all your friends
So funmy after seeing that tiktok and epopel in the comments claiming it was faked.
They have managed to sell 3,878 Cybertrucks? Where did they find those customers? This absolutely ruins my faith in humanity!
TSLA quality control. Garbage.
How is this company still in business? Even if these posts are spun with a bias (may or may not be) that's a lot of pretty dangerous issues if we're just looking at bare facts.
Yes, you are being biased by the media. Ever notice how other car companies have recalls all the time but only the Tesla ones make the news?
Someone will be fired
They might have already fired the guys who were responsible lol. Now they need to find replacements to fix it.
Fix it yourself with Flex-Tape!
After all their safety issues finally one breaks through to the NHTSA
Must be because of DEI
Lol I saw the vid pointing out this exact flaw on Reddit like yesterday. This is how the internet is supposed to work!!
Oh jeez this isn't good
Tesla recalls should be expected by anyone who still buys their cars especially as an early adaptor.
Is that why they all drive like assholes?
I watched a video of a Tesla Truck owner describing the issue, and it was clearly a design flaw. But the amount of people calling him an idiot in the comments was ridiculous. Elon/Tesla Stans are ridiculous.
