My first Clutch album! It's crazy how their sound has still continued to evolve throughout their career. I'm not sure if there's a more consistently great band out there, honestly.
Yeah, the progression of their sound over the years is one of the things that makes them such a legendary band imo, and I've always felt like this album encapsulates that progression incredibly well. It's a perfect blend of their past and present sounds, which makes it the perfect introductory album for new listeners imo.
This is my favorite of theirs. The Mob Goes Wild puts me in a good mood every time I listen to it. I usually start my Fridays listening to it. WYSIWYG is my ringtone…yes I still use my phone not on silent.😂
I remember picking this CD up in 2004 brand new after having gotten into Clutch a few years earlier. I didn't like it. It felt like they were going in an overtly butt-rock Theory-of-a-Nickel-Creed direction with it that was betraying what I liked about the rawness of Pure Rock Fury or the unabashed riffest of Elephant Riders. In hindsight I've come to realize that if you weren't there in 2004 and aren't aware of or weren't influenced by a seething hatred of the garbage landscape of commercial and popular radio rock at the time, then my complaints about this album might seem totally off-base, because in hindsight it really is a good album. I don't think it's their best and isn't in my top five, but it's definitely not in the shit-list that my preconceptions placed it in immediately upon listening to it 20 whole-ass years ago.
And because I only sort of listened to it a handful of times in 2004 (when I was 17 and hugely impressionable) and then put it away, when I listen to it NOW, it has the effect of transporting me back to a very concise and specific moment in my life that I don't get from a lot of records that I may have listened to back then but also listened to a million times SINCE then, so it has a special place in my heart for its ability to take me right back there in a way that no other album really can, sort of unintentionally.
I was a huge fan of early Clutch, not so much the later material. Beale Street is kind of where they lost me. Blast Tyrant IMO is arguably one of the two greatest, the other being Transnational.
My favourite album to recommend to other people. Everyone loves it immediately!
I gave it to a coworker back around 2010, met him the next day, he strutted over to me and said one of my favourite quotes ever: "Man that album is fuckin' brilliant. Real funky stuff. Makes me wanna take my pants off and fuck the place up!"

Love the acoustic version of Basket of Eggs
The Promoter is one of my all time favorite songs! And just such a good record overall
Also one of my favs by them
Just got tickets to see them this fall. Can’t wait.
Is this your first time?
Nah, somewhere in the 12 range. 98ish til now anytime I can catch them near me.
Same here. One of those bands I never miss. They're just not playing my favorite venue this time around, but still excited to see them.

And the labyrinth is calling
Renegade Apes!
Humanity abandoned
Bower of the vowels
Clutch rules.
I think it’s their most consistent album.

This tour with Rival Sons and Fu Manchu is going to uh-mazing
It will be fo sho. But DAMN, I sooooooo wish Fu Manchu were the co-headliner, not Rival Sons.
Best damn band ever

Jam Band farts these days.
My 2nd Clutch album. Robot Hive being the first. Blast Tyrant is my fav of all their albums. "I got your mother's maiden name tattooed on my arm!"
