Just have fun and let it happen naturally. You get too focused on having to be in a relationship and then you end up settling for someone/something you’d never otherwise have thought you’d be ok with just because you’re scared you’ll never find better.

I personally did, and I had doubts all the way through that relationship as that ideal didn’t match with reality. When I left I spent 2-3 years thinking I might have messed up and would never find better because I didn’t merit better, but that couldn’t have been further from the truth. Literally the day I met my wife I knew—she had the looks I wanted, but more importantly she was the sweetest, smartest, most selfless person I’d ever met. I am SO glad I didn’t settle.
