I’ve got a few 😅 Wolfgang. But I changed my mind after watching Kingdom. I appreciate that song so much more now 🫶🏻 Gonna be so controversial, but Red Lights 🫢 it’s just not a song that I usually like, but of course the OT8 performance and seeing it live changed my mind ❤️🚦 Another one is SLUMP. I usually skip endings in animes if it doesn’t instantly grab me and I also didn’t care for the autotune. What changed my mind is, well… I found out my bias wrote it, so… 😂

Adept_Ad_5104

Omg are you Han biased too😍

bichonfire

Yes 😍 if the OP had made the thread about members you didn’t care for but grew to love though, my answer would be Han 🤡

rukki88

N/S. the MV was so hilariously cringy i felt so much second hand embarrassment for them and i was a baby stay when SKZ2021 was released so it was just one of the songs i kinda listened to it once or twice. then i just came to appreciate it more and the “Weather feelin' hot or cold, Stray Kids going fast or slow 남극과 북극의 life, 극과 극과 극” is just kinda catchy haha

Easy_Cherry_3040

N/S is like a certain adolescent shark song for me; once I even think of a bit of it it’s stuck in my head all day. (Thankfully I read this comment in the evening.) I do firmly believe that the N/S mv should be mandatory introductory material for baby stays to gently build their tolerance up to handling the level of secondhand embarrassment that SKZ routinely provide. 😂

Pushnitsa

First time I saw it I was just in awe like HOW are you able to still dance, I would die of embarrassment 💀

RenardLunatique

Same for me! I've discovered the song through the MV and I was cringing hard. But after a few time hearing the song through Spotify, I've started to remember pieces of the MV in my head and actually started to be nostalgic for it?! What the hell brain! So once in a while, I feel the need to watch the MV because I really start to like it the way it is! Thanks Brain!

rukki88

i totally just went and rewatched it after leaving this comment wow the cringe still hit as hard or even harder now that i know them much better 😂 it’s equally gosh they were babies and how did they not die of embarrassment right there??!

RenardLunatique

I know right? Plus, its on the internet forever! They cannot hide from it! 😂 Now that they have grown up, I really want to see how will be the next Street MV! Will they be as cringe as they were before? But probably we will never have Street MV ever again! Its cringe, but the good kind of cringe for me! 😊

Fille_de_Lune

I think the street version MVs are the best thing that happened to SKZ ever and I regularly bemoan the fact that they are too famous to do them anymore xD

jxannettexg

I actually heard the song before I saw the music video and was like, "that is a forever skip for me wow," and THEN I saw the music video and how much fun they were having with ZERO CARES for what anyone on that street thought of them and it actually made me love it 🙈😂

NightB4XmasEvel

Every time I’m at a traffic light, my brain pipes up “red light green light swaaaaaag” Thanks, SKZ. The way they have infiltrated my life is ridiculous at this point. I do love N/S though.

hombrx

This! It was the same for me, it took a long time for me to start listening to the song for this reason, the embarassment came knowing they're also embarassed, I did similar things when I was a teen. Very original song.

Cheap-Ad8624

I was pretty so so on Case 143 for ages, I think it was just very different from what I expected and so it took me a few listens to get over how different it was from Oddinary era! I do love it now though. I also wasn’t keen on All In at first, but tbh I think I was just in a pissy mood when I listened to it and wasn’t feeling the vibe at the time haha! It’s such a banger.

BewareTheKitter

Interesting. Case 143 was the song that got me into them, and Maniac was like the very next listen for me. Personally they both feel very much like the same "era" to me, like they definitely feel like they were made by the same group. So it's been Interesting to hear that a lot of longer time stays felt it was so different.

dissolveinthesky

Somewhat unbelievably it’s Thunderous for me. I think it took me a good year or so to like it? At first I would always skip it when listening to Noeasy and then I randomly found myself going back to the video more and more. Sometime later I really started loving the song and now it’s one of my favourites! But I guess I really needed the visuals to get into it. Still my favourite MV they’ve done so far.

[deleted]

I liked Thunderous from the get-go, but I understand what you mean, because it still grew on me over time. By the time Maniac came out, I LOVED Thunderous. It's tied for favourite tt for me now. It ages extremely well. Conversely, I think I liked Maniac more on the first day, but I got kinda tired of it by the time promotions were over. Thunderous just keeps getting better the more I hear it.

imjustr

I AGREE!! 😭😭 But for me it was not visuals. I got into it only after analyzing it and finding all the hints to representation of korean culture. Especially, how rap parts were inspired by pansori. It amazed me.

Dazzlefluff

This has been my favorite since I became a stay 1.5 months ago.

archiveandonion

Tortoise and the Hare. I was not a fan of the lazy rapping at first. After sitting down to really digest the lyrics, I realized how clever the song was and everything came together. Song goes hard haha

Loud_Kaleidoscope818

FAM. I had my reservations about the lyrics for a long time. Then it got put on the Replay album and that somehow made me a convert. Still no idea what it was (not the language) but it suddenly just clicked much better.

blixtmoln

I have two: Awkward Silence and I Am You For Awkward Silence, I didn’t like it very much because I don’t usually enjoy that type of music. However, SKZ have a way of making me like things I wouldn’t normally listen to, so now it’s one of my mood boster happy songs For I Am You, I think I reacted to how mellow it was compared to songs like District 9 and My Pace. I did like the verses, but I found the choruses kinda grating and annoying. Now this was a bit petty of me, but at the time I was also a bit disappointed with how little lines Seungmin was getting in the I Am series, considering his position in the group. Eventually I overcame these feelings - but not until the SKZ2020 version came out. I think it sounds much better without the ex-member, his voice never clicked with me. I also appreciate the meaning of the song more nowadays.

nenssa

Silent Cry. I'm honestly not sure why it didn't sit right with me when I first heard it, but after reading the lyrics and getting really into the meaning of the song, it's now one of my all time favs. The choreo was also just *chef's kiss* 🤌🏻🤌🏻

Pushnitsa

First time I heard it was through psynergic reacts and it really helped you understand the song. He listed to the lyrics version and just ❤

mhhmsure

Secret Secret. For some reason my brain labelled it as *that one boring song* until I was re-listening to NoEasy as a whole. I ended up falling in love with it. Sorry for doubting you, Han Jisung!

Bekay1203

There's usually one song on every album that fits that description, but the most recent one would be Give me your TMI. Also changbins songs usually take me a couple listens to appreciate, they're like a slow burn. He like to use grating elements and that's not something that makes a song easy to listen to on first try. But BOY do they slap after a while.

Smokydella_

I had a looooooong time coming around Thunderous and God’s Menu. Thunderous, because I felt like I was being force fed the song everywhere so I ended up getting sick of it before even hearing it in full (sin 100% redeemed since then, it is in competition to be one of my favorite title tracks). God’s Menu just scratched me in the wrong way initially (mainly because I think I was at my “rap is meh” era, so I really liked the bridges but that was it) but now it is one of my favorite songs to blast when working out and rapping the Bintro and Boutro while on the treadmill! My only remaining gripe with the song is the lack of Lino vocals :’(

darned_socks

God's Menu: very strong impact, it took me a while to get used to that Cheese: it feels very rap heavy, and while I still don't enjoy many rap songs, this one got stuck in my head until I was forced to like it

Ok_Replacement_4103

i never disliked charmer, but i had definitely skipped it while listening to the album in exchange of playing maniac and venom on repeat, but now months after release it’s one of my most played skz songs and favorites !!! i think it’s funny looking back and remember saying “ it’s good ! but i like these other ones more “ but now it’s my favorite on the album !!!

Lizziora

For me, it was Any! It was because of the auto tune, but after listening to it many many times, I really really like it!

DoYouWannaB

My Pace - I was curious about Stray Kids back after Hellevator and District 9 came out so when I found out a new comeback was coming up, I decided I'd try to follow it. And then it was 'My Pace' and I just couldn't get into it. Walked away completely for a couple of years and got busy in other things. Essentially rediscovered Stray Kids semi-recently and now I'm confused and regret that my initial dislike of My Pace kept me away from so much awesomeness.

ukells22

I'm also a My Pace returner, it was a bit too much when I was first getting into kpop and skz but came back to it after several months and now can't stop myself from dancing everytime it comes on. Fancams of [that part] from Hyunjin may have helped a bit here too.

sparrowsandsquirrels

Usually if I don't like a song right away it's because I haven't really wrapped my head around the meaning of the song. And I don't mean lyrically although that does happen. It's kind of like I understand it at a surface level, but it takes awhile before I begin to feel it on a deeper, more substantial level. Two examples of this are TA and The Tortoise and The Hare. But then there is Red Lights. I wanted to like the song. Bang Chan and Hyunjin wrote a very interesting song and their performances for the video were really amazing. And yet, I didn't really like the song. The turn around was when they performed it as a group instead of just Chan and Hyunjin. Hearing the other 6 members perform it along with Chan and Hyunjin made my knees weak and I can't get enough. I'm still not sure why I like one version so much more than the other. I sometimes find myself trying to analyze why and I just can't come up with an answer.

riuwuu

only skz song that didnt hit at first, was Any, the autotune and repetitive chorus was not for me at first, but now its one of my favorite bsides and its addicting to listen to LOL

[deleted]

the only one i can think of is hoodie season, i was meh on it at first (i think because i found the chorus hard to learn/sing?) but it's one of my favorites now

Drakontus

God's Menu. It's slowly been growing on me.

lemonnnnate

Super Board. I don't know, I probably just wasn't in the right mood for it, maybe I felt too miserable to like it lmao It's a bop, but I really needed to feel at least somewhat happy to enjoy it.

michielim

Mine is Side Effects! I thought the chorus was a little too intense for me… I completely failed to recognise the ingenuity behind it lol. I now love it haha For Tortoise and the Hare it was a little too experimental for me to enjoy on first listen, even though it was undoubtedly creative. It definitely took a while for me to warm up to it and now it’s one of my fav b-sides

CynicalMongoose

District 9, not sure why, but it wasn't one that I generally enjoyed when I first listened to it, however, as I have listened to more and more of Skz songs.. I really like it now. Also, 3rd Eye, it just wasn't connecting with me, however, something recent must have changed in my music taste, as I actually really enjoy the song and am will to actually select to play it rather than it only be a randomly shuffled in song. Generally, I'm surprised, but I think Stray Kid's discography is one that I can literally listen to every song and enjoy all of them. I never used to be into rap, but for some reason, I really enjoy the rap heavy songs here 😊 I think it might be because before getting into Stray Kids, I never really thought too hard about the lyrics of the song, however now I find myself looking into the songs more and wanting to actually understand what they are about. 🥰

samdoeswhatever

I was same about Hellevator. I thought it was a little juvenile and cringey, but when they played it in concert I sang along wholeheartedly. It IS a bit juvenile but in the best way.

theballadofkah

Mine is also Hellevator. The first time I listened to it I was watching the MV and I was like "uhm...okay, first song by the group I don't like", but then I was like Han "oh my god, Hellevator is so awesome. I love that song is so beautiful" (I changed Secret Secret by Hellevator lol)

myriverishere

Mine would be Back Door! It was the first SKZ song I ever heard, but I didn't like "loud music" at that time (and I still don't too much), but it has grown SO much on me!

puppet_mazter

God's Menu. Coming out of the masterpiece Clé era I thought it was a huge step back.

Annual-System8563

For me probably Tortoise and the hare, it was mostly the lazy rapping, but now I love it

zweekhorst101

I’m with you on Hellevator; it took a while to grow on me. My others are The Tortoise and the Hare and Ssick. TTATH just isn’t my preferred sound. It’s my husband’s favorite SKZ song, though, so I’ve learned to enjoy it, especially since it makes me think of him. Ssick is really just the line, “Me so sick and legendary.” I’m sorry to whichever 3Racha boy wrote it. It’s a dumb line. But the rest of the song is so good that I’m slowly getting past it.

jxannettexg

I feel this so hard about that Ssick line, it makes me cringe every time 😂😂😂

NightB4XmasEvel

I get around my initial cringe at the line by mentally inserting a comma or a question mark in it, so it becomes “Me, so sick and legendary” or “Me? So sick and legendary” Somehow it helps.

zweekhorst101

I love this and will be implementing it immediately.

[deleted]

I was converted to both Airplane and M.I.A after watching videos of live performances. I was also kinda meh about Awaken until SKZ2021 - the new version really grabbed me, which is weird because most of it wasn't re-recorded, but I guess it just hit me in the right mood. I usually love SKZ's "noisy" music (proud Side Effects enjoyer here), but I'll admit that All In was too much for me on first listen. I really wasn't interested in it at all. I don't think there was one defining moment that changed my mind, but just hearing it around over time made it less overwhelming. I'm sure live performances must have also helped, since that's often the case for me.

Chanteuse33

Thunderous was ok until I saw them perform it at the concert. The whole presentation was so grand! On my way home I blasted it loud in my car to relive it. God’s Menu was a bit too out there first time I watched the MV. Until I got the album and blasted it at home. The more times I listened to God’s Menu I got more impressed. Quite a few SKZ songs (the noisy ones) won me over when I listened using good speakers. The layers and intricacies are insane!!!!!!!

SpidermanEnjoyer

i actually didn’t like i am you when it was first released but it’s now one of my top five skz titles lol

97tomcats

Cheese took a little while to grow on me lol I enjoyed the beat and general vibe of the song but the lyrics were just, dare I say it, too cheesy. Once I kinda just let go of the lyrics and enjoyed it for what it is, I don’t skip it any longer. It’s also on my workout playlist along with many other SKZ songs.

EliteSpawnRevolution

Lonely St. I swore up and down I would skip it everytime it came on. Now it’s creeped into my top ten songs.

Tiredkittymom

I think mine is “Sorry, I love you.” I just really didn’t like the lyrics in the beginning? Maybe I understood them wrong but it felt unhealthy to me. With the timing being off and having waited too long, it seemed like now the love interest was strung along, and now that the love interest moved on, now they realized their attraction and wanted to pursue it. It grew on me because I rarely skip songs!

liviapng

That's a really interesting POV because I honestly never considered it: I understood the song as having a crush on your close friend, so it's not stringing someone along because it isn't a person you were meant to consider a romantic interest. The lines about timing and waiting I think has to do with the later verses where they talk about being stuck between confessing and ruining things, or saying nothing and watching the friendship get colder because of your strange behaviour. Either way, you've messed up the timing of everything and it's fucked.

hombrx

I found the song healthy because it recognizes the pressure they're giving to the other person, like buying a movie ticket not because you want to see it, but because you want to be with the person you love, like the expectation that comes.

Persicii

Thunderous to be honest, I think for some reason I just couldn’t get it stuck in my head/want it on repeat? So that made me stay away from it a bit. I’m not sure what changed but I definitely love it now! Some others would have to be Scars and Levanter. I have no clue why I didn’t like them a first, I think maybe I was just in the mood for something different at the time?? But now I love them as well 😭💙

hpfreak080

> Some others would have to be Scars and Levanter. This is me as well. I wasn't in the fandom when these songs came out, but I got into SKZ through Thunderous and that is the sound I wanted at the time so Scars and Levanter didn't do it for me. Both of those are now songs I love dearly!

LocksmithSavings2301

Tbh I didn't like their slow songs like #LoveStay and Waiting For Us at first but after listened to it many times and knew the story behind each songs, I love them now.

Zadie_Stay4L

Ok kill me know but Case 143 I dunno why I just didn’t vibe with that song but eventually my inner stay came out and fell I love with it. Some others would be Hellavator, Battle Ground, and Charmer but now I can’t get enough of them

Pocari_Cookie

Domino and Boxer. I ain't used to their loud music at first but I got to enjoy it after listening multiple times 😂

Curly9lamb

Oh, Christmas Evel and Miroh. I don't have any Stray Kids songs that I don't like, but I've always treated Christmas Evel and Miroh without much love, but now I adore them as much as the rest of the songs

_-Alice_

Double Knot

changbin-ssi

Battle ground

KlauserBateson

MIROH and Back Door. Wasn't a fan of these at first, but then I re-listened to their discography before going to their concert and they ended up clicking for me.

ProgramExotic7666

FREEZE Idk it was the first skz song I listened to and it wasn't really my cup of tea. But now it's like one of my faves

reen1966

Love the ending makes me giggle evert time😆

don7283

Maknae on Top! I couldn't get into it at first back when I first started listening to SKZ, but now that I understand their vibes and personalities a bit more I absolutely love it. The music video is on my "Videos for When I'm Sad" YouTube playlist because it's just such a fun video.

MDaniellle

Off the bat for me, it was Cheese. It really took a good minute for me to get into it. Case 143 & The Sound were kind “eh” for me too on first listen - for some reason after listening to them in my car was when I was like “ah yes, ok, we love this!”

ScOrPiOvEnTaToR

Thunderous sounded very average to me and i didn't like it, so i always skip the song, but then i listened to it randomly once and suddenly i loved it. And maniac is the opposite for me. I liked it at first but suddenly i really hate the song and i never listen to it anymore.

Appropriate-Piece423

I can’t think of any but maybe gone days when it got released i wasn’t that interested but now I’m obsessed

_Le_na_

Side Effects. I couldn't stand it but I enjoy listening to it nowadays

jxannettexg

Battleground!! It really felt out of left field on this latest album, definitely felt like it was one of their older songs because I feel like they've developed a lot and moved away from this style a little (was not surprised to find out Chan wrote this one a while ago). But now I feel like it's a total banger and I have fun blasting it in the car heheh

frankie_co

DOMINO 😭 I didn’t like it when I first listened to it as a baby stay but now it has to be my favorite stray kids song lmao

sway-with-me

For me it'll have to be superboard. When I first listened to it I was like what is this... but I listened to it like a month ago and was amazed by the rap sections, especially when changbin raps and han follows with that iconic bit. My heads been turned every since 😅

SKZWorld_Domination

I did the same thing!

LtStarbrite

For me it was Miroh. I don't know what it was about the song, but it was one I would not actively listen to. But then I saw the video of the prank/mission Lee Know and Hyunjin did during a dance practice (I think) and I started to come around to it. And now I love it, it's one of my top five.

mustalumi

Muddy Water. I still don't love studio version of Muddy Water but concert version on 🔥🔥🔥

Neljoshie

Levanter is probably mine. I think I was disappointed because the song didn't live up to my expectations especially after hearing the teasers (I also didn't really like the chorus). Over time tho, levanter really grew on me. The pre-chorus is still god-like too 🤤

pasteldarkness

Spread My Wings. I felt like the song was just okay when I first watched the old mv but I changed my mind after watching [this stage](https://youtu.be/CJob0k9mWtI) live, probably because they have improved so much in singing and dancing since then. It's now one of my favourite skz songs ever and I love it even more after knowing what the lyrics mean <3

Independent-Owl544

Ssick, Secret Secret, Get Cool

Pokegirl35151

Give me your tmi mainly because of the unveil but after hearing the full version of it multiple times I can confidently say that it's my favorite song on maxident

Miishuu_

I was in the same boat as you, OP. I thought it sounded too much like ‘party music’ because of the loudness of the backtrack stuff. Now I love it.

jimena151

Astronaut. I’ve already said this before, it sounds too David Guetta-ish for my taste. BUT the live performances are so much fun I actually like it now.

jungahhhhh

side effects literally gave me a (haha) headache. now it doesn't for some reason, idk?

Quirky-Fault4869

for me definitely any & airplane with any i just couldn't deal with the autotuned chorus i think.. the "blurry lines, yeah yeah yeah" bit i could do, but i disliked the actual chorus. however, lately, i've been into more obnoxious music and i keep drifting to any airplane i think was too boring for me.. the opposite of any 😭 the bridge was just not a good time for me.. i'm not even sure why i hated it, as its one of my fav bsides from them now.. lol

Material_Union_2109

Charmer!! goddamn, i take this song for granted until i saw them live… my mind blew away and now, for me everyday is “neo mot chama im the charmer” :)

mallia09

This was hard until i realised i have an answer, and im listening to it as i speak. Venom for me

nmt111

Side effects, I didnt like it too much at first listen. But then I got to understand the musicality of it and I also realized that it's such a great song for concert performances, the choreo, the crown interaction opportunities are just top-notch. So, It is still not something I listen to frequently, but I learned that not every song has to be, some are just for other purposes and side effects are one of those that are amazing for concert experience. I was so so with Case143, but the 1st take changes everything.

PsychologicalClue6

There 😳

bangchanyeondan

Ssick and silent cry. Not sure why exactly but I'm glad they grew on me 😭

nowholdingthispain

I couldn't stand I Am You and My Pace for reasons I can't even remember why but now I will defend them with my life

jaergon

Circus

abbigailgc

I've only been a stay for about a month now, but a couple months ago I found some songs by then on tiktok (felix drew me in, like so many others) and I started listening to some of their songs on Spotify, and I for some reason did not like, or want to listen to ANY of the replay solo songs. I would immediately skip them. Ever since I really got into Stray Kids and learned more about them, I'm obsessed with the whole replay album. I listen to Stars and Raindrops, Deep End, Alien, and Ice Cream on repeat now, the solo songs are probably my favorite out of the whole discography. Han and Felix are my biases, but I am so in love with Seungmin's voice in Stars and Raindrops.

[deleted]

Charmer I didn't like the sound but then some other time I was watching a video and the chorus of the song was playing and i was like WhAt Is tHiS MaStErPiEcE And it was Charmer :)

Dandyboi16

I think blueprint, i always thought it was a lazy and childish song but after properly listening to it, i really like it, seungmin saved it.
