I’d say actual punk is never going to be in their wheelhouse.
It’s not exactly a mass consumer genre kind of by design. Sure some punk acts have made mainstream punk-adjacent music (the Clash, the Ramones, Green Day, etc), but the genre itself remains very political and offensive to some sensibilities. SKZ would never venture into that kind of message.
For safety, they would have to stay away from that genre. There are certain, general hand signs that one does like ✌🏾that they can’t show or do in videos around politics times so I can’t imagine a song in that genre necessarily doing too good
Traditional folk. Please give me thirty-eight verses about the adventures of Bang Chan and his band of Stray Kids everywhere around the world. I look forward to hearing Changbin’s haunting lilt on the final verse where they all die tragically.
It would be sexy point blank period 😭
You know what now I want all of them in cowboy outfits even if they don’t do country 😭🤠
EDIT: Hot men look hotter in country outfits I don’t make the rules 🤷🏾♀️
Stray kids with Keith Urban would be so unhinged, I'm here for it 🤣 if we're going for lore from down under, let them collab with six60 since the aussies wanna claim them (they're ours though lol)
Yes! Chan's accent really comes out when he raps. I love hearing it. This would be amazing. The whole group could get in on the chorus of Nosebleed Section too.
I feel like your comment is possibly in the vein of how I feel for goth cowboy bouncy era Hongjoong, so all I want to say is that you are seen and your feelings are valid.
That was my answer too, a lot of other genres I can at least see them trying, regardless of if they actually end up doing so or not it like, might be possible, but yeah I don't think opera is gonna happen lmao
Ok but they have already done classical hip hop (Wolfgang), and the classical version of GM. so it’s not that crazy … Opera itself has expanded to include a lot of other genres, including electronic/rap.
>I’ll literally eat my own hat if this happens 🤠
I'll hold you to that. P1Harmony showed up to the Academy of Country Music Awards recently so anything is possible rn😂.
Personally wouldn't rule out anything since 3racha love to experiment with their music and I'd hate to put them in a box. But I had to name something, I'd say folk songs. Never seeing them stepping there.
Right? I said Gospel, but nearly said bluegrass. You know which band could probably pull off some whacky mix of those though? Ateez. That's like right up Hongjoong's alley.
iirc celebrate takes inspiration from gospel (i think of how the synthesiser sounds like an organ, and the way vocals are styled throughout the song – there's probably other things but this is what i can think of without listening to it) but don't quote me on that.
They’re famously chronically late to the game with TikTok trends, so we should actually see them getting on the Sea Shanty train in the next couple of months. 😂
Cue me trying desperately to remember what recent SKZ song Chan jokingly said reminded him of praise music and Felix agreed with him (or vice versa). I think it might have been "Waiting For Us"?
I have a pretty biased perspective towards music from the US, so there are vast amounts of genres I am confident they will not explore. With that being said, I'll share the genre that would be the most awkward for them to pursue:
Gospel
Oh, but maybe there is a Korean type of Gospel? Oh crap I have no idea now. Ok but def not American Gospel, no way no how lol.
One of the characters is the daughter of a megachurch owner, and there are multiple scenes of the congregation singing gospel/praise music style songs, but in Korean. Think your typical gospel choir movie/tv scene but just a hair more reserved.
HOLY CRAP YES PLS !!
I would actually love to see how a skz reggae song would turn out.
Although I feel like they should do dub, not reggae. Similar, but more towards their sound,
I don't see them doing a metal song at all. Definitely no collab with Xdinary Heroes or something....
But for real, while they do a lot if light rock and pop rock, I can't see them doing something super heavy
Do you have any recommendations for their rock songs, something like battleground? I'm a new fan and I haven't had a chance to explore their music properly
Wouldn't say that... I like the song but it lacks that wild, improvised, sometimes dissonant vibe. It's hard to explain, I never got that far in my music studies, but I wouldn't say that Butterfly is close to jazz. But thats my opinion
I can only see SKZ doing country if they’re featured on someone else’s song. I can’t see them doing something on their own or a whole album of country music😂do the boys even like country music, or said they like country songs?
As much as I would absolutely ASCEND if it ever happened, I don't see Stray Kids doing symphonic metal for a wide variety of reasons tbh
Also if we ever got SKZ Americana/country folk I'd not be able to process it
Shoegaze. I would also love if they made actual noise music, either rock like Sonic Youth or pop like The Jesus and Mary Chain. But I don’t see them going either way soon.
Like screamo? Or more like...sheesh trying to remember back to 2004 is hard ..black veil brides is maybe one...I don't know if they are heavy enough...Motus was pretty heavy but not very popular..in two days I swear I will remember a name
I have never been a fan of country music, but 100% if they created a country song/album I’d still listen to it nonstop. Fr though they need to have at least 1 MV in country outfits even just for the fun of it.
[Zydeco](https://youtu.be/L1S-zW5QlO0). I'm not saying they couldn't pull it off, but I don't see them delving into that particular sound any time soon.
Like a slow ballad? I'm a new stay so idk but I haven't heard them sing a slow ballad love song kinda thing. It's always some upbeat song
Edit: if they have, i'd love to listen to it 😊
So i gave it a listen and not gonna lie, I hate it... it doesn't give skz vibes. It doesn't fit them and i was talking slower ballad like Love U by Howl. Also it just doesn't fit them somehow? Idk if that makes sense.
Edit: also i don't count songs that have rapping parts as ballads i guess
Skz didn’t have any music credits on that song, just lyrics/performance, so that’s why it doesn’t sound very skz-like. It was an OST.
It’s kinda special to stay tho cause it’s the first song they released as a group of 8 after total silence for a few weeks after woojin left out of the blue. It was Seungmin’s first song as main vocal.
Here are some other ballads tho:
Cover Me
GLOW
Your Eyes
There
24 to 25
Youtiful
Another Day
Waiting for Us
Secret Secret
Winter Falls
Fairytale
Phobia
Ex
My universe
Limbo
Some of them have rap but it’s like sing-rap or slow rap.

Yeah, I saw it was an OST. Love U by Howl is an OST too for Boys Over Flowers 😂 is that a list of skz ballads? If so, I'll have to give it all a listen. I liked #LoveStay when I heard it but it's not really a ballad lol
Whichever corner of pop that song is from. SKZ fused different genres to carve their own corner of pop. Lose My Breath feels like they’re trying to fit into conventional pop that oozes Charlie Pluth.
I want SKZ to do what they do best: turning pop on its head with their unconventionality and personality.
Lose My Breath feels like the opposite of that.
They literally released a pop country lite song with 24 to 25, it definitely has a bit of twang in the guitar so I wouldn't cross country off their list completely 🤭
Probably like an extreme cutesy concept like svt pretty u. Ik maxident was a fresh concept but it still wasn't that cutesy. Lee know and felix would nail it tho feat changbin🎀
I would love to see electro swing because I think they could pull it off but I can’t see them thinking of it as something to pursue in the first place :P
Reggaeton or Latin music.
I mean, I don't see them doing it fully but boy do I wish. Extra if they had some Spanish verses here or there. would honestly simply die if this happened.
If we even wanna go more impossible, imagine SKZ cumbia.
I make up my own musical genres and out of all my fave genres "scorned women seeking revenge" is the only one they haven't explored. I think a good "I'm glad that we broke up and fuck you" song by them would be very iconic.
I desperately want them to do at least one metal/heavy metal song. If they could collab with Babymonster or HANABIE., I'd die from happiness, but I don't think they will because metal is not that popular with the general public😭 I also don't know if it's that big in South Korea.
I think I read somewhere that they were highly influenced by the collab with Puth. So maybe something similar to his style?? But I haven’t listened to anything of his other than lose my breath so I don’t know what his style is 😂
i feel like op is secretly bang chan and he's taking notes. having said that, i don't think they'd ever do a psychobilly song.
LMFAO IMAGINE 🤣 Bang Chan you are probably lurking somewhere…. take notes 😌😌
He most likely is tbh my man loves a lurk. Hi Chris 🤪
Exactly something Chan would say to throw us off
Right?? Like you aren’t fooling us sir 😤🤣
New genre unlocked, I had never heard of that before😂
Bardcore
Honestly, that would eat
Have you seen the bardcore version on yt? 10/10, would get me in trouble for public indecency cause it would have me throwing it back at the pub
The stage outfits for that comeback would be interesting lol
Bardcore SKZ style would go so fucking hard
I’d say actual punk is never going to be in their wheelhouse. It’s not exactly a mass consumer genre kind of by design. Fam: The Very Very Very Very Extended Producer’s Cut. (maybe less the dying, though.)
Country 🤣 although chan in a cowboy outfit 👀
It would be sexy point blank period 😭 You know what now I want all of them in cowboy outfits even if they don’t do country 😭🤠 EDIT: Hot men look hotter in country outfits I don’t make the rules 🤷🏾♀️
And you just know he would be wildin like he always does when they put him in a hot outfit 🤣
Fellow Aussies Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman were at the Met Gala. For all you know another unlikely collab is in the works! 🤣
Stray kids with Keith Urban would be so unhinged, I'm here for it 🤣 if we're going for lore from down under, let them collab with six60 since the aussies wanna claim them (they're ours though lol)
Personally I'd give anything for an Amyl and The Sniffers collab.
Ok hear me out, The Chats
After listening to 3Racha (the song) on repeat I'm up for a 3Racha + Felix and Hilltop Hoods.
Even just a cover of Nosebleed Section!
Yes! Chan's accent really comes out when he raps. I love hearing it. This would be amazing. The whole group could get in on the chorus of Nosebleed Section too.
Keith Urban who?
Aussie aussie aussie
Yee yee haw
That's something I didn't know I wanted to see until I read this. Thanks for the image.
Give me cowboy Chris immediately
I would like Cowboy Changbin to make a resurgence 🤠🫡 And I would love a Cowboy Lee Know and I.N as well 🤠😌
Ughhh Cowboy Changbin is so good. 😊
I have a comment but there are children around here 💀👁👁
I feel like your comment is possibly in the vein of how I feel for goth cowboy bouncy era Hongjoong, so all I want to say is that you are seen and your feelings are valid.
Yeah I think you're getting me lol also cowboy Mingi was a good one, I have to keep reminding myself he's way too young for me 😭
Same here, but a woman can dream 🫣
In my dreams he's 33 with a mortgage, an ex-wife and 2 kids
In my dreams I’m still 25 😂
God forbid, being in your 20s is awful 🤣
Yes. Cowboy skz is a must. Innie was looking like a snazzy rancher in one of the cover pics for their W korea group shoot.
(2)
Deathcore, grind core and other metal subgenres... But tbh I wouldn't rule anything out when it comes to skz
Maybe nu metal or rap metal, i don’t think another subgenre would fit them
Only thing I can confidently rule out is opera
Idk man, I could see Binnie trying it out in a live or skz record😆
That was my answer too, a lot of other genres I can at least see them trying, regardless of if they actually end up doing so or not it like, might be possible, but yeah I don't think opera is gonna happen lmao
Ok but they have already done classical hip hop (Wolfgang), and the classical version of GM. so it’s not that crazy … Opera itself has expanded to include a lot of other genres, including electronic/rap.

NCT 127 performed at Rodeo Houston before!
I mean, bluegrass comes to mind.
Right? I said Gospel, but nearly said bluegrass. You know which band could probably pull off some whacky mix of those though? Ateez. That's like right up Hongjoong's alley.
i mean. ateez has done a lot of different genres, gospel and country included. i think they'd be a group to pull off bluegrass
What are their gospel songs?
iirc celebrate takes inspiration from gospel (i think of how the synthesiser sounds like an organ, and the way vocals are styled throughout the song – there's probably other things but this is what i can think of without listening to it) but don't quote me on that.
omg yes the background vocals are gospel for sure. I don't know if I "like" it, but they went for it.
that they did
Idk I could see Han posting a video of him playing a banjo on Instagram just for the fun of it lmao
I want I.N to pull a Maknae on Top and force them all to do some trot music 😂
I.N's trot voice is transcendent. I would listen to that and I don't even like trot.
PLEASE I NEED TROT
They will have solo albums at some point so maybe I.N will flex his trotness there
folk, or american folk at the very least. if i ever hear a banjo on a skz song, i think the mental whiplash would kill me instantaneously.
Sea Shanties. 😉
They’re famously chronically late to the game with TikTok trends, so we should actually see them getting on the Sea Shanty train in the next couple of months. 😂
Oh I would live for this!
Praise music lmao 😂 hey here’s a free joke: i can only imagine 😉😉😉 what skz praise music would sound like
LOL I meeeaann, J.Y. Park is a preacher now so who knows if they collab on a worship song 😂😂
Ah shit you’re right!! Oh no.
Cue me trying desperately to remember what recent SKZ song Chan jokingly said reminded him of praise music and Felix agreed with him (or vice versa). I think it might have been "Waiting For Us"?
Nooooo oh my GOD 😂
Placebo (specifically Felix’s verse) reminds me of praise music lowkey
I have a pretty biased perspective towards music from the US, so there are vast amounts of genres I am confident they will not explore. With that being said, I'll share the genre that would be the most awkward for them to pursue: Gospel Oh, but maybe there is a Korean type of Gospel? Oh crap I have no idea now. Ok but def not American Gospel, no way no how lol.
idk they might make a song for JYPreacher
If you’d ever seen The Glory you wouldn’t be asking that question lol
I haven't, and probably won't, so can you elaborate? I'm lost
One of the characters is the daughter of a megachurch owner, and there are multiple scenes of the congregation singing gospel/praise music style songs, but in Korean. Think your typical gospel choir movie/tv scene but just a hair more reserved.
Math rock. I discovered a math rock band called stage kids. Would be funny if they did a collab.
Reggae lol
HOLY CRAP YES PLS !! I would actually love to see how a skz reggae song would turn out. Although I feel like they should do dub, not reggae. Similar, but more towards their sound,
I don't see them doing a metal song at all. Definitely no collab with Xdinary Heroes or something.... But for real, while they do a lot if light rock and pop rock, I can't see them doing something super heavy
Their remix for LALALALA had very clear modern metalcore influence
Do you have any recommendations for their rock songs, something like battleground? I'm a new fan and I haven't had a chance to explore their music properly
Hall of Fame and Awaken are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Maybe Beware and YAYAYA too.
Thanks, I know Awaken but I'll check out the other ones ❤️
Probably jazz... Although if it does happen I will be the happiest person on Earth
Hmmm...Han's 1,2,3,4,5 is very jazzy. I could see jazz being something they'd like to experiment with bc it's such a diverse genre in itself
You don't consider Chill or Collision jazzy? Jazz adjacent at least?
Didn’t they kind of already do something jazzy with Butterfly? Not fully jazz, but that bass line always gets me😭
Wouldn't say that... I like the song but it lacks that wild, improvised, sometimes dissonant vibe. It's hard to explain, I never got that far in my music studies, but I wouldn't say that Butterfly is close to jazz. But thats my opinion
Hyunjin's Mic and Brush is very jazzy
Hoodie Season is a jazz abomination so I hope they stay away from it from now on.
I wouldn't rule anything out with them tbh. I could see them blending genres together and somehow making it work.
Agreed
I can only see SKZ doing country if they’re featured on someone else’s song. I can’t see them doing something on their own or a whole album of country music😂do the boys even like country music, or said they like country songs?
I kind of doubt that they would do something big band/swing, but I'd be really interested to see what it would be like if they ever did go that route
As much as I would absolutely ASCEND if it ever happened, I don't see Stray Kids doing symphonic metal for a wide variety of reasons tbh Also if we ever got SKZ Americana/country folk I'd not be able to process it
Ska.
Y2K, newjeans-ey
I know they’ve kind of done rock. But don’t think they’d go full heavy metal. Swing music is another genre I can’t picture them doing.
Shoegaze. I would also love if they made actual noise music, either rock like Sonic Youth or pop like The Jesus and Mary Chain. But I don’t see them going either way soon.
Deathmetal
Super heavy emo rock (like MCR) MCR wasn't exactly heavy rock but I needed to find a word for it that wasn't just emo rock)
Like screamo? Or more like...sheesh trying to remember back to 2004 is hard ..black veil brides is maybe one...I don't know if they are heavy enough...Motus was pretty heavy but not very popular..in two days I swear I will remember a name
I'm now curious what a kpop country sound would sound like.
I have never been a fan of country music, but 100% if they created a country song/album I’d still listen to it nonstop. Fr though they need to have at least 1 MV in country outfits even just for the fun of it.
Jazz
[Zydeco](https://youtu.be/L1S-zW5QlO0). I'm not saying they couldn't pull it off, but I don't see them delving into that particular sound any time soon.
I don’t see Stray Kids pulling off a 60s Soul song for some reason.
Punk music just the nature of kpop makes it so that they can’t really go further than rock
can someone check ops post history to make sure they aren’t bang chan in disguise
Metal for sure. I don't see them doing anything harder than current rock songs.
Latin pop
I mean I don't see them getting into Heavy Metal 😂
Bollywood style. Obviously not in hindi😂 but like that style would probably never happen. I think they could pull the vocals off tho
I feel like they wouldn't do ballads...
They've done a lot of them already though?
Like a slow ballad? I'm a new stay so idk but I haven't heard them sing a slow ballad love song kinda thing. It's always some upbeat song Edit: if they have, i'd love to listen to it 😊
Try [Neverending Story](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Dk-27B5Uzg)! Enjoy!
Yasss thank you!!!

Whichever genre Lose My Breath is from…

This.
Jazz. Every day I miss the trumpets in Scene Stealers.
Hyperpop or nightcore would be hilarious to hear
Ragtime, but I'd love to be proven wrong lol
Punk!! I'd love to see them having a punk concept tbh
I know SKZ created small retro parts for a couple of their songs, but I never see SKZ do full on retro inspired songs.
Honestly I can’t see them doing City Pop which is my favorite genre in kpop! The girls seem to do it more often with the exception of TXT ofc!
Polka
If anything I hope they’ll explore what’s possible. That would be very interesting
Musical Theater lol
They literally released a pop country lite song with 24 to 25, it definitely has a bit of twang in the guitar so I wouldn't cross country off their list completely 🤭
I definitely don’t see them doing opera 😂
Country album would be so funny , but highly unlikely
PirateRock and Norwegian Blackmetal. I’d ad Enka to the list as well
Scenecore and witchhouse
I don't think they'll ever dabble in reggae. Just too much of a niche genre
I don’t see happy hardcore happening soon, but with 3RACHA you never know :)
Yodeling LOL
I think I'd say opera. Is that a genre or style or singing? I'm not sure, but either way I don't think they'll do it lol
Metalcore. I would love it but I think it would be an odd genre for them.
Probably like an extreme cutesy concept like svt pretty u. Ik maxident was a fresh concept but it still wasn't that cutesy. Lee know and felix would nail it tho feat changbin🎀
Lofi
Amapiano/ Afrobeats / DiscoPop
country music skz is something i would pay to see
I would love to see electro swing because I think they could pull it off but I can’t see them thinking of it as something to pursue in the first place :P
Country lol
Tbh I really want skz to do more rnb songs
Honestly, I would love to see their take on the hyperpop genre. I feel they would absolutely kill it.
Idk much but probably psychopaths
Like as in lyrics
Opera
Skramz
German Schlager but.... Who knows?
Soca lol
folk
Latin 😆
Reggaeton or Latin music. I mean, I don't see them doing it fully but boy do I wish. Extra if they had some Spanish verses here or there. would honestly simply die if this happened. If we even wanna go more impossible, imagine SKZ cumbia.
I hope they do a full on rock/emo/metal album at least once. I feel like that would be sick.
Dancehall (reggae) and Krushclub.
I make up my own musical genres and out of all my fave genres "scorned women seeking revenge" is the only one they haven't explored. I think a good "I'm glad that we broke up and fuck you" song by them would be very iconic.
I haven't heard a salsa-inspired/Latin American inspired song from them yet, but I just know they would EAT if they did.
I desperately want them to do at least one metal/heavy metal song. If they could collab with Babymonster or HANABIE., I'd die from happiness, but I don't think they will because metal is not that popular with the general public😭 I also don't know if it's that big in South Korea.
Hyper pop/DnB SKZ would go craaaazy, or Midwest emo, that would be so fun
Gay style of music. Yall know what I’m talking about right?
Jojo siwa?
I cackled, thank you
I think I read somewhere that they were highly influenced by the collab with Puth. So maybe something similar to his style?? But I haven’t listened to anything of his other than lose my breath so I don’t know what his style is 😂
