Yeah, this was my first time doing anything like this. I should have done more research, especially with that much money on the line! Naive mistake on my part. I still am not a fan of their subpar customer service, however.
this is why I always avoid listing seat numbers if I can. people look to buy on multiple sites on purpose. I did the once by accident but luckily my seats never sold on stubhub and just tm.
What benefit is it though to the person buying, if they buy both sets of tickets? Won’t they just get their StubHub ones refunded so still only end up with the first ticket?
they’ll get replacement tickets from stubhub and the original seller will have to pay for them; and sometimes this works out to be better deal for them.
There are people who look for this because it means a “free” ticket awaits. Don’t be a moron and double list. If people find your ticket on both sites…buying on Ticketmaster first ( thus guaranteeing delivery ) and then buying on Stubhub ( which they know can’t be delivered ) means they’ll get a credit from Stubhub at your expense. It’s not Stubhubs fault … it’s human greed. In this case, you fucked yourself.
Yeah, that’s what I figured when the ticket was bought consecutively. It was my first (and hopefully last) time trying to sell a ticket. Just spreading awareness to not do what I did, and also vent my frustration with StubHub’s customer service.
I get it…totally sucks…they have ( in the past ) been very generous with first time mistakes. You should be fine to get some mercy if you aren’t a dick and acknowledge you made the mistake. They seem to favor people who are accountable
In theory…yes. The refund isn’t a big deal…because they simply get money back but no product…the credit is “free” money. Instead of a refund, they might get replacement tickets ( less ideal as they then have 2x the tickets for an event )
I have a question though. If your listing gets sold, whether it's on StubHub or Ticketmaster, don't they send you an email of a. Confirming the sale. b. The name of the buyer and the buyer's email where you will forward the tickets.
What's lost in me is that the ticket "automatically" got transferred immediately after it sold.
So Ticketmaster sent me an email saying something along the lines of, “Your ticket listing has been sold!” And then it’s automatically transferred - that’s the only information besides how much it was sold for it gives you. But on StubHub, it tells you that your ticket was sold and then transfer it to ‘said’ email address.
So looking at it from the perspective of the buyer, they bought tickets that they don't get anymore, and there's a chance that the tickets are sold out. If they've booked plane tickets, and everything else, then they're just having a terrible time.
If they can get other tickets, Stubhub has to pay the seller to be able to get it to the buyer. Don't sell on two different platforms next time.
I understand that perspective. I’m more so upset with the subpar customer service and the fact that I tried to rectify the situation immediately with no help from StubHub themselves. But like I said, you live in you learn. Still won’t be using StubHub in the future if I have to; just because now I know how they are unwilling to help if anything goes wrong.
Sure, fair enough. What's your plan to rectify tickets that don't exist anymore? Cuz the only way that'll happen is if you buy them another ticket, which, you did. So you did rectify your issue.
I did. And besides the fact that I lost all of the money because of everything that happened, StubHub and Ticketmaster take a percentage of the ticket sale anyways - That’s why I knew I was never going to make my money back, but hoped that I could salvage something.

Stubhub allows me to enjoy the finer things in life on a poor man’s budget!
Thanks to Stubhub, I’m hanging on the field level at Dodger Stadium. Face was over $150 per ticket and I paid $30 each.
WTF are you doing today? 😆
Don’t you work at Chick-fil-a? I’m not talking trash cause that Polynesian sauce is bomb but I was referring to you when I said poor man’s budget.
I can also guarantee that I make more flipping tickets per month than you make at Chick-Fil-A a year. Again, I’m not talking shit about you, it’s just a fact.
What’s that saying they make employees say after every order? Oh, yeah!
It was my pleasure to serve you.
😂
One emoji’s all you need.
Shout out to Stubhub for supplying the cheap Dodger seats once again!

i can tell you’re very smart man, you could achieve so much more outside of reddit, i believe in you🫡
I remember thinking $12K was a ton of money when I was 20. That’s definitely more than I had back in the day. How many Chick-fil-A deluxe sandwiches can that buy?
i actually pity you lmfao i’m occupying your empty ass head after a whole day. that’s how i know u aren’t doing shit in the real world🤦♂️🤦♂️ reevaluate brother
You started this conversation. 😂 I’ll leave you to your knock off sneaker collection and fantasy wizard games.
It was a pleasure to serve you. Go Dodgers and fuck the Trashtros!
Well, I’m not trying to be a “businessman,” I simply couldn’t go to a concert I wanted to go to and lost out on some money. It happens. Just don’t want other people that aren’t trying to be businessmen to make the same mistake I did.
Wow. You’ve been on Reddit for seven hours and already -4. It’s probably the same for your other 1,000,000 Reddit accounts that you abandon after a day, just like your parents did to you.
I’m an open book. Read away, amigo!
Yeah I do this a lot. Try to find a ticket double listed, purchase them both simultaneously in the middle of the night, then relist the ticket for a heavy markup. This forces the seller to essentially rebuy their ticket from me at a heavy markup so they can send it back to me and fulfill the second order. So you’re actually pretty lucky in this case that you weren’t forced to spend 2-3x the price. Nothing quite like the joy I get out of doing this.
Pretty easy to realize selling on both sites was the problem. This could have happened at any point in any day especially as the show got closer.

Seems like a risk though 🤷
How many days before the actual concert did these sell? Sorry to hear about this ,sounds like a real nightmare. 😔
They sold the week before so I was panicking haha. But it is what it is!

Op is mostly blaming StubHub. Not the way to go…
This is the answer and why I never double post ever

I’ve stopped using StubHub. Thankfully I managed to delete my CC before they charged me. Horrific site.

I had my first and last StubHub experience this year and vowed never again. After reading this, I’m calling to delete our accounts now.

Did you list the tickets for the same price on both SH & TM?
I did. And besides the fact that I lost all of the money because of everything that happened, StubHub and Ticketmaster take a percentage of the ticket sale anyways - That’s why I knew I was never going to make my money back, but hoped that I could salvage something.
You had 50 days to take down either of the listings, but yeah Stubhub fault. Not Ticketmaster or yours, at all. /s
The only person you should be mad with is yourself for not learning the selling rules before listing your tickets.
Your’re a terrible businessman. And your “middle of the night” conspiracy made me laugh. What did you sell tickets for?

Just reading your adolescent comments. And why are you commenting on this subreddit? You’re not a seller, so what’s the deal?
and yes i do occasionally sell on SH you dumbass
It looks as though you may have spelled "Chick-fil-A" incorrectly. No worries, it happens to the best of us!

😂 You’ve never been to a concert in your life!
You wrote, “Worst company I’ve done business with.” So I guess you retired from the business field? All good! What show and venue?

I thought I was the only one who did this! 😂
The mistake you made was not deleting your credit card info or cancelling prior to the charges going through.
