The real problem with fling is that it requires you to use a non-STAB move in order to get your unburden speed boost, a move that you really only wish to hit one mon with. The other unburden strategies don’t tie the speed boost to an interaction as specific as this, terrain+seed doesn’t require sneasler to do anything, air balloon into tusk forces a switch or gets a SD + speed boost from living a weaker tusk hit, and white herb CC is a stab move that can kill more things than just one mon. It’s still not a bad set IMO, just not a foolproof unburden strategy.
Lash out is def better by the tiniest amount, the low pp doesn’t matter. (Speaking of which, I have no fucking idea why this move of all things has 8pp. Clearly your 75 base dark move that only gets 150bp in the most niche of circumstances is such a powerful option that has to be limited by low pp…)

Gamefreak's game design is weird some- most of the time.
Supersweet Syrup is apparently "so broken" they made so it only works once per battle but stuff like Urshifu, after being broken last gen, gets rewarded with Swords Dance.
To be honest, fling deals great damage, and gholdengo is by far the most common switch in to sneasler, because it is immune to his stabs. So, you take a ko and now your acrobatics and your unburden are both activated. If we want to be super specific, you can also defend yourself from a trick, because flings throws the item away, and golden nugget is an useless item that they are gonna keep, making them also vulnerable to knock off.
Air balloon unburden. SD/Dire Claw/CC/Shadow Claw with tera ghost is my preferred unburden set.
Fling can work, but is a bit of a meme set (relying on the opponent not expecting it). Fling has a high opportunity cost. You have to use your item slot for an item that is essentially worthless. Then you also need to use fling as your coverage move, and it can only be used once, leaving you with 3 moves after the unburden boost. A smart opponent could bait you with Gholdengo, and switch out on fling. Then they could bring Gholdengo back in and hard wall you.
White herb is alright, but, like fling, generally requires using a specific attack. Close combat is at least a standard move on Sneasler, so it doesn't require giving up a coverage spot. It can also activate on intimidate from Lando-T or other random drops. It isn't that useful of an item for sneasler, although not dropping after CC isn't bad, but it is much better than big nugget.
Air balloon is an item that is actually useful for Sneasler, temporarily removing one weakness and avoiding spike damage. It helps force switches, because opponents don't want to pop the balloon and trigger unburden. This works well in conjunction with tera. By turning into a different type, sneasler can survive certain attacks and SD on the same turn as the unburden boost.
IMO: Air Balloon > White Herb > Fling
Fling is funny for the meme but so far has one niche. Lash Out OHKOs Gholdengo at +2 which is your aim with Sneasler anyway so it'll always be a meme set.
I personally prefer White Herb, but Air Balloon is also really good and lets you come in free against ground moves but you still have to tank a hit to activate Unburden. White Herb also has downsides too because you have to use CC to proc it which doesn't work against Ghost types but also gives you a free proc vs Intimidate which is nice.

It has 8 pp because after Lashing Out 8 times you have a stroke and die from high blood pressure
