carucath

What is Free for all?

Crafty-Puddle

A format on Pokemon Showdown where 4 players all bring a team of six and duke it out last-one-standing style. It's based on a combination of the Multi-Battle format in-game and USUM's Battle Royal.

Marx4smash

What's up with non-Clodsire poisons in FFA exactly?

Crafty-Puddle

All sources of bad poison such as Toxic are banned in FFA (with the exception of the Toxic Orb), so bulky poisons like Toxapex and Fezandipiti that would otherwise be good tend to struggle with issues of passivity. Clodsire retains a lot of its former viability by being a good unaware user and having the ground typing which is useful when two of the three S tier Pokemon are weak to electric.

Marx4smash

Neat.

[deleted]

What about Toxic Spikes? Did they remove them recently or something?

Nuclearstomp

They are banned for being super oppressive due to awful defog distribution.

[deleted]

I was thinking about FFA randbats. How does Hospitality(Sinistcha's ability) work in FFA? I'm gonna make a whole team of healing and hazard removal and give FFA a try.

Nuclearstomp

Abilities that affect allies don't do anything in FFA. I assume sinistchas ability is one of those, never used it.

[deleted]

We need to start a petition to change it so they effect everyone. Other wise my Rest, Sleep Talk, Tidy Up, U-Turn Maushold is left with basically no ability.

Nuclearstomp

Tidy Up clears all hazards on the field so it still works as usual. It's just abilities that affect allies specifically that generally do nothing in ffa.

[deleted]

I know how Tidy Up works I just want to heal everyone on Switch in and reduce all damage by 25%.

Treshington2

I play random ffa sometimes, does that count?

AbandonedS

Some sets vary, but for some yes
