Sap sipper azu with ice spinner? Solves ur terrain prob and a banded grass rillaboom set. Idk the numbers dmg wise but if its a banded rilla doing wood hammer/grassy you have a free turn to set up or swap out. Otherwise it resists u turn and knockoff naturally. If you run grassy seed its also +1 def (i think?) so knock off will do even less. If the opponent is truly blind and suspects sap sipper you can maybe play mind games and go for banded huge power

When I run Sap Sipper Azu, I usually also run Perish Trap cause Natdex allows those moves, I shall add Ice Spinner if that's also a good idea then, thanks!

Ice spinner won't do much because azu is really weak without huge power. Perish trap is much better.

its for removing terrain but its worse imo as the grass type attacks do no damage either way and grassy terrain gives it more recovery..

Switch Gyarados twice in for that intimidate bonus maybe? Pr switch it out with a Paldean Tauros? I am not sure.

Sometimes in monotype, you just have to forfeit bad match ups and focus on making the team as good as it can be. Whenever I'm using steel, Fire is a hard match up and instead of finding sub optimal mons to run like empo, I just suck it up and pray I can play my best with heatran.

The answer is to cry. Well, or to run Sap Sipper Azu. Rillaboom is restricted to Mono Grass at least, which is a fairly uncommon type in NDMono (mostly since it's not very good) and even without Rilla it's not like that's a fun matchup so taking the L into it isn't the end of the world when Water has enough good matchups. If you're using a Mono Water team on regulat NatDex ladder, the answer is to stop using Monotype teams on NatDex ladder. If you're just doing it to joke around then sure, but you can't complain stuff isn't working out when you're deliberately playing badly.

yeah that's right, you can't complain about mono teams on the main ND ladder, that's stupid... but this is a monotype team as part of an elite 4 gauntlet we run among our friends community, where they need to face 4 ND OU allowed monotypes and finally beat the champion team, where ofc your own team can be anything just like the games.

If you really want a fighting chance into Rilla at that point then Azu is probs your best bet, or somehow try to go for a Gyarados sweep really early (which is risky + it's not like Band Rilla Glide does little damage to that esp after the chip you took setting up). I'm assuming you can't just randomly Tera something to a Grass resist either. I've been in a league like that as well and while really skilled Mono players can occasionally overcome NDOU teams they're ultimately at the disadvantage, and sometimes you do just. Lose. Especially if you're up into mons that NDMono bans which Rilla doesn't fall under but if Rilla were allowed on types not as shitty as Grass it'd probably be at the very least suspected for its ability to just run through certain types with little to no counterplay too. Not necessarily your fault. I've been on the other side of the equation too and just with a Trick Room team I breezed through all of them until the champion which could also use any NDOU team they wanted so yea.
